Dessert at Olive Garden

Atypical 4×10

Sam: Sometimes it's hard to know the difference between science and magic. Like Fata Morgana. Fata Morgana is an optical illusion where objects in the distance appear to be hovering over the surface of the water. There's a scientific explanation for it... but to most people, it just looks like magic.

Elsa: They've offered you a spot on their trip to Alaska.
Casey: Think about it. They're both cold. They both start and end with A. You could spend weekends in Juneau, maybe shoot up to Denali and tussle with a bear.
Sam: Alaska? Alaska is nothing like Antarctica!

Zahid: Uh, s... sorry, I don't mean to bother you. Um, I just needed to borrow some tools from Chip.
Honey: I don't have a lot of tools, but I should get some though.
Zahid: Huh.
Honey: I should get some... really big tools.
Zahid: Oh.
Honey: I do have a hammer. Did you wanna nail anything?
Zahid: Um... But, um... Ugh.
Honey: I don't have a screwdriver though, so we can't screw.
Zahid: I'm just trying to help my friend... "I'm just trying to help my friend"?! I mean, what was I thinking?

Zahid: Wait a minute. Am I a nicer guy after my surgery? Did I have a bad ball? Is it possible that my right nut was the evil twin?
Sam: I don't think so. I think it's pretty clear you're wrong.
Zahid: Life's pretty funny, huh? Turns out I had to lose a testicle to become a better man.
Sam: You're not that much better.

Sam: You can still make out some of the words.
Paige: "Smart, loyal, clean shoes."
Sam: And I wrote that after knowing you for, like, a week. And now I've known you for 116 weeks, and you are smarter and more loyal and have cleaner shoes than I ever could have imagined.

The One with Rachel's Big Kiss

Friends 7×20

Rachel: Hey, out of all of us, who do you think will get married next?
Joey: .... Probably Monica and Chandler.

Joey: Hey, Rach...
Rachel: Stop picturing it!

Rachel: What are you gonna wear?
Joey: Multi-colored robes. Ooh, and maybe a hat.
Rachel: Huh. Does Monica know about this?
Joey: No.
Rachel: Can I please be there when you tell her?

Rachel: If you don't believe me... just come with me to dinner tonight and she'll tell you.
Phoebe: Okay. Because I can't picture it.
Joey: You should get inside my head...

Ross: Hey, hey. Why don't we put them on? Get a picture of Batman and James Bond, together.
Chandler: I would, but my pants are a little tight.
Monica: A little tight? I could see 00 and 7 in those things.

Rachel: I'm just a good kisser.

Rachel: What the hell was that?!
Phoebe: Just wanted to see what all the fuss was about.....
Rachel: And?
Phoebe: I've had better.

Downton Abbey 4×2

Violet, Dowager Countess of Grantham: ...are you trying to hide from the truth?
Robert Crawley, Earl of Grantham: What truth?
Violet, Dowager Countess of Grantham: That you would prefer to be in sole charge of the estate and not share the crown with Mary.
Robert Crawley, Earl of Grantham: Don't be silly. This won't make any difference to all that. She won't want to get involved.
Violet, Dowager Countess of Grantham: When you talk like that, I'm tempted to ring for Nanny and have you put to bed with no supper.

Joseph Molesley: Don't you understand? I'm at my wits' end!-- I apologize. I should not have said that. It was vulgar and self-important. Please forgive me.

Anna Bates: I felt so sorry for him. To be in debt like that is the worst thing.

Anna Bates: You surprise me.
John Bates: Why?
Anna Bates: I never think of you as social.
John Bates: Why should I be social when I have you?

Mrs. Hughes: What was she called?
Mr. Carson: Alice. Alice Neal.
Mrs. Hughes: And you were fond of her?
Mr. Carson: I was. But people drift in and out of your life, don't they? Truth to tell, I felt she'd treated me badly. What does it matter, anyway? We shout and scream and wail and cry, but in the end we must all die.
Mrs. Hughes: Well, that's cheered me up.

Lady Mary Crawley: And are we to do all this without telling Papa? Isn't that rather underhand?
Violet, Dowager Countess of Grantham: There can be too much truth in any relationship.

Cindy Hawkins

Fear the Walking Dead 7×3

John Dorie Sr.: It's us again. John Francis Dorie V and my daughter-in-law, June Dorie. The two folks 6 feet under. Very much alive, though.

John Dorie Sr.: Another one off the board.

June: Good night, John.
John Dorie Sr.: Night, June.

John Dorie Sr.: It's not too late. It's never too late.

John Dorie Sr.: I said we knew he killed 23 women, but we only found 22 bodies. His last victim, Cindy Hawkins, the one whose purse I planted, he finally admitted he killed her. It's what cracked the whole thing open. But I never found her body.

John Dorie Sr.: I'm sorry, June. I know I'm not the Dorie you thought you'd be spending your days with.

June: If those people on the radio don't kill you, the dead will.
John Dorie Sr.: We're already living 6 feet underground. I'm not sure I see what the difference is.

Victor: I, um... I did what I did, yes. But I'm here. Morgan's out there.
John Dorie Sr.: Doesn't make it right.

Victor: To new beginnings. To whatever's next.

John Dorie Sr.: I'd rather face whatever's out there.
June: Leaving really isn't an option...

Victor: I'm done listening to you, Morgan. Everyone is. Everyone tried it your way and look what happened. Death. Destruction. Face the truth, Morgan... you failed. You're a failure.

Victor: Now it's my turn. I'm going to do what you couldn't. I'm going to rebuild the world. I'm going to help everyone that you let down. Well, the ones that I see fit.

Morgan: I will come for you, Victor. And I will do what you tried to do to me on that submarine. Only I won't miss.
Victor: .... Bring it.

The Future Perfect

American Horror Story. Double Feature: Death Valley

10×10

Richard Nixon: We need to stop this goddamn war!
Valiant Thor: The war is performing a very important function.
Richard Nixon: It's destroying my presidency.
Henry Kissinger: I have to agree, Mr. Thor. I can't see what we're accomplishing.
Valiant Thor: When you were little and you needed to get a needle, sometimes the doctor would distract you. He would show you a toy and then while you were playing with it, he'd jab you. If people are focused on the war, they won't be thinking about all of the Americans going missing.

Valiant Thor: We all understood that the creation of an alien-human hybrid was a complex task requiring generations of experimentation.
Henry Kissinger: How much more time do you need?
Valiant Thor: We are projecting that the first functioning hybrid will be born in approximately... 2021.

Henry Kissinger: Mr. Thor, the Vietnam War will never last 50 years.
Valiant Thor: Of course it won't. Which is why we have a full menu of distractions prepared.
Richard Nixon: You think I'm gonna sacrifice my entire career for one of your little distractions?
Valiant Thor: Just consider this... Distractions can come in many forms.

Mamie Eisenhower: Thanks to me, Americans are celebrating birthdays, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and I am not going to stop there. I am going to bring back a holiday that everyone has forgotten.
Dwight 'Ike' Eisenhower: Huh. "Happy Ed".
Mamie Eisenhower: No, silly, Evacuation Day. Even you don't remember it. It's the day the British evacuated Boston, and they still celebrate it in Massachusetts. When I'm done with it, it'll be nationwide, Oh, I can see it. Evacuation Day parades across the country. It'll be like the Fourth of July.

Richard Nixon: You see, they wanted me in the White House, and now I know why. Not just because I was gonna play ball. No, no, that's not it. You see... I was to be the ringleader of the circus when the tent caught fire.

Richard Nixon: Now, this Valiant Thor, he has an office at Watergate and I... I want it bugged. I wanna hear everything that they've got planned. Every line on the goddamn calendar. Comprende?
Gordon Liddy: I won't let you down, sir.
Richard Nixon: You'll be the first.

Mamie Eisenhower: I know everything. But before I say anything, we're agreed you're never to mention my name? To you, I'm just... Deep Throat. .....
Valiant Thor: Deep throat? You're joking.
Mamie Eisenhower: Not at all. It's from that filthy movie. I figured it's the last name anyone would ever believe I'd take.
Mamie Eisenhower: I've had a good run. I've accomplished more than anyone could ever dream. I got the world to appreciate the color pink. I freed Americans to celebrate their birthdays, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and if there's still work to be done on Evacuation Day, I can take up that fight for another year or so. I'd like a quiet death. And then, as you promised... I want to live forever.

Mamie Eisenhower: Tell me, do you like fudge?

Jamie Howard: You were right, Kendall. I can't believe we traded the best parts of being human... our freedom, curiosity, our need to explore... all for microchip technology and the ability to send memes around the world.

Theta: It takes some getting used to. It's best not to think of it as a person and more as...
Mamie Eisenhower: Livestock.
Theta: I was going to say a machine. Wonderful piece of technology that's going to save the world.
Mamie Eisenhower: Humans are not machines. We are not technology to be used against our will! Who runs your world now, Mamie? The people or the machines?...

Mamie Eisenhower: What if we fought back?
Calico: Look, I am no mathematician, but I do know a little something about gambling. And you plus me versus them? That would be like a pair of deuces versus a royal flush and the royal flush has an army with guns.

Mamie Eisenhower: It's what needs to be done.
Calico: It's just a baby.
Mamie Eisenhower: Would you take the chance to kill Hitler if he were just a baby? Stalin? An immoral act becomes moral when it's done in the service of all humanity. This is what's right.

Calico: Why do you get to decide what's right?
Mamie Eisenhower: Because I'm Mamie goddamn Eisenhower!

Theta: My humanity is my greatest shame. I will not help those who have destroyed this planet and its natural resources. Humans are hypocrites. Even if we wanted to live side by side with you, we couldn't. Because you're too selfish to share. You won't even open your doors to your own kind in their moment of need. Why would we think you would welcome us? It's our turn now. Our people will restore balance. Create a new world.

Calico: She's right. About people. I have seen them at their worst, and I've need them at their best. And I think maybe it's time we step aside and give someone else a chance.

Theta: Oh. Another perfect specimen.

Sam: We can have a party. I don't care what we call it.
Zahid: Really? You're usually so party averse.
Sam: Not this time. I need to stimulate my hippocampus.
Zahid: Well, that doesn't sound appropriate...
Sam: My hippocampus. It's the part of the brain that deals with navigation, memory retention, and emotional regulation.

Elsa: You know I love you, but...
Doug: Why do you have to start with that? When you start with that, I always know something bad is coming now.

Sam: Dad, save the date. There's a must-attend brain-enlarging event this Saturday night.
Doug: Well, I'm working Saturday, but if it's important, maybe I can change my shift.
Sam: We're saying goodbye to Zahid's testicle.

Mike McCann: Ever been to Winnipeg, Gurty? It's just 70 miles.
Gurty McCann: "Win a pig."
Mike McCann: We might, partner. With any luck, today, we might just win a pig.

Jim Goldenrod: How's the fight for justice going? Keep building casinos, you'll beat the white man without a shot fired.

Mike McCann: I thought I'd heard every trucker's expression, so what the heck's a "bull run"?
Jim Goldenrod: Bull run? Well, back in Minnesota, all the livestock haulers never used to stop, because bulls, you see, got to be standing when they're being transported. As soon as one gets tired and lies down, then the others will step on him and kill him. All livestock haulers know this, so they never stop for anything.
Mike McCann: Ah, I see. I'm learning something tonight.

Tantoo: Well, Mr. Varnay, hauling heavy cargo on ice in April is a big deal. See custer's head there? Tips us off to pressure waves. You go too fast, you create a pressure wave. In you go. You go too slow, the ice can't handle the pounds per square inch on your tire. In you go.

Mike McCann: Oh, now I'm angry.

Mike McCann: It's not about money now. This is personal.

Squid Game One Lucky Day

Squid Game 1×9

Front Man: The sixth and final game will be Squid Game. Let me explain the rules of Squid Game.
One. The attacker needs to go into the squid drawing, run past the defense, and tap the squid's head with his foot to win.
Two. The defender must push the attacker out of the drawing to win.
Three. If there comes a situation where either one of you cannot continue playing, the last one standing wins.

Gi-hun: What do you mean… by "cannot continue playing"?
Front Man: It refers to a player's death. Now, let the game begin.

Sang-woo: When we were kids, we would play just like this, and our moms would call us in for dinner. But no one calls us anymore.

Gi-hun: Why do you do this?
Front Man: You like horseracing, right? You people are horses. Horses at a racetrack.

Gi-hun: Who… are you?
Il-nam: I… make money by lending it.
Gi-hun: How easily do you make money… for you to do something like that?
Il-nam: Money... You know what making money is like. Is that something easy?

Il-nam: Do you… still trust people? Even after what you've been through?

Il-nam: That money was the reward you got for your luck and hard work. You have the right to use it. Look at me. Life is… short.

Il-nam: Do you know what someone with no money has in common with someone with too much money? Living is no fun for them. If you have too much money, no matter what you buy, eat, or drink, everything gets boring in the end.

In-ho: May I ask why?
Il-nam: Because there's no way watching it can be more fun than playing it yourself.

Gabrielle: You guys make me laugh. What do you think? All you need is my number? Okay, it's 0612232341. You'll call me? Then what? You say, let's have dinner. Or lunch, so as not to scare me off. Then what?

Vincent: I was in the toy department. She starts in, saying, "Even here, you can feel the sexism." Give me a break. I bust my ass to go buy a toy... "Look," she says, "look at the girls' toys. The dolls, so you'll dream of fairy princesses and the babies and diapers. "To pretend you're a mom, slaving..." Then she loses it. We get to household goods. She starts laying into me about how it's a man's world. I'm there to get a toy, she starts up, I never do housework, I stay out late. And then, she insists on buying him a vacuum cleaner! A vacuum cleaner is for girls! He's a boy. Why buy him a girl's toy? It's hell. She wants to prove we're the same. We're not. I'm a man, she's a woman. There's a big difference.

Georges: Never argues with his wife. Weird.
Vincent: How do you know?
Georges: They moved in weeks ago. Nothing.

Vincent: I love my wife. That's not the problem. I love my wife and other women. No more lies. I love them all. The incredible thing is, because I love one woman... one... I can't have the others. Do you realize her importance? It's her, or potentially all the others. Let's divide the world in two. On one side is my wife, on the other, all other women. My wife... all the others. The others, my wife. I chose my wife. Only two explanations: Either my wife is a goddess, or I'm crazy.

Fred: I'm going to have a baby. A child. A girl, if you want to know.
Vincent: You're joking, right?
Fred: No, it's no joke.
Vincent: Hang on. I must have missed a beat.
Fred: A girl I slept with got pregnant, and she wants to keep the baby. And so do I, I think. That's all.
Vincent: I don't get it.
Fred: It's simple.
Vincent: Are you in love?
Fred: Don't start in with that stupid romantic paradigm. Daddy, Mommy...
Vincent: Be serious.
Fred: No, you be serious. And don't judge me.
Vincent: I'm not, I want you to be happy.
Fred: Why? Are you happy? You happy? You don't look it. You're the one in pain, not me. You live with fairy tales you learned as a boy. "They got married and lived happily ever after." Bullshit! What is it? To have a kid with a woman I love. The fruit of our love, is that it? When I fall for another woman I just eat my heart out? Hey, wake up! You live in a bourgeois world, and it's out of date! Look at the divorce figures. Maybe in 40 years, I'll be the norm.
Vincent: Forty years is how long my parents have been married.

“И это называется выходной день! ...

Thomas Barrow: If you ask me, that Nanny West thinks too much of herself.
Alfred Nugent: Why? What's she done? She always seems nice to me.
Thomas Barrow: She only tried to give me orders.
James Kent: You mean she mistook you for a servant?
Alfred Nugent: But he is a servant.
John Bates: Don't tell him that. He'll never get over the shock.

Robert Crawley, Earl of Grantham: You've seen her. She hardly has the energy to lift a fork to her mouth.
Tom Branson: She loved him very much...
Robert Crawley, Earl of Grantham: And the price of great love is great misery when one of you dies.

Mrs. Patmore: Did Lady Edith say why she got it?
Daisy Robinson: Oh, her ladyship asked her to. She wants to save us a bit of elbow grease.
Mrs. Patmore: You don't understand. Before too long, her ladyship could run the kitchen with a woman from the village. What with these toasters and mixers and such like, we'd be out of a job.
Daisy Robinson: I want to try it.
Mrs. Patmore: Then on your own head be it!

Nanny West: I don't have to explain my decisions to you. You're a member of staff and the orders I give are to be obeyed.
Thomas Barrow: And aren't you a member of staff?
Nanny West: Not in that way.

Lady Mary Crawley: I suppose you think I behaved very badly down there.
Violet, Dowager Countess of Grantham: My dear, I'm not really very interested in whether you behaved badly or well.
Lady Mary Crawley: No?
Violet, Dowager Countess of Grantham: No. I am not your governess. I'm your grandmother.
Lady Mary Crawley: And the difference is?
Violet, Dowager Countess of Grantham: The difference is... I love you.

Lady Mary Crawley: The truth is, I don't think I'm going to be a very good mother.
Violet, Dowager Countess of Grantham: Why not?
Lady Mary Crawley: Because somehow with Matthew's death, all the softness that he found in me seems to have dried up and drained away. Maybe it was only ever there in his imagination.
Violet, Dowager Countess of Grantham: My dear, there's more than one type of good mother... The fact is, you have a straightforward choice before you. You must choose either death or life.
Lady Mary Crawley: And you think I should choose life?...

Mrs. Hughes: You're very kind.

The One with Ross and Monica's Cousin

Phoebe: The wedding's so close. Are you nervous?
Monica: Yeah, but I also can't wait till it's over. We have a pact not to have sex again until the wedding.
Ross: A "no sex" pact, huh? I have one of those with every woman in America.

Monica: What were you thinking?
Joey: I don't know. I just want this part. They say no matter what you're asked during an audition, say yes. They want you to ride a horse, say you can. You figure out how to do it later.
Monica: This is not like learning to ride a horse. This is like learning to... grow a turtleneck.

Ross: She's your cousin. She's your cousin. If she knew what was going on in your head, she'd think you were sick. Or would she? Let's back up for a second. She was the one who suggested opening a bottle of wine. She was the one who turned down the lights. She was the one that wanted to rent Logan's Run... the sexiest movie ever. I know that look. Forget it... I want it. She wants it. I'm going in--
Cassie: What the hell are you doing?
Ross: Say something clever... Okay, doesn't have to be clever. Just has to be words... Say some words. Any words will do. Oh, my God, this is the longest... that anyone has not talked ever! There is nothing you could say to make this worse... so just say something!
Ross: I haven't had sex in a very long time.

Jungle Cruise (2021)

Lily Houghton: Haven't you been dreaming about another adventure?
MacGregor Houghton: If I wanted to go to a primitive backwater where I can't understand a word anyone's saying, I'd visit our relatives in Scotland.

Frank Wolff: If you look to the left of the boat, you'll see some very playful toucans. They're playing their favourite game of beak-wrestling. The only drawback is, only two can play.... There's two birds, and those are toucans...... I'm saying that only "two can" play. Not one, but "two can” play.

Frank Wolff: Hey! Hey! Hands in the boat! Know this about the jungle, everything that you see wants to kill you. And can.

Frank Wolff: Well, folks, you were all outstanding today. Now I need you all out, standing on the dock. That means "get off my boat.” I'm only serious.

Lily Houghton: I consider 5,000 real more than adequate.
Frank Wolff: I take you there myself. I am my best captain.
Lily Houghton: Oh, and your most modest. Fine, 10,000.
Frank Wolff: 10,000 to bring you there alive. If I have to bring you back dead, it's 15,000.
Lily Houghton: Why should I pay more dead?
Frank Wolff: Dead, I'd have to carry you. Dead's a lot harder, lady.

Frank Wolff: ... you're never gonna get all your luggage on my boat.
Lily Houghton: Not mine.
MacGregor Houghton: Mine. And, I assure you, every one of these items is entirely necessary for my survival.
Frank Wolff: Well, with all this extra added weight, we'd be lucky to even get out of the harbour, so, no.
MacGregor Houghton: Dinner without a dinner jacket is hardly, well, dinner, is it?

Frank Wolff: This is my engine. Nobody touches my engine but me.

Lily Houghton: And I want to help as many people as I can.
Frank Wolff: Wanna save the world?
Lily Houghton: I didn't say "save the world."
Frank Wolff: It's very noble.
Lily Houghton: Well, thank you.
Frank Wolff: It's also very stupid.
Lily Houghton: You are deeply unpleasant. And off-key.
Frank Wolff: So, you'd rather risk your life and your brother's life to save people you don't even know?

Lily Houghton: Well, I don't have to know someone to care.
Frank Wolff: Well, I don't have to care about anybody, period.

Lily Houghton: That's apparent.
Frank Wolff: Look, I just think if you're lucky enough to have one person in this life to care about, then that's world enough for me.
Lily Houghton: "That's world enough for me..." Hmm.

MacGregor Houghton: Where are they taking us?
Frank Wolff: We're headed into headhunter territory, which is a terrible place to be headed.
Lily Houghton: Oh, frank, come on, not now.
Frank Wolff: I can't turn it off.

Frank Wolff: Remember, it's only a scam if you fall for it.

MacGregor Houghton: My sister, who just made full professor at Cambridge, has asked me to respectfully reject your invitation of membership on her behalf. Which I will do. Just not respectfully. Gentlemen, you can take your invitation and you can shove it up your association.

Squid Game 1×7

Front Man: Welcome to the fifth game. Before we begin the game, please choose a mannequin before you numbered from 1 through 16.

Jang Deok-su: There are 15 more tiles ahead of me... The probability that I'll get to the end… two to the power of fifteen. That's a 1-in-32,768 chance. Shit.

Player 062: Quit your dirty tricks! The rule is that we go in order.
Deok-su: Piss off, fucker. This is hell. There are no rules in hell. If you're dying to go, go first.

  “Ломир але инейнем, инейнем…
Ах, как поет и плачет скрипка!  ...
&  – Нужно спокойно подумать и найти выход! И не поддаваться обстоятельствам, вот что я вам скажу, нельзя так легко поддаваться обстоятельствам.

&  – Этого не может быть! – папа хватается за голову. – Просто безумие, настоящее безумие!
Люблю знакомые фразы. Помогают жить. Особенно когда вокруг все малознакомое или совсем чужое.

Deandra Lerner: Honestly, Robert, this is so...
Robert Lerner: Meterosexual?
Deandra Lerner: That's not even the word. It's metro. Metrosexual.
Robert Lerner: I'm allowed to like gay things.
Deandra Lerner: I need a drink.

Ashley: Look, um, listen, I don't think tonight's gonna work out.

Ashley: Oh, my God! No, I can't! I can't watch this part. Why would... why would they go into the attic? It's just... oh, it's so stupid.

Ashley: Luke, no! Don't. What are you... Luke!

Sex Education #3.3

Aimee Gibbs: Do you know most women's vulvas don't look like they do on PornHub? I thought mine was a bit ugly because it's not all tucked in, but it's dead normal.
Maeve Wiley: You should read Come As You Are by Emily Nagoski. It's a great book. I'll lend it to you.

Hope Haddon: I know this probably feels like a big change, but you'll find that having a uniform creates a sense of unity and equilibrium. And speaking of changes, the choir will now sing the new school anthem, "Non Sibi, sed Toti."

Ruby Matthews: Why are they singing in elf language?
Otis Milburn: I think it's Latin.
Ruby Matthews: Well, what does it mean?
Anwar: "Not for oneself, but for all."

Ruby Matthews: There's nothing gluten-free!
Adam Groff: How long have you been diabetic?
Ruby Matthews: I'm not diabetic.
Adam Groff: You can't eat sugar.
Eric Effoing: Gluten, Adam. Not glucose.
Adam Groff: Does anyone else... like the smell of their own farts?... You told me to ask questions.

Blue Moon

American Horror Story. Double Feature: Death Valley

10×9

Valiant Thor: Let's begin the mission at hand. We promised you technology, and today we start to make good on that promise.
Richard Nixon: What in the hell is that?
Valiant Thor: This is the future... Go ahead. Touch it. It won't bite....
Richard Nixon: It's a goddamn television.
Valiant Thor: Much better than that.

Valiant Thor: It's a computing device you can hold in the palm of your hand. More powerful than the IBM 7090 now taking up an entire room at the Pentagon.
Richard Nixon: Well, that is impossible.
Valiant Thor: One day, these devices will connect your world and usher in an age of peace and harmony among mankind. This is what the future holds, gentlemen. Do you want it or not?

Mamie Eisenhower: ... And thanks to me, adults all across the country are celebrating their birthdays with parties. They're not just for kiddos anymore, Mr. Man. And now they're going to celebrate Halloween. I want grown-ups to join in the fun, dress up, that sort of thing. Make Halloween less juvenile... My legacy will surpass Eleanor Roosevelt's, that old basset hound. They all love her, not me. Well, that's about to change forever.

Mamie Eisenhower: Nevada. Didn't Twining want a place to test planes? So give them that. Or give them all of Nevada. Do you remember during the campaign when we had to stop in that godforsaken state? It was so beastly hot and dry there, I nearly fainted from the temperature...

Dwight 'Ike' Eisenhower: This executive order hereby withdraws 38,000 acres located 80 miles north of Las Vegas from public use. The land will be set aside... for the construction of a top secret biological testing and information exchange facility. Its current AEC designation... is Area 51.

Mamie Eisenhower: No, it wasn't a nightmare. It was an absolute dream.

Dwight 'Ike' Eisenhower: She's an actress, Dick. She takes pills and she drinks too much. No one's taking her seriously.
Richard Nixon: Sir, all it takes is one reporter asking questions and we are six ways to Sunday without a paddle. And my dreams of running for president again? Well, that dream dies.

Richard Nixon: Are we still not on speaking terms, sir?
Dwight 'Ike' Eisenhower: If we were, I'd tell you to go fuck yourself.

Valiant Thor: Ah, I like your sense of humor, sir. You might need it. Please, this way. Are you ready to learn how the world works, Mr. President?
Lyndon Johnson: Pretty good idea how the world works, sonny.
Valiant Thor: Of course you do...
Lyndon Johnson: As I live and shit.

Theta: To be human is to not understand. The optimum condition for your race is to surrender to that innocence.

Kendall Carr: Why are we standing on a set of the moon landing?
Calico: Isn't it obvious? They faked it. Here, 50 years ago. Right around the time they abducted me.

Kendall Carr: Wait, seriously? Stanley Kubrick? Why would he direct a fake moon landing?
Calico: Dicky Nixon was gaga for "Strangelove". It was his favorite movie. And some say, afterwards, Kubrick was given a lifetime contract at Warner Bros. with no constrictions.

A Journey to the Highlands

Downton Abbey 3×9

Alfred Nugent: So will we have a bit of a break while they're away, Mr. Carson?
Mr. Carson: What?
James Kent: He meant can we expect some time off? For an outing or something.
Mr. Carson: I don't understand. Has someone forgotten to pay your wages?
Alfred Nugent: No.
Mr. Carson: Exactly. Now, we will start with the ceremonial ware. And when that's done, I want all the silver brought down for cleaning, one room at a time.
Mrs. Hughes: And don't you maids think you're out of it. We'll give every room a thorough cleaning while they're away.

Mrs. Hughes: You can let them have a bit of free time, can't you?
Mr. Carson: If they get the extra work done, then I'll think about it...

Anna Bates: It makes me laugh when I hear Miss O'Brien and Mr. Bates called Mr. and Miss Grantham.
John Bates: Mrs. Bates and I don't often work in the same house party.
Mr. McCree: Of course, you two are married, Miss Crawley. How do you manage at home, being called Bates and Bates?
Anna Bates: We're not. They still call me Anna, like when I was a housemaid.
Sarah O'Brien: Which isn't right. I do so hate to see a lady's maid downgraded.

Robert Crawley, Earl of Grantham: Bloody hell.
Cora Crawley, Countess of Grantham: Welcome to the Highlands.

Violet, Dowager Countess of Grantham: My dear, no one can accuse me of being modern, but even I can see it's no crime to be young.

Edna Braithwaite: Are you ashamed of who you are? Or of who you were? Is that why you won't eat your dinner with us?

Mrs. Hughes: Oh, go on. You were young once.
Mr. Carson: I'm young now. Well, I'm not old.
Mrs. Hughes: All the more reason to say yes. You'll enjoy yourself.
Mr. Carson: No, I won't be coming. If I came, they wouldn't have fun. They'd spend the day looking over their shoulder.
Mrs. Hughes: Well, I'm going, whether I spoil their fun or not.
Mr. Carson: That's different. They respect you, of course. But I'm their leader. Well, that's put me in my place.

Mr. Carson: Don't envy me, Mrs. Hughes. You know what they say. Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown.

Lady Edith Crawley: How tiny the glens make one feel.
Violet, Dowager Countess of Grantham: That is the thing about nature. There's so much of it.

Tom Branson: I'm happy to drive them. But who'll stay here?
Mr. Carson: I will.
Alfred Nugent: You don't want to come to the fair?
Mr. Carson: I would sooner chew broken glass.
Susan MacClare, Marchioness of Flintshire: She looks like a slut!
Violet, Dowager Countess of Grantham: Oh, heavens. That's not a word you often hear among the heather.
Lady Rose MacClare: But Princess Mary has one just like it. It's the fashion now! Susan MacClare, Marchioness of Flintshire: Then it is a mad fashion.
Lady Rose MacClare: Aunt Violet, tell her.
Violet, Dowager Countess of Grantham: Oh, my dear, in my time, I wore the crinoline, the bustle and the leg-of-mutton sleeve. I am not in a strong position to criticize.

Violet, Dowager Countess of Grantham: Do you know, Rose dear, the first ghillies' ball I ever attended was at Balmoral in 1860. Yet I'd not long been married and I confess, you know, I was a little alarmed because all the men were as tight as ticks.

Robert Crawley, Earl of Grantham: They do say there's a wild man inside all of us.
Violet, Dowager Countess of Grantham: If only he would stay inside...

Tom Branson: I can't bear to be without her.
Mrs. Hughes: You must bear it. And one day, I hope, and so would she, you'll find someone to bear it with you. But until then, be your own master and call your own tune.

Edna Braithwaite: But what have I done wrong? I'm as good as Mr. Branson and there was nothing improper, nothing at all.
Mrs. Hughes: I'm sure. But there are rules to this way of life, Edna. And if you're not prepared to live by them, then it's not the right life for you.

Hugh 'Shrimpie' MacClare, Marquess of Flintshire: Love is like riding or speaking French. If you don't learn it young, it's hard to get the trick of it later.

Mr. Carson: Thank you, thank you very much. Thank you very much indeed.

Matthew Crawley: My darling, how are you? Really?
Lady Mary Crawley: Tired. And pretty relieved. But just think... we've done our duty. Downton is safe. Papa must be dancing a jig.

We truly apologize for this tragedy.

Front Man: Welcome to your fourth game. This game will be played in teams of two. Find someone you wish to play the game with. When two people agree to play as a team and shake hands, you become partners.

Sang-woo: Then do you want to stand around and die together? Or will you die on my behalf?

Ji-yeong: Things we couldn't tell other people. One of us is going to die here anyway. No matter what we tell each other, there's no reason to feel embarrassed. Don't you think?

Ji-yeong: Thanks for playing with me.

Player 001: Why don't we play one more round betting everything we have?
Gi-hun: What?
Player 001: I'll bet everything I have. You bet everything you have too.
Gi-hun: What do you mean?
Player 001: We're going to bet everything you have and everything I have. That's only fair.

Free Guy (2021)

Guy: Mmm! That is unexpectedly hot. Jeez, that's good. It's like losing my virginity, but in my mouth. Thank you for making this with such love.

Officer Johnny: Have a good one, Guy.
Guy: Don't have a good day, have a great day!

Guy: Mmm. That's hot. It's like Jesus washed my tongue but, right before he finished, he finally told my dad, "He's good enough." Thank you so much.

Millie: Medium coffee, cream, two sugars.

Mouser: Aren't you some kinda MIT genius, indie game designer? What are you doing down here dealing with complaints?
Keys: That, Mouser, is a long and pathetic story involving failed dreams, desperation, and a mountain of college debt. You do not wanna hear about that.
Mouser: You're absolutely right. That story sounds horrible and boring and full of white privilege.

Millie: How does it feel working for a galactic black hole of frozen shit?

Millie: If you don't wanna shoot people, you could steal their guns. All that shit makes your level go up. Go be the good guy.
Guy: No, I'm gonna be the great guy.
Millie: Okay, well, enjoy your lifetime supply of virginity. Off you go.

Guy: I'm sorry that I haven't been around, Bud. I've been figuring some stuff out.
Buddy: Whatcha mean, "figure stuff out"? It is nothing to figure out. Okay? You go to bed, you wake up, you get some coffee, then you come to work. And then you repeat the same thing tomorrow.

Guy: Life doesn't have to be something that just happens to us. All right? Just put the glasses on and you're gonna see. You're gonna see.

Keys: I'm just saying, we could make an original game.
Antwan: What? Make an original? Why would I do that when I could make a sequel?
Keys: So we can make it better?..
Antwan: IPs and sequels, that is the thing that people want.

Antwan: Let me ask you a question... You love Kentucky Fried Chicken, right?... If you love Kentucky Fried Chicken, and I make Kentucky Fried Chicken, and I know that you love Kentucky Fried Chicken, why would I make another restaurant called, uh, I don't know, "Albuquerque Boiled Turkey"? Okay? Makes no sense, homie... What am I gonna give you? A sequel. Kentucky Fried Chicken-Chicken, Part Two.

Millie: How good is that? You can taste it?
Guy: Taste it? It's like my tongue had a baby with a sunrise.

Guy: I know a joke. A weird funny joke. You wanna hear it?
Millie: Please.
Guy: Okay. A homosexual and a man in a wheelchair are trying to murder a very small child. The cripple says to the homosexual...
Millie: Whoa. Stop, stop. Stop! Where did you hear that?
Guy: A robbery. The gunman told it to the driver who thought it was hilarious, so I memorised it and told everyone.

Millie: You want to kiss me?
Guy: I wanna kiss you so badly.
Millie: You want to kiss me badly?
Guy: No!
Millie: No?
Guy: No, no, no, no, no. I wanna kiss you well.

Guy: Bye, Molotov.
Millie: Hey, my real name is Millie.
Guy: My real name continues to be Guy.

Millie: There is no easy way to say this, but this city is a game.
Guy: There's no easy way to say this, I know it's a game. You taught me how to play it. Boop-boop.
Millie: Yes, you're right, I did. But it's not just that it's like a game. It is a game. It's a video game. And that's all it is.

Guy: So the entire world is a game?
Millie: Yes.
Guy: And we're all just players in the game?
Millie: Not exactly. I'm a player. All these people here are players. We live in the real world. But you only exist here.

Millie: You're a non-player character.
Guy: Non...
Millie: A background person. Someone designed to make the game more fun for real people.

Guy: So, I'm fake? The entire world is fake? I'm not even a main character, I'm just this idiot who's in the background?

Guy: But if you're not real, doesn't that mean that nothing you do matters? What does that mean?
Buddy: Look, brother, I am sitting here with my best friend, trying to help him get through a tough time. Right? And even if I'm not real, this moment is. Right here, right now, this moment is real. I mean, what's more real than a person tryin' to help someone they love? Now, if that's not real, I don't know what is.

Antwan: I don't care if he's Arnold-Frickin'-Schwarzen-Vader. Terminate him. Reboot.

Guy: Wow.
Dude: Catchphrase.
Mouser: Catchphrase?
Antwan: What? I haven't had time to think one up yet. Although "catchphrase" as a catchphrase is a pretty cool catchphrase.

Dude: There are three things I love in life. Kickin' ass, TBD, third thing here.

Mouser: Speaking of busy, we just doubled the amount of unique visitors we can handle.
Keys: It's amazing. Who'd have thought that so many people would just wanna watch video game characters instead of shoot at them?
Millie: Hmm.
Keys: Oh, yeah, we did.

Stick to the Team

Squid Game 1×4

Gi-hun: You should join us.
Sae-byeok: I don't trust people. Especially people who ended up in a place like this.
Gi-hun: Are you seriously saying that to me?... You don't trust people because they're trustworthy. It's because you have nothing else to lean on.

Gi-hun: If the game is played by teams of ten, maybe it's Tail Tag or Why Did You Come to My House. If it's Tail Tag, we need to be fast. If it's Why Did You Come to My House, it's just Rock-Paper-Scissors. What should we do?
Sang-woo: We already have an elderly man and a woman, so we need to find more men.
Gi-hun: What if they make us play Elastics or Gonggi? Women are better at those.
Sang-woo: That's true, but probability-wise, men are better at most games.

Mi-nyeo: Boys, I'll give you a special chance to join me. You boys are very lucky today. My gosh. I'd be much more useful than these scrawny girls. On top of that, I'm good at everything except for the things I'm not.

Player 001: Tug-of-War isn't really about strength. ... In Tug-of-War, with a good strategy and good teamwork, you can win even if your team is weaker. ... I played my share of Tug-of-War in my hometown when I was young, and I rarely ever lost. Even when there was a ssireum athlete on the other team, putting the odds very much against us. Listen closely, and I'll tell you how I beat them back in the day.
First off, the leader is very important. That person is closest to the leader of the opposition, and the rest of the team looks at the back of their leader. If the leader seems weak or dispirited, then the game is already over.
Then at the end of the rope, you'll need someone dependable like the anchor of a ship.
Placing people is also important. Place the rope in the middle, and people go on alternating sides. Place your two feet straight forward, and stick the rope between your armpits. That way, you can put in all of your strength.
And lastly, this is the most important thing. When the game starts, for the first ten seconds you just have to hold out. You should practically lie down. Push your lower abdomen up to the sky, and push your head back to the point you can see the groin of the person behind you. If you do that, the other team won't be able to pull us to their side. Hold out for just ten seconds like that. Then the opposition will get flustered thinking, "Why won't they even budge?" Because they would have believed that they were much stronger. If you can hold out for that long, there will be a moment when the opponents' rhythm breaks.

Inside

American Horror Story. Double Feature: Death Valley

10×8

Richard Nixon: Sir, Kennedy cannot be trusted.
Dwight 'Ike' Eisenhower: You're just sore because he whooped you in the election.
Richard Nixon: Ha. He didn't whoop me. He stole it. Son of a bitch Daley handed it to him.

Richard Nixon: You once told me your motto was, "Never make mistakes in a hurry"...

Jack Kennedy: Dick, how's New York treating you?
Richard Nixon: Oh, just peachy. I think I actually spotted an American citizen the other day.

Jack Kennedy: Okay. So what's the mystery? Is someone in my cabinet a Russian spy?
Dwight 'Ike' Eisenhower: I wish it were only that...

Dwight 'Ike' Eisenhower: 5,000 people a year. It's a small number whose sacrifice ensures the safety of 190 million Americans.
Richard Nixon: And with the technology that we are getting in exchange we will dominate the world!

Richard Nixon: Well, I was right. That Ivy League bastard... he's gonna do it. .... I just got word that, uh, Kennedy is convening a secret study group. You wanna guess what they're studying?
Dwight 'Ike' Eisenhower: Oh, God almighty.
Richard Nixon: That's right. Little Lord Fauntleroy's just dying to tell the American people what's going on. Now, we can't just let this happen.
Dwight 'Ike' Eisenhower: Do we know who's in the study group?
Richard Nixon: Ike, you can bet your ass there's at least one goddamn Jew and one Harvard fuck. And they're gonna go to the media. They always do. And then we're... we're screwed royal.
Dwight 'Ike' Eisenhower: Have you been drinking, Dick?
Richard Nixon: No, I am drinking. And I've never had a better reason.

Richard Nixon: Now we have to start thinking about containment. We need to be prepared for anything, sir.

Dwight 'Ike' Eisenhower: You need to call Jackie.
Mamie Eisenhower: Oh, call Jackie?
Dwight 'Ike' Eisenhower: To express your condolences.
Mamie Eisenhower: I will do no such thing. The work I did in the White House, and all I got was scorn. "The Pink Palace" the press called it, as if there's something wrong with blush tones.

Mamie Eisenhower: Now, don't you tell yourself you've done anything wrong. Everything you do is for the good of the country. This is patriotism at its finest. And I'm proud of you. You should be proud.
Dwight 'Ike' Eisenhower: You be proud for the both of us.

Dwight 'Ike' Eisenhower: You've all been briefed as to what's going on, so let's get the first question out of the way. Yes, it's true. Every damn word of it.

Mamie Eisenhower: Can you believe "The New York Times" says adults across the country are starting to celebrate birthdays? And all because of me and the ones I throw for myself. Birthday parties are not just for children anymore. You're not the only one who's leaving behind a legacy.

Mamie Eisenhower: I need you to convince Ike to do the right thing.
Richard Nixon: Why would he listen to me? Ike doesn't even like me.
Mamie Eisenhower: That's true. He doesn't exactly hold you in the highest of esteem. Who does?

Troy Lord: Breathing exercises. That's what pregnant women do, right?
Jamie Howard: Yes, when they're about to go in labor. We're about nine months early.
Troy Lord: I'm sorry, I haven't had a chance to read my copy of "What to Expect When You're Not Supposed to be Expecting Because You're a Fucking Dude"!

Kendall Carr: You guys, there's always a logical explanation for things. Whenever some unexplainable phenomenon happens, everyone screams "aliens" or "ghosts", but it's never any of those things.

Jamie Howard: This pregnancy sort of came out of the blue.

Dr. Reyes: So... Is one of you the father?
Cal Cambon: Yes.
Troy Lord: Yes.
Dr. Reyes: And you?
Kendall Carr: Are not.

Troy Lord: Wait, wait, wait, how is it gonna come out of me?

Kendall Carr: Where are we?
Theta: This is a safe space.

Theta: Embrace the gift that has been given to you. You've been chosen. This is an opportunity to save an entire planet.
Kendall Carr: Save Earth by populating it with four-armed freaks?
Theta: Who said anything about saving Earth?

Calico: Life must find its own way.

Calico: Ignorance is bliss, sweetheart. Sit down, trust me.

Theta: Don't focus on the pain. Focus on the future.
Troy Lord: Please. Just tell me what happens next.
Theta: .... Birth.

The Man with the Umbrella

Squid Game 1×3

Player 001: I thought you were gone for good.
Gi-hun: I'm not going to die that easily.

Deok-su: What are you good at?
Mi-nyeo: Everything except for the things I'm not.

Gi-hun: But there are too many games. There are Ddakji Game, Dabanggu, Hopscotch, Biseokchigi, Tag, Don Katsu, Freeze Tag. And for girls, Gonggi, Elastics, and Cat's Cradle.

Sang-woo: Umbrella? Why?
Gi-hun: My mom scolded me a lot because I always lost my umbrellas. In the end, she only gave me broken ones. I always wanted to carry a good umbrella just like the other kids... You don't want the star? Do you want to switch?
Player 001: No, the star sounds great. We rarely ever get to see stars in this day and age.

Bad Boys for Life (2020)

Mike: Sorry, rich white people.
Marcus: We're not just black, we're cops too. We'll pull ourselves over later.

Mike: What's the bet?
Marcus: I win, we lay it down. We turn in our papers and we retire.
Mike: All right, well, when I win, you stop all this foolish retirement talk. We ride this thing till the wheels fall off. Bad boys for life!
Captain Howard: Uh, bad boys ain't really boys anymore.

Mike: I'm telling you, love is hard. And your relationship will be tested. And your father and I have weathered storm after storm. And we have a mantra that we say to each other in our darkest days, and it always seems to bring us back together. And, Reggie, Megan, I would like to share it with you... We ride together--
Marcus: We die together.
Mike: We die together. Bad boys for life!

Mike: Look, Marcus, I'm asking you. I'm begging you, man. I need this. Bad boys... one last time.

Mike: I can go after him vigilante style, or you can bring me in.
Captain Howard: Or I could shoot you myself.

Mike: That better be a safe... or a piano. Oh!
Marcus: This is my wife's car! And that's fucking Carver Remy!

Mike: Just let them both be Buddhist, Cap.
Captain Howard: Okay, fine. So the guy on the horse is riding toward our guy so fast that our guy's gotta get out of the way, so as not to be trampled by the horse. And the guy gets up, all dusty, and he goes: "Hey, where the fuck are you going?" And our guy on the horse, he says: "I don't know! Ask the horse!"
Mike: Ask the horse? Huh.
Captain Howard: Exactly. Yes! Yes! See that face...? That.
Mike: That?
Captain Howard: That's it. That was my face. The horse represents all of our fears and traumas. And it's got us running around a hundred miles an hour, to the point where we can't even answer a simple question. "Where are you going?" Where are you going, Mike?

Marcus: Whoa! What the hell is all that?
Mike: What you talking about?
Marcus: Mike, you don't need a grenade launcher.
Mike: Yeah, but I want one.

Marcus: Hey, look, all our lives, we've been bad boys, all right? Now it's time to be good men.
Mike: Who in the hell wanna sing that song?
♪ Good men, good men ♪
♪ What you gonna do? ♪

Marcus: Well, maybe if you sang the song like you meant it, it'd catch on.
Mike: Nah.

Marcus: Look, let me handle this, okay? Just back up. I'm gonna penetrate this man's soul with my heart.

Marcus: I made a promise to God.
Mike: To who?
Marcus: To God.
Mike: What the hell are you talking about?
Marcus: Look, I told the Lord that if you made it through that I would make no more violence.
Mike: He definitely knew you was bullshitting with that. Violence is what we do.
Marcus: It's about your soul, Mike. Our job is to protect and serve.
Mike: You're damn right. I'm about to serve this bitch right now.

Marcus: .... Mike, you fucked a married witch?
Mike: So all the shit I just said, and that was your takeaway?
Marcus: No, it's just a lot to digest. You think you know somebody and... Well, hell, now it explains why you dress like a drug dealer.

Marcus: You realize you will go to hell?
Mike: I don't believe in hell, Marcus.
Marcus: Well, it believes in you.

Marcus: Take out the pilot!
Mike: Take out the rotor!

Hell

Squid Game 1×2

Player 066:I'd rather stay here and die trying than die out there like a dog.

Police Officer: All right, then. Let me sum up everything you said. Someone offered tens of billions of won for playing games, so you followed. They made you play Red Light, Green Light, and they shot everyone who got caught. But when you said you wanted to leave, they let you go, and you don't know what they look like or where this all took place. Am I correct?

Player 001: You know, I don't have long left to live anyway. I don't want to sit around waiting for my death like this. You never know. I might end up winning in there. When we played Red Light, Green Light, I finished the game before you did.
Gi-hun: But still, that place is…
Player 001: After I came back out here, I realized everything they said was true. Life out here is more tormenting.

Gi-hun: You bastard! Do you think money solves everything?

Gi-hun: I'm sorry. I'm not in a position to help anyone at the moment.
