Dexter 3×10

& Masuka: I’ve got a reputation to live up to. I mean, if my show does not make people vomit and have an erection at the same time, then I’ve let my audience down.

& Miguel: What are you doing in my office, Dex?
    Dexter: Winning.

& Rita: I feel like Cinderella. Except for the whole Disney virgin thing.
Sylvia: Oh, don’t worry. No one’ll know Prince Charming knocked ya up before the ball.

& Rita: Please don’t hate me, but I may have done a bad thing.
Dexter: Do I need to sit down?
Rita: I told Sylvia about Miguel and LaGuerta.
    Dexter: I’m gonna sit down.

& Miguel: Cause after all... familia is sacred.

& Dexter: At least I didn’t teach him how to get away with murder. I’m learning.

The Itchy Brain Simulation

The Big Bang Theory 7×8

& Leonard: Okay, Sheldon, I know I was supposed to return this DVD a long time ago, and I know we rented it on your card. But it’s been, like, seven years and clearly nothing bad has happened. So in-in-in-instead of being a giant pain in the ass like you always are, what if this one time you just tried staying calm?
Sheldon: ..... That seems like a reasonable request.

& Leonard: How about that? Sheldon’s being reasonable.
Penny: Yeah, it’s freaking me out. I’m gonna go.

& Sheldon: Talking to you while you’re on the toilet isn’t exactly a picnic for me either, okay? Remember... when you can hear me, I can hear you.

& Sheldon: You completely disregard how uncomfortable unresolved issues are for me. It’s-it’s like, a... an itch in my brain I can’t scratch.

& Penny: I don’t know why but I always pictured her as Indian.
Bernadette: I think that reason’s called racism.
Penny: I’m gonna go talk to her.
Bernadette: Why? What are you gonna say?
Penny: I’m not gonna say anything. I just want to check her out. Because she hurt my friend. My Indian friend. Who’s racist now?
Bernadette: You! Because you just called him your “Indian friend.”
Penny: .... Yeah, well, you’re short.

& Penny: You know, I may be a bad waitress, but you are a bad person. Now, you want to hear the specials?

& Penny: So, you can never take it off?

& Howard: Hey, what’re you working on?
Sheldon: I’m thinking about how one could use the fact that a rapidly rotating mirror turns virtual photons into real ones as a method of observing dark energy.
Howard: That’s a pretty cool idea.
Sheldon: Yeah. It’s great you’re here. I’d love to get an engineer’s opinion.
    Howard: Sure.
    Sheldon: This chair is squeaky...

& Penny: Come on, take it off. I won’t tell.
Leonard: No, no, honey, if I take it off, Sheldon wins.
Penny: Sweetie... every night you don’t kill him in his sleep, he wins.

& Raj: I hope we can hang out again sometime. You know, as friends, lovemaking partners, whatever.
Lucy: Oh, uh... I’m kind of seeing someone.
Raj: I think I know the answer to this, but just to be clear, it’s not me, right?

& Amy: Sheldon... that was diabolical.
Sheldon: I know... And it wasn’t easy. Do you have any idea what it’s like to wait for years and never know if you’re going to finally get satisfaction?

Lucille Austero: Do you like ham?
Carl Weathers: No. I love it.

& Maeby: I don’t get it. Why do we have to change rooms?
Lindsay: Cousins of the opposite gender shouldn’t be sharing a room.
George Michael: But that’s just the point. I mean, we’re cousins. Gender has nothing to do with it. I mean, cousins can bunk together. That’s why they call it “bunkin’ cousins.”
    Lindsay: “Kissin’ cousins.”
George Michael: We’re not kissing! That’s the point!

& Lindsay: We’re all just gonna have a more normal arrangement. I’m gonna sleep with my daughter, and you’re gonna sleep with my husband...

The Makeover

Citizen Khan 2×6

& Mr. Khan: You see, the person who represents the mosque must be perfect embodiment of a Muslim man. I got big beard. Nice hat. Classic suit. Tradition never goes out of fashion, Amjad. You young people spend too much time on the Spacebook, Hotmails, watching videos on Boobtube.

& Mr. Khan: Feel my beard. Go on!

& Mr. Khan: Beards are very popular now. Did you know, one in five men in the UK has a beard? In Pakistan, it’s double. Even more if you include the womens.

& Amjad: Hello? I’ve screwed myself in!

& Mr. Khan: This is just the kind of rubbish I’ve come to expect from you, Dave. It’s not your fault. You gingers are different from us Pakistanis.
Dave: Surely we’re all the same in God’s eyes, Mr Khan.
Mr. Khan: He only says that to make you feel better. We all know he has his favourites.

Dave: It’s a manicure, Mr Khan. Have you never had a manicure?

Saul: She was your ex-wife. It was 35 years ago.
Javadi: In the eyes of God, we’re still married. I should have stoned her to death, but you didn’t give me enough time.

& Saul: It’s the curse of old men to realize that in the end, we control nothing.

    Saul: We agreed to disagree.

The Marchioness

Elementary 2×7

& Sherlock: I often wonder if I should have been born in another time...

& Sherlock: My-my... My senses are unusually— well, one could even say unnaturally— keen. And ours is an era of distraction. It’s, uh, a punishing drumbeat of constant input. This-this cacophony which follows us into our homes and into our beds and seeps into our... into our souls, for want of a better word. For a long time, uh, there was only one poultice for my raw nerve endings, and that was, uh, copious drug use. So in my less productive moments, I’m given to wonder... if I’d just been born when it was a little... quieter out there, would I have even become an addict in the first place? Might I have been more focused?.. A more fully realized person?..
    AA: What, like Ancient Greece?
Sherlock: You have any idea what passed for dental care in the Hellenic era?! No, no, I’d, um, I’d want some of the wonders of modernity. Just before everything got... amplified.

& Watson: I’m confused. Didn’t you and your brother’s fiancé...
Sherlock: What? Copulate? Engage in several bouts of vigorous sex? Yes, yes, we did.

& Watson: “Marquess”?
Sherlock: It’s mid-level nobility. It’s smack between an earl and a duke.

& Mycroft: I know you and Joan rarely sit down for a meal.
Sherlock: That’s by design— a lingering dinner, especially in the midst of a case, is an indulgence.
Mycroft: You think conversation’s an indulgence?
Sherlock: The meal itself is an indulgence. Conversation is an annoyance within an indulgence...

& Mycroft: I don’t quite believe I’m going to say this to a grown man... Your food’s getting cold.

& Sherlock: Ah, sorry, I can’t do this. There’s just too much tension.
Watson: What are you talking about? There’s no tension!
Mycroft: We’re having a nice time.
Sherlock: You must be joking. Watson carries unease between her shoulder blades. Her trapezius muscles are in knots, and it’s carrying over to her deltoids.
    Watson: My back is fine.
Sherlock: What happened between you two in London?

& Sherlock: Oh, my God.
Watson: I was in London— I didn’t know he was gonna come here.
Sherlock: You had sex with my brother. Willingly?

& Sherlock: Is this going to be an ongoing arrangement? Because, if it is, I’ll need to plan accordingly. ... You haven’t discussed it! Well, get it sorted immediately, would you? It’s the least you could do... Just out of curiosity— was he any good? My brother. Does he have a talent for the act of coitus? ... Mycroft, your thoughts on Watson?

& Watson: Do you think you’re maybe overthinking this?

& Watson: Uh! Why are you poking me with your single stick?
Sherlock: I’m poking the covers to determine whether or not my brother is in there with you.

& Sherlock: I won’t discuss the holidays, you know.
    Mycroft: That’s fine.
Sherlock: I’ve no interest in covering our past in a glaze of nostalgia.
Mycroft: I accept your terms completely... Where does that leave us, then? What would you like to talk about?

Sherlock: He is also, judging by his e-mails, surprisingly tolerant of forwarded videos of mischievous kittens.

& Sherlock: Quite frankly, I’m surprised it’s taken this long for the captain’s marriage to buckle. He’s an excellent detective.
Watson: What does that have to do with it?
Sherlock: Well, as you know, detection is a calling, not a job. Hardly leaves one with time left over to sustain the elaborate ruse of marriage.
Watson: Because, of course, you think marriage is an elaborate ruse.
Sherlock: There are other ways to describe it. An unnatural arrangement which forces its participants into an unhealthy monogamy.     Gregson: Huh.
Sherlock: And yet I’ve come to appreciate the premise of partnership. It’s far more intricate than I had previously imagined. The very smallest gesture can speak volumes.

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones

& Jocelyn: Jesus!
    Simon: Nope. Just me.

& Clary: I don’t even know why I’m talking to you. You’re a killer. A cold-blooded killer.
Jace: As opposed to a peace-loving killer?

& Clary: What the hell was that?
Jace: You wouldn’t believe me if I told you.
    Clary: Try me.
    Jace: It was a demon.
    Clary: You’re right. I don’t believe you.

& Jace: Jace Wayland. Demon hunter.
Simon: Simon Lewis. Keymaster. Are you the Gatekeeper?
Jace: I have no idea what you’re talking about.

& Hodge: There’s only one thing you need to know. The stories you were told as a little girl... about monsters and nightmares... legends whispered around campfires... they’re all true.

& Simon: So how do you kill a zombie?
    Isabelle: We don’t.
Simon: Of course. They’re already dead.
    Isabelle: No. They don’t exist.

& Hodge: ...a war against evil... a war that can never be won... but must always be fought.

& Clary: So Bach is to demons... what garlic is to vampires.
Jace: Kind of. I mean, you can run out of garlic. You can’t really run out of music.

& Valentine: It’s all a matter of perception. You see? Now you’re Morgenstern.

& Clary: Go ahead. You can hang your head out the window if you need to.
Alaric: I’m a Werewolf, not a Golden Retriever!

& Simon: The werewolves are here to save us... Never thought I’d say that.
