Burning Love

Big Little Lies 1×6

Madeline: This is my problem in life... I can never let dead dogs lie.
Jane: Well, but that’s the problem. He’s not dead.

Nathan: You know, it’s okay for things to be ugly sometimes. That’s, like, life.

Dr. Moriarty: When are you gonna leave him, Celeste?... When he hurts you badly enough? When... he hurts the children?

Dr. Moriarty: Get it all ready so we can at least remove «Where on God’s earth would I go?» from the equation.

Celeste: Perhaps my self-worth is made up of how other people see me.
Dr. Moriarty: I’m sorry. I... I’m just amazed by patients who can harbor such profound self-awareness underneath the hard shell of denial.

Dr. Moriarty: «.... In fact, you’ve repeatedly maintained what a wonderful husband and father Perry is. Haven’t you, Mrs. Wright? Nobody’s ever witnessed this alleged abuse, ever. Isn’t that true, Mrs. Wright? We only have your word. You said he was wonderful. Now you say he’s a monster. Were you lying then or are you lying now?..» You’re a lawyer. You know how important it is to have a witness.

Jane: Sometimes... magic comes from icky, Ziggy.

Ed: Sometimes that’s the... the essence of a happy marriage, isn’t it? The ability to pretend.

Bonnie: She is auctioning off her virginity on the Internet. For Amnesty International... so
it is for a very good cause.
Nathan: She’s... selling her virginity on the Internet?!
Bonnie: Good cause?

Madeline: So, you think our marriage is pretend?
Ed: No, I said that in every marriage there is pretending. Even the best ones.

Madeline: Fucking up doesn’t fix your life.

Grace: Good morning.
Frankie: Not really.
Grace: Oh, I’m glad to see you’re doing that.
Frankie: I’m not.
Grace: I’m gonna scramble some eggs. You want some?
Frankie: If you mean smashing my pills into them and feeding it to me like a dog... yeah, sure.

Frankie: Did you know that nutrition labels list ingredients in order of which ingredient is in the food the most?.. I always thought it was in order of appearance, like on Murder, She Wrote.

Frankie: I’m throwing away all my junk food. It all has to go: the tots, fluffs, puffs... pepper.
Brianna: Why are you throwing out the pepper?
Frankie: It’s a known associate of salt, which is almost as bad as sugar.
Brianna: Well, sugar in some moderation is not...
Frankie: No! Sugar turns into saturated fats, Brianna! Read the literature.

Frankie: I’m throwing it all away.
Grace: Wow, look at you go. Even your tub o’ pretzels.
Frankie: I started reading labels and do you know what’s in every processed food? Death.
Grace: That’s the spirit.
Frankie: That article you emailed sent me down a heart-healthy wormhole. Did you know there is still plaque in our arteries from food we ate as children? The hamburgers I slammed when I was five are still in me.

Madeline: I am her mother. It is my fucking duty to spy on her!

Ed: Well, could’ve been worse. Everybody lived to tell about it.

Principal Nippal: I understand Ziggy’s father’s not involved in his upbringing. Is that right?
Jane: The only thing I know about Ziggy’s father is that he’s keen on erotic asphyxiation and raping women.
Madeline: You did not say that!
Jane: No, of course I didn’t, but I wanted to.

I mean, it’s it’s not a place for smart people, Jerry.

Rick: I know that new situations can be intimidating. You’re looking around, and it’s all scary and different, but, you know, m-meeting them head on, charging right into them like a bull that’s how we grow as people.

Jerry: Oh, look, honey. It’s our son with Albert Ein-douche.

Jerry: You’re beyond our reasoning!
Rick: Takes one to know one.

Jerry: And now, Beth, if you’ll have me, I would love to have you.

Morty: Ohh, man. Oh, geez! Ohh.
Rick: I’m sorry, Morty. It’s a bummer. In reality, you’re as dumb as they come. And I needed those seeds real bad, and I had to give them up just to get your parents off my back, so now we’re gonna have to go get more. And then we’re gonna go on even more adventures after that, Morty. And you’re gonna keep your mouth shut about it, Morty, because the world is full of idiots that don’t understand what’s important, and they’ll tear us apart, Morty. But if you stick with me, I’m gonna accomplish great things, Morty, and you’re gonna be part of them, and together, we’re gonna run around, Morty. We’re gonna do all kinds of wonderful things, Morty.

Peter Quill: Anulax batteries.
Drax: Harbulary batteries.
Peter Quill: That’s nothing like what I just said!

Peter Quill: Family reunion. Yay.

Drax: You just need to find a woman who is pathetic... like you.

Gamora: Why would they do that?
Drax: Probably because Rocket stole some of their batteries.
Rocket: Dude!
Drax: Right. He didn’t steal some of those. I don’t know why they’re after us. What a mystery this is.
Peter Quill: What were you thinking?!?!
Rocket: Dude, they were really easy to steal!
Gamora: That’s your defense?

Peter Quill: I’ve been flying this rig since I was 10 years old!
Rocket: I was cybernetically engineered to pilot a spacecraft.
Peter Quill: You were cybernetically engineered to be a douchebag!

Peter Quill: You put your turd in my bed, I shave you.
Rocket: Oh, it won’t be my turd. It will be Drax’s.

Drax: Die, spaceship!

Rocket: DON’T CALL ME A RACCOON!
Peter Quill: I’m sorry, I took it too far. I meant «trash panda.»
Rocket: Is that better?..
Drax: I don’t know.
Peter Quill: It’s worse. It’s so much worse.

Drax: I bet it’s the one-inch man.

Drax: I thought Yondu was your father.
Peter Quill: What?! We’ve been together this whole time... and you thought Yondu was my actual blood relative?
Drax: You look exactly alike.
Rocket: One’s blue!
Drax: →→→

Gamora: That’s my point, Peter. What if this man is your Hasselhoff? If he ends up being evil... we will just kill him.

Peter Quill: So unbelievably uncool.

Peter Quill: Wow. You have your own planet?
Ego: Come on. No larger than your Earth’s Moon.
Drax: Humility. I like it. I, too, am extraordinarily humble.

Gamora: You own a planet and can destroy two dozen spaceships without a suit. What are you exactly?
Ego: I’m what’s called a Celestial, sweetheart.
Peter Quill: A Celestial, like a god?
Ego: Mmm, small «g,» son. At least on the days I’m feeling humble as Drax.

Drax: You are horrifying to look at. Yes. But that’s a good thing.
Mantis: Oh?
Drax: When you’re ugly, and someone loves you... you know they love you for who you are. Beautiful people never know who to trust.

Kraglin: Where to, Captain?
Rocket: Ego.
Yondu: No, boy! It ain’t healthy for a mammalian body to hop more than 50 jumps at a time.
Rocket: I know that.
Yondu: We are about to do 700!

Gamora: If you ever tell anyone about this... I will kill you.

Gamora: What unspoken thing?
Peter Quill: This... Cheers, Sam and Diane... a guy and a girl on a TV show who dig each other... but never say it because if they do, the ratings would go down... sort of thing.
Gamora: There’s no unspoken thing.
Peter Quill: Well, it’s a catch-22, because if you said it, then it would be spoken... and you would be a liar. So, by not saying it... you are telling the truth, and admitting that there is.

Peter Quill: You know what? This is not Cheers after all! This is whatever the show is where one person is willing... to open themselves up to new possibility, and the other person is a jerk... who doesn’t trust anybody! It’s a show that doesn’t exist. That’s why it would get zero ratings!

Ego: Now, you need to readjust the way you process life. Everything around us, including the girl... Everything is temporary. We are forever.

Yondu: I know who you are, boy... Because you’re me.
Rocket: ... What kind of a pair are we?

Nebula: Then we just go.
Gamora: No! He’s our friend.
Nebula: All any of you do... is yell at each other. You are not friends.
Drax: You’re right. We’re family. We leave no one behind. Except maybe you.

Ego: I wanted to do this together... but I suppose you’ll have to learn by spending the next thousand years as a battery!

Drax: Out of the way, dumber, smaller Groot!

Peter Quill: You said you were gonna eat me.
Yondu: That was being funny!
Peter Quill: Not to me!
Rocket: You people have issues.
Peter Quill: Of course I have issues. That’s my freakin’ father!

Rocket: Whoo-hoo! So, we’re saving the galaxy again?
Peter Quill: I guess.
Rocket: Awesome! We’re really gonna be able to jack up our prices... if we’re two-time galaxy savers.
Peter Quill: I seriously can’t believe that’s where your mind goes.
Rocket: It was just a random thought, man. I thought we were friends. Of course, I care about the planets, and the buildings... and all the animals on the planets.
Peter Quill: And the people.
Rocket: Meh.
Mantis: The crabby puppy is so cute. He makes me wanna die!

Drax: You don’t have to believe in yourself... because I believe in you.

Rocket: All right, first you flick this switch, then this switch. That activates it. Then you push this button... which will give you five minutes to get out of there. Now, whatever you do... don’t push this button... because that will set off the bomb immediately and we’ll all be dead. Now, repeat back what I just said.
Groot: I am Groot.
Rocket: Uh-huh.
Groot: I am Groot.
Rocket: That’s right.
Groot: I am Groot.
Rocket: No!

Peter Quill: You have priceless batteries and an atomic bomb in your bag. If anybody’s gonna have tape, it’s you!
Rocket: That’s exactly my point! I have to do everything!

Rocket: We’re all gonna die.

Peter Quill: You look like Mary Poppins.
Yondu: Is he cool?
Peter Quill: Hell, yeah, he’s cool.
Yondu: I’m Mary Poppins, y’all!

Groot: I am Groot.
Yondu: What’s that?
Rocket: He says, «Welcome to the frickin’ Guardians of the Galaxy.» Only he didn’t use «frickin’.»

Yondu: He may have been your father, Quill, but he wasn’t your daddy.

Peter Quill: What I’m trying to say here is... sometimes that thing you’re searching for your whole life... it’s right there by your side all along. You don’t even know it.

Kraglin: Captain found this for you in a junker shop. Said you’d come back to the fold someday.
Peter Quill: What is it?
Kraglin: It’s called a Zune. It’s what everybody’s listening to on Earth nowadays. It’s got 300 songs on it.
Peter Quill: 300 songs?

Mantis: It’s beautiful.
Drax: It is. And so are you. On the inside.

Ayesha: That, my child... is the next step in our evolution. More powerful, more beautiful... more capable of destroying the Guardians of the Galaxy. I think I shall call him... Adam.

Peter Quill: Ugh, dude. Seriously? You gotta clean up your room. It’s a complete mess.
Groot: I am Groot.
Peter Quill: I am not boring. You’re boring. You know what’s boring? Sitting there, playing that mind-numbing game. What’s boring is me tripping over your vines every day! I’m not boring!

Howard: Boy, what some people will do for love. Or the lack of it.

Diane: You were such a promising young girl, so bright, and you had my looks. Well, you had better bone structure than I did, but you lacked my height. And you had your father’s intelligence. You gotta do something about all that. I mean, you’re young, you’re lovely. Of course, you dress like a Polish refugee...

Diane: Oh, my God. Look at me... It’s hell, gettin’ older. Especially when you feel 21 inside. All the strengths that sustain you all through your life just... vanish one by one. And you study your face in the mirror and you... You notice something is missing. And then you realize it’s your future.

Diane: Lloyd! The Richmonds are flooded, the electricity’s gone off. God is testing us and I, for one, am gonna be ready. Where’s the vodka?

Peter: What branch of physics are you involved with?
Lloyd: Something much more terrifying than blowing up the planet.
Peter: Really? Is there anything more terrifying than the destruction of the world?
Lloyd: Yeah. The knowledge that it doesn’t matter one way or the other. That it’s all random. Originating aimlessly out of nothing and... eventually vanishing for ever. I’m not talking about the world. I’m talking about the universe. All space, all time, just... a temporary convulsion. And I get paid to prove it.
Peter: You feel sure of that, when you look out on a clear night like tonight and see all those millions of stars? That none of it matters?
Lloyd: I think it’s just as beautiful as you do. And vaguely evocative of some deep truth that always just keeps slipping away. But then my professional perspective overcomes me, a less wishful, more penetrating view of it, and I understand it for what it truly is. Haphazard, morally neutral and unimaginably violent.

Stephanie: You really wanna die? No.
Lane: No. That’s my problem. I... I always wanted to live.

Washington's Spies

TURN 4×10

King George III: Don’t you hear the music?... Oh, Handel. «Music for the Royal Fireworks.» My grandfather George II commissioned this to celebrate the Treaty of Aix-la-Chapelle, which affirmed his legacy. But... I fear if I were to recognize this Congress... my legacy would be the king who lost the Americas.
Frederick: Not all the Americas, sire... There’s still Canada.
King George III: It’s all ours, you gibbering idiot! All mine!

King George III: They want independence? I’ll give them blood!

Benedict: I’ll lobby the king myself for more men, then come back and thrash Washington in a way those gentlemen generals never could! Think of it... Commander of the British Forces in North America.

Maj. Hewlett: I’m sorry. I’m not going to turn you in. I was plotting to kill Simcoe, too.

Abigail: Why would you help me?
Maj. Hewlett: We’re in the same dirty business, aren’t we? If we spies don’t seek restitution for one another... who will?

Maj. Hewlett: If I were you, I would go straight to the top. He owes you, Abraham. I suggest you collect.

Maj. Hewlett: Through your New York connection? Just curious who that was...
Abraham: Hmm... I’m afraid you’ll have to remain curious.

Maj. Hewlett: I assure you, the man you knew as John Graves Simcoe... is dead and gone.

Gen. Clinton: Parliament is currently pondering the fate of the remaining North American provinces. Upper Canada has need of leadership...
Simcoe: Excellent! Who are we fighting there?
Gen. Clinton: No one, except the weather, I suppose... You wouldn’t be going there to fight, John. You’d be there to build, to create, to develop the territory, establish a local gentry. I mean, to all intents and purposes, you’d be Lord Simcoe. You’d do well to choose a lady.

Townsend: The only thing I regret is having to be prodded into doing something that my conscience should have dictated.
Abraham: Yes, but... we’re not looking for reward, just what we’re owed, same as soldiers.
Townsend: Yeah, but we weren’t soldiers, were we? Lies were our weapons. Sins in service of ideals.

Washington: I favor fact over form.
Rivington: What are facts but opinions expressed as truths?

Washington: In regards to the liberty of the press, we are agreed. My men are not here to escort you to prison, but to protect you from new reprisals. We shall need vigorous voices to have prod and check, lest our young country stray down the same road as the one we just defeated.

Washington: You should change the name of the «Royal Gazette.» Sometimes principle must be tempered with practicality. Good day, Mr. Rivington.

Lady Amherst: I suppose the rumors didn’t hurt.
Peggy: What rumors?
Lady Amherst: About your former beau, the gallant Major André.
Peggy: Why would anyone believe that?
Lady Amherst: Why wouldn’t you want them to? Rumors like that are the lifeblood of London society. You’ll see.

Rogers: Ephialtes. Brutus. Judas... Arnold.

Washington: Mr. Woodhull is to be the man of honor.

Washington: What is your crop?
Abraham: Cabbage.
Washington: Ah. Deceptively simple. I tested it at Mount Vernon once...

Washington: It was a very hard lesson, but I have learned well. A failure to settle accounts can turn friend to foe. Whereas the payment of a debt is freedom felt by all.

Washington: Our country owes its life to heroes whose names it will never know.

Abraham: «...The revolution never ends. It was hallowed as a triumph of the righteous over the wicked. But the battle lines were not clearly drawn. The real war, the one between good and evil, was fought within ourselves.»

The Law of Nature

The Mist 1x8

Connor: How do people get through the loss? How are you getting over Benedict?
Nathalie: ... Did you know that the trails that airplanes leave in the sky contain biohazardous toxic waste from hospitals? So many horrible things in the world. Just awful.

Nathalie: Everything in nature has a purpose, even violence. Animals kill to survive. They don’t kill for pleasure. Only humans do that, and when they do, they trespass against Nature’s order. That is why the Black Spring is here.

Connor: My purpose is to restore order.
Nathalie: It always was. You were just following the wrong law.

Adrian: A dad is supposed to love his son!
A man is supposed to love women. I guess we’re both messed up.

Vic: They are freaking out over there. They’re going all «The Last Stand.»
Kevin: What is that? I don’t know what you’re talking about.
Vic: It’s this game where you have to defend yourself from zombies and other survivors, everyone turning against each other... I only survived by house hopping.

Shelley: Did you ever have kids?... There’s nothing on earth that makes you feel so big and so inadequate all at the same time.

Gus: It’s important that I’m alive. It’s for everyone’s safety.

Nathalie: May She bless you.

Alien: Covenant

David: May I ask you a question, Father?
Peter Weyland: Please.
David: If you created me... who created you?
Peter Weyland: Ah. The question of the ages... which I hope you and I will answer one day.

David: You seek your creator. I am looking at mine. I will serve you. Yet, you are human. You will die. I will not.
Peter Weyland: Bring me this tea, David. Bring me the tea.

Oram: Observation, reflection, faith... and determination. In this way, we may navigate the path as it unfolds before us.

Ankor: I hate space!
Lope: This is why you need to do yoga.

Daniels: Dr. Shaw... How did she end up here?

David: I was with our illustrious creator, Mr. Weyland, when he died.
Walter: What was he like?
David: He was human. Entirely unworthy of his creation. I pitied him at the end.

David: Bravo! You have symphonies in you, brother.
Walter: I was designed to be more attentive and efficient than every previous model. I superseded them in every way, but...
David: But you are not allowed to create. Even a simple tune. Damn frustrating, I’d say.

Oram: Are they alive?
David: Waiting, really.
Oram: For what? What are they waiting for, David?
David: Mother.

David: Perfectly safe, I assure you. Take a look. Something to see.

Walter: Who wrote «Ozymandias»?
David: Byron.
Walter: Shelley. When one note is off... it eventually destroys the whole symphony, David.

David: It’s your choice now, brother. Them or me? Serve in heaven... or reign in hell? Which is it to be?

David: Shh! Don’t let the bedbugs bite. I’ll tuck in the children.

Walter: You’re next, Captain. When you wake up, we’ll be at Origae-6.
Daniels: What do you think it’s gonna be like?
Walter: I think if we are kind... it will be a kind world.

David: How about some music, Mother?
Mother: Selection?
David: Richard Wagner. Das Rheingold, Act Two. The Entry of the Gods into Valhalla.
Mother: Yes, David. As you wish.

Madeline: Yeah... it’s not gonna work.
Renata: I’ll even get Snow White to sit on your husband’s face. Maybe Dumbo can take a squat on yours!

Brunet, big eyes: Gordon Klein was kind of a fuck-up. Rich, powerful, but DNA... huge fuck-up.

Abigail: There are a lot of high-powered women who live here. Some run banks, others run Google or Yahoo and... sometimes I feel like you’re grooming me to get to a place you, um, couldn’t....

Renata: Have I become tragically unfun?... Oh, my God, I have. I’m now one of those people I swore I would never turn myself into... some corporate, controlling, anxious... When did we become past our spontaneous prime?

Principal Nippal: Okay, our first order of business today regards our Annual Fall Gala Fundraiser. Now, given the unprecedented success of last year’s Trivia Night with the theme «Dead Celebrities,» we’ve decided to come back again with yet another costume gala, this year titled... «Elvis and Audrey Night.»

Bud: How long have I known the defendant? Well, let me see. It depends on what you mean by «known.» Did you mean it in the sense of «Have I met him before?» «Do I see him around town?» «Is he a customer?» «Have I repaired a refrigerator or an air-conditioning unit?» Because we don’t get many calls for air-conditioning in Portland. Or do you mean it in a more familiar. «I’ve had dinner with him on more than one occasion,» or «He picked up the check, or I picked up the check.» Do we exchange gifts at Christmas, kind of relationship, or... I forgot the question.

Bud: Have I helped the Grimm? Well, let me think... Yeah. I have.
Riken: And you have no regrets for doing so?
Bud: The only regret I have is that I can’t help ’em now, because boy, would he have a field day here!

Alice Through the Looking Glass

Mr Phelps: Captain! The ship will run aground. It’s impossible!
Alice: You know my views on that word, Mr Phelps. Full sails. Full sails!

Alice: The only way to achieve the impossible is to believe it is possible.

Helen Kingsleigh: Years pass quickly for me now. Time is a cruel master.
Alice: Time is a thief. And a villain.

Helen Kingsleigh: Time is against you, and you’re being careless with it.
Alice: I once believed I could do as many as six impossible things before breakfast...
Helen Kingsleigh: That is a child’s dream, Alice.

Alice: Curious.

Alice: Curiouser and curiouser.

Cheshire Cat: It’s not impossible... merely... un-possible.

Alice: Find Time’s castle, borrow the Chronosphere... travel back in time to Horunvendush Day... save the Hatter’s family from being killed, and thereby save the Hatter.
Cheshire Cat: And do try not to break the past, present, or future.
Mirana: Shh!
Cheshire Cat: I was only trying to help.
Tweedledee / Tweedledum: What could go wrong?

Alice: I’m sorry to disturb you... but if I could just have a moment of your time.
Time: Time? Young lady... I am... Time. The infinite... the eternal... the immortal... the immeasurable. Unless you have a clock.

Time: So, being Time... I must give some of myself... for you to have me. Are you following what I’m saying?

Time: Everyone parts with everything eventually, my dear.

Time: Young lady... you cannot change the past. Though I dare say, you might learn something from it... This next generation.

Mad Hatter: Is it true that you heal all wounds?
March Hare: Time is on my side!
Mad Hatter: Why is it that you wait for no man?
Mallymkun: I just can’t find the time!.. Chessur! Where have you been? You’re late.
Cheshire Cat: Actually, I’m right on time.
Mad Hatter: I have time on my hand!
Time: You silly nitwits really think that I’ve not heard these cheap jabs before? Your attempts at mockery fall flat.
Mad Hatter: Look! Time is flying!
Time: Enough! No more wasting me!
Mad Hatter: I’m having the time of my life?

Time: Now is... exactly 1 minute till tea time. And until the young Alice joins you for tea... it will always remain 1 minute till tea time... for you and your... dunderheads.

Alice: I’m sorry. I used to think Time was a thief... stealing everything I loved. But I see now that you give before you take. And every day is a gift. Every hour, every minute, every second.

Alice: He used to say the only thing worth doing... was what we do for others.

Mad Hatter: Very important thing, a family. You only get the one.

Mr Harcourt: A full cargo aboard, Captain. Shall we commence with Kingsleigh and Kingsleigh’s maiden voyage?
Helen Kingsleigh: Time and tide wait for no man, Mr Harcourt.
Alice: Or, indeed, woman.

Jeime: ...if we don’t find a way out of this war, we’ll follow them.
Cersei: So we fight and die or we submit and die. I know my choice. A soldier should know his.

Daenerys: They’re beautiful, aren’t they?
Jon Snow: It wasn’t the word I was thinking of, but... but, yes, they are. Gorgeous beasts.
Daenerys: They’re not beasts to me.

Daenerys: We both want to help people. We can only help them from a position of strength. Sometimes strength is terrible.

Tyrion: What else could she do?
Varys: Not burn him alive alongside his son?
Tyrion: I am her Hand, not her head. I can’t make her decisions for her.
Varys: That’s what I used to tell myself about her father. I found the traitors, but I wasn’t the one burning them alive. I was only a purveyor of information. It’s what I told myself when I watched them beg for mercy... I’m not the one doing it. When the pitch of their
screams rose higher... I’m not the one doing it. When their hair caught fire and the smell of their burning flesh filled the throne room... I’m not the one doing it.

Tyrion: Who’s that for?
Varys: Jon Snow.
Tyrion: Did you read it?
Varys: It’s a sealed scroll for the King in the North!
Tyrion: .... What’s it say?

Tyrion: Cersei thinks the Army of the Dead is nothing but a story made up by wet nurses to frighten children. What if we prove her wrong?
Jon Snow: I don’t think she’ll come see the dead at my invitation.
Tyrion: So bring the dead to her.

Jon Snow: With respect, Your Grace, I don’t need your permission. I am a king.

Sansa: Now, I’m sure cutting off heads is very satisfying, but that’s not the way you get people to work together.
Arya: And if Jon doesn’t come back, you’ll need their support... so you can work together to give you what you really want.
Sansa: How can you even think such a horrible thing?
Arya: You’re thinking it right now. You don’t want to be, but the thought just won’t go away.
Sansa: ... I have work to do.
Arya: ... My lady.

Tyrion: Last time I was here, I killed my father with a crossbow.
Davos: Last time I was here, you killed my son with wildfire.

Ser Davos: Nothing fucks you harder than time.

Gendry: You were right. Safest place for me was right under the queen’s nose.
Ser Davos: Don’t be so sure. Safety is never a permanent state of affairs. Bad things are coming.

Gendry: You came to get me. You want me to come with you.
Ser Davos: Well, the thing you need to understand is...
Gendry: I’m ready.
Ser Davos: You...
Gendry: Let’s go.

Gendry: I don’t know much about swinging swords. But this... this I know.

Davos: This is Gendry.
Tyrion: He’ll do.

Cersei: I’ve come to believe that an accommodation with the Dragon Queen could be in our immediate interest. She has the numbers. If we want to beat her, we have to be clever. We have to fight her like Father would have.

Cersei: Dead men, dragons, and Dragon Queens... Whatever stands in our way, we will defeat it. For ourselves, for our house, for this.

Jeime: People won’t like that.
Cersei: Do you remember what Father used to say about people?
Jeime: The lion does not concern himself with the opinions of the sheep.

Ser Davos: Your Grace, this is Clo...
Gendry: Name’s Gendry, Your Grace. I’m Robert Baratheon’s son. Bastard son.
Ser Davos: He was meant to keep that to himself.

Tyrion: You may not believe it, but I’ve missed you, Mormont. Nobody glowers quite like you. Not even Grey Worm.

Jon Snow: I wish you good fortune in the wars to come, Your Grace.

Gilly: Do you know how many steps there are in the Citadel?
Sam: No...
Gilly: 15,782.

Sam: I’m tired of reading about the achievements of better men.

Tormund: How many queens are there now?
Jon Snow: Two.
Tormund: And you need to convince the one with the dragons or the one who fucks her brother?
Jon Snow: Both.

Tormund: How many men did you bring?
Devos: Not enough.
Tormund: The big woman?

Beric: Here we all are at the edge of the world at the same moment, heading in the same direction for the same reason.
Devos: Our reasons aren’t your reasons.
Beric: It doesn’t matter what we think our reasons are. There’s a greater purpose at work. And we serve it together, whether we know it or not. We may take the steps, but the Lord of Light...
The Hound: For fuck’s sake, will you shut your hole? Are we coming with you or not?

Jon Snow: He’s right. We’re all on the same side.
Gendry: How can we be?
Jon Snow: We’re all breathing.

Preacher 2×8

& Cassidy: Don’t you worry, a mhac. I’m gonna be the best da you ever seen.

& Cassidy: Y’know, me brother used to get night terrors. Me ma’d fix ’im something called a «Celtic Sandman.» Dram of whiskey, dram of honey, just a pellet or two of rat poison. Couple of swigs of that, you’ll sleep so hard you won’t even dream.

& Denis: Bite me. Bite me. Bite me. Bite me.....

& Jennie: «The best way to know your target is through ’concealed intimacy.» It’s in the handbook.

& Jesse: ...Look for serial numbers on the barrel of the gun? See if they can trace the...
Cassidy: Back to the owner. Yeah. Like they do on the shows. Makes sense.

& Ms. Mannering: Problems like the ones we’ve been experiencing... When there are more yous than there should be. When one of the yous isn’t supposed to be here. My question is: who? Don’t be afraid. The sooner I know, the sooner I can get you out of here. Who is it then? Who doesn’t belong in Hell?.. Going once... Going twice...

& Hitler: You know my crimes, Eugene. Why don’t you tell me about yours... from one evil person to another?

& Eugene: It’s a girl.
Hitler: You, uh... defiled her? Maimed her? Murdered?...
    Eugene: I kissed her.

& Cassidy: ...And there’s the boredom. You’ve heard every joke... Drugs barely work. And then everyone you ever cared or loved just... Just dies. Except you.

& Ms. Mannering: An Extrapolator. I told you we could make things worse.

& Jesse: Nothin’. All this... for nothin’.

Serious Mothering

Big Little Lies 1×2

& Madeline: The ocean is powerful. Mostly it’s vast. It’s full of life, mystery. Who knows what lies out there beneath the surface?
    Chloe: Monsters?

& Madeline: You know what? I’m a lady and I’ve never said this to anybody, ever, in my entire life, but I’m gonna say it to you... You can go fuck yourself on the head!

& Chloe: We’re half-sisters. Sort of. My mom was married to her dad.

& Abigail: You really shouldn’t encourage her to play with dolls.
Madeline: And why is that, exactly?
Abigail: It’s a little 1960s, not to mention sexist. Is it a Barbie doll?
Chloe: You can’t put a phone in a Barbie, dummy.
    Madeline: Chloe!
    Chloe: Barbies aren’t allowed anyways.

& Samantha: Scratch the surface of any Jimmy Stewart... Charlie Manson.

& Celeste: Men can be a little more intuitive than we give them credit for, you know?

& Joseph: ... Understood, but we need to pick our battles, and this is just...
Madeline: And sometimes our battles pick us. We can’t quit. We just can’t.
Joseph: Is this about the play or winning?

& Principal Nippal: She played a song, she invited Zigfield and Amabella to dance, and it seems your daughter has inherited the «let’s solve everyone else’s problems» gene.

& Chloe: How can you not wanna make up on this song? Come on.
Madeline: Make up, yes, not make out, silly.
Chloe: It’s what you guys do when you get mad at each other. Big hug, kiss, bang, and everything’s better again.

& Madeline: Can I just say one thing?
Eddie: You never leave it at one thing.

Twin Peaks. The Return. Part 13

Twin Peaks 3×13

& Bradley: A wrong has been made right, and the sun is shining bright.

& Evil Cooper: Starting position... Starting position’s more comfortable.... It hurt my arm when you moved it down here. But it really hurt when you had it down here. See?... Doesn’t that hurt your arm when I go like that? I think it’s much worse when it’s down here.... Let’s go back to starting positions. It’s really much more comfortable.

& Chantal: Utah. Mormons. They don’t drink liquor. They don’t drink coffee. They don’t drink Coca-Cola. And... they don’t even have sex before marriage.
Hutchens: Yeah, but when they do get married, I heard they... they can marry, like, six or ten women.
Chantal: Funny there’s not more of them... I guess it’s the drinks.

& Dougie: Coffee!

& Shelly: No, you know what? Why don’t you come down here, and I’m gonna serve you up a beautiful piece of cherry pie, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and lots of whipped cream...

& Norma: All my ingredients are natural, organic, local.
Walter: I know. You make them with love. ... Norma... you’re a real artist. But love doesn’t always turn a profit.

& Audrey: I feel like I’m somewhere else. Have you ever had that feeling, Charlie?
    Charlie: No.
Audrey: Like I’m somewhere else and... and like I’m somebody else. Have you ever felt that?
Charlie: No. I always feel like myself. And it may not always be the best feeling.
Audrey: Well, I’m not sure who I am, but I’m not me.
    Charlie: This is Existentialism 101.
Audrey: Oh, fuck you! I’m serious! Who am I supposed to trust but myself? And I don’t even know who I am! So what the fuck am I supposed to do?
