Go Get Mommy's Bra

& Alan: He’s got a boat and a pool?!
Charlie: I guess you can afford cool stuff... when you don’t have to sell your blood and sperm to make alimony payments.
Alan: Hey, hey, my relationship with my son is not based on having cool stuff.
    Charlie: And lucky for you!

& Alan: You could use my car, Mom.
Evelyn: You see? Now, that is how a loving son treats his mother. Thank you, sweetheart, but I need to look successful. Charlie, your Mercedes.
    Charlie: No, forget it.
Evelyn: Charlie, I am not leaving until you give...
    Charlie: Happy motoring.
    Evelyn: Thank you.

& Alan: ... Now, you know, this is the brake and this is the gas.Jake: Thought it was electric.
Charlie: He’s got you there, Alan.
Alan: Okay, this is the brake and this is the... electric.

& Alan: Remember, if you wanna drive Grandma’s car again... you can’t be telling her about it.
    Jake: I know.
Alan: Or Mom, or anybody else. Daddy doesn’t need the grief.

& Jake: Hey, Mom. Guess what we just did.
    Judith: What?
    Jake: ... Nothing in particular.
Alan: That’s a kids’ joke... “Nothing in particular.”
Charlie: He’s been doing it to us all weekend.

& Alan: ... And I’m sorry to hear about you and Greg.
    Judith: Thank you.
Alan: Is there... anything I can do?
Judith: Yeah, you can wipe that smirk off your face.

& Alan: I have to admit, that is a sexy little item.
    Charlie: It is, isn’t it?
Alan: Yeah, yeah. I’d like to meet the lady who fills this.
    Charlie: Actually, you know her...
    Alan: Oh, really? Lisa?
    Charlie: No.
    Alan: Jennifer?
Charlie: Who’s Jennifer? Oh, right. No.
    Alan: Well, then who?
Charlie: I can tell you, but once I do, I can’t untell you.
Alan: What are you talking about?
Charlie: Who borrowed my car last weekend?..
Alan: ... Holy mother of God!
Charlie: No. No. Unholy mother of us.

& Charlie: How in heaven’s name did that happen, mother?
Evelyn: Well, if you must know...
Alan: I don’t need to know!
Evelyn: Oh, Alan, grow up. I sold a 12-million-dollar house and I wanted to celebrate.
    Charlie: With the Saudi prince?
Evelyn: Don’t be ridiculous. He’s got nine wives and they’re all like 11 years old.

& Jake: Well, maybe my dad can talk my mom into getting back together with Greg...
Charlie: Enjoy fifth grade, kid. You’re obviously gonna be there for a while.

& Charlie: The next time you see her, give her a big hug... and let her know that there’s still one guy who’s willing to live with her.
Jake: Okay... Wait, you blame your mom for everything!
Charlie: That’s different. My mom’s Satan.

&  Всё-таки революционерки – какой-то отдельный подвид женской особи. Если футурологи пишут правду, что женщины грядущих столетий будут похожи на нынешних социалисток и суфражисток, мужчин остается только пожалеть. {...}

Delores Pasternak: Excuse me. We don’t end our sentences with prepositions. We say, “Why did you flip off Miss Pasternak?”
Charlie: I think that answers your question.

& Charlie: Come on, Jake.
Jake: What, I don’t even get to tell my side?
Charlie: Buddy, you’re 11. You have no side.

& Jake: This isn’t my fault! I was provoked.
    Charlie: You were provoked?
    Jake: Yeah, it means...
Charlie: I know what it means. And it doesn’t matter. What you need to do now is apologize.
    Jake: But I’m not sorry!
Charlie: You don’t have to be sorry. Just say it and look it. You’ve got those big, cute kid eyes. Use them.
    Jake: That would be lying.
Charlie: That’s your line in the sand? You muttonhead, you just flipped off your teacher.
Jake: Yeah, but I was being honest...
Charlie: And look where it got you.
Jake: ...... I think I just lost my innocence.

& Jake: Hey, Dad.
    Alan: What?
Jake: How come only one finger is the bad finger?
    Alan: I don’t know, Jake.
    Jake: This one’s okay, right?
    Alan: ... Right.
    Jake: Dad.
    Alan: What?
    Jake: Anything?
    Alan: No.
Jake: I don’t get it... Who decides?!

& Jake: Uncle Charlie, I had a weird dream... And it’s getting weirder.
Charlie: Hey, buddy. Why aren’t you asleep?
    Jake: I’m hoping I am...

& Charlie: Boy, it’s weird being on the other side of one of these calls.
Rose: I can imagine. Professional opinion?
    Charlie: Please.
Rose: Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs... I mean, she barely knows you. Where does she get off being so forward?
Charlie: Rose, we had one night together and you handcuffed yourself to my refrigerator.
Rose: That was different. We were meant to be together.
Charlie: Okay, I was gonna ask you the best way to end this... but I realize now that breakups may be outside your area of expertise.

& Alan: I think you know what you have to do.
Charlie: Break up with Miss Pasternak, right?
Alan: Hell, no. He’s getting A’s. He hasn’t gotten an A since naptime in kindergarten.
Charlie: But he’s not learning anything!
Alan: Charlie, get your priorities straight. I’m trying to get him into a decent middle school. After he’s accepted he can learn that Sacajawea... wasn’t “a bag full of jawea.”

& Griff: Get out of my neighborhood!

& Melody: Did you know that 40% of people don’t believe statistics when they read them?
    Tim: No! No, I didn’t.
Melody: So that means that 40% of responses should be ignored because the people giving them, they don’t believe them anyway. So they can’t be trusted.

& Griff: Do you... want some water, before you leave?
Melody: Isn’t it funny to think that I just poured hydrogen and oxygen into this hole in my face and now it’s merging with all the other atoms in my body to become part of me?.. That is, until my body decides to use it to flush out toxic waste.

& Dad: What’s the drawing? A dot painting?
Melody: No, it’s just an idea... Say these are the atoms that make up the wall. And these are the atoms that make up me. Look at all the space between those atoms. I mean, we don’t know what it is. It could be vacuum, dead space, dark matter, but it’s definitely space. In fact, the whole world is 99% space. ...so it’s just a matter of probability. If I happen to hit the wall at exactly the right moment, when all the spaces are aligned, then theoretically I should pass right through the wall.
Dad: Well, that’s great, hon. Yeah. Anyway... You know, we just want you to be happy, Melly. Find love and happiness. You know.

& Melody: Sometimes I do street surveys about surveys. And I go up to people on the street and I say, “Excuse me. What do you think about street surveys?”, “And what is your favourite
street survey subject?”
Once I went to a protest and I protested the protest. I had a placard that said, “Stop protests now!”, and I yelled, “What do we want? No more protests! When do we want it? Now!”
You ever googled the word ’Google’?

& Tim: You need help... Professional.

& Melody: I live in a bubble that no-one — no-one — gets into. I feel like an alien. I live in a completely different world to the everyone else is in. I can’t communicate with anyone. I can talk to them, but I cannot communicate. But you... Griff... you get into my bubble.

Everything Is Illuminated

& Alex Perchov (by Eugene Hutz): I will be truthful and mention that before our rigid search... I had the opinion Jewish people were having shit between their brains. Primarily, this is because all I knew of Jewish people was that they paid Father very much currency in order to make vacations from America to Ukraine.

& Alex: This is my miniature brother, Igor. I am tutoring him to be a man of this world. For an example, I exhibited him a smutty magazine three days before.
Igor: Why is it called sixty-nine?

Igor: What did people do before 1969?

My Name Is Earl 4x10

Earl and Joy's Anniversary

& Randy: Good morning, Earl.
   Earl: Good morning, Randy.
Randy: You know what team I’ve always wanted to join?.. The debate team.
   Earl: No, you haven’t.
   Randy: Yes, I have.
Earl: No offense, but I don’t think you’d be very good at that.
   Randy: Yes, I would.
Earl: I think debating is more than just saying the opposite of what the other person says.
   Randy: No, it isn’t.
   Earl: Yes, it is.
   Randy: No, it isn’t.
Earl: This is stupid. I don’t want to talk about it anymore.
   Randy: ... I win.

& Randy: What’s your name again?
   Joy: Joy.
Randy: You got a baby in there? That my brother’s baby?
   Joy: It is now.

& Joy: Don’t think I don’t hear you out there, Sasquatch! You better not be getting into my food in the fridge!
Randy: I hate you, too, you bitchy old screech owl.

& Randy: I’m really sorry I made Joy mad at you, Earl. If you need a place to sleep tonight, my couch is your couch.
Earl: Your couch is my couch, Randy.
   Randy: So, we agree.

& Joy: Who exactly did you invite to this party?
Earl: Randy was more in charge of the guest list. Who’d we invite?
Randy: People me and you know. Plus all of Joy’s friends. From her address book. “Guys I’ve phoned.”
Earl: Randy, it says “Guys I’ve boned.”
   Randy: That’s a “B”?.. I thought it was an “F.”

& Patty: I don’t know who you are, but you better not be hooking because you are much prettier than me and I got a teenage son to put through hairdressing school.

& Randy: I made a little video I think some of you would like to see. It’s called “Earl and Joy”, high dot, low dot, “A Love Story.”

& Catalina: I can’t believe I’m gonna die a virgin. I was saving myself for marriage. I hope you’re impressed! And that you exist!
Patty: I can’t believe I’m gonna die without giving it up for free. Just once I should’ve done that.
Darnell: I’ve always wanted to try a threesome.
Kenny: I’ve never kissed a man and I want to... Bad.

& Earl: What kind of man doesn’t know if he cares about his wife?..
Randy: A man in a coma. Or a man who got married over the Internet and he hasn’t met his wife yet ’cause she’s being shipped here on a boat.

& Darnell: This never happened!

& Koontz: Ray! Are you urinating in the lake?
    Drecker: Is there a problem?

& Tanya: The compensation. We said it would be “pay what you will.”
Lenore: What are you talking about? You said it was a free sample.
Tanya: No, Lenore, we said that the price would be based on performance. We don’t do free samples. I very clearly stated that it would be “pay what you will.”
Lenore: Then I’ll pay zero. That’s what I will.

& Drecker: So I made 300 bucks?
    Tanya: Congratulations, happiness consultant.
Drecker: Wait, how much did you take?
Tanya: I took 25%. I thought that was a good compromise.

& Floyd Gerber: How can I help and encourage you? I want the Tanya flower to blossom, not wilt*.
    Tanya: The Tanya flower...
Floyd: What’s stopping you from opening a bakery tomorrow? An advisor? I’m willing to be that advisor.

& Drecker: You were gonna invite him for tea?
Tanya: Sometimes tea is just tea, Ray.
    Drecker: Not in your world.

& Tanya: Actually I made a new year’s resolution not to disregard someone just because he’s not some masculine ideal. Because I find that most of the good-looking guys are all... jerks.
Drecker: Let’s change the subject, Tanya. Somebody put $400 on my credit cards. Now I’m over the limit.
    Tanya: That’s horrible.
Drecker: And I gotta say, it’s either Lenore... Or... it’s you.

& Drecker: Sometimes it’s great to piss rather than get pissed on.

& Tanya: Hey, Ray, it’s me. I have three numbers in my hand. {...} Do I have my finest agent on the case?.. I know, you’re my only agent, but no one else has to know that. Anyway, how serious are you about quitting? You can’t be serious about quitting because honestly, Ray, I think this could work. Just think about it... Are you thinking about it? Just think about it, okay? That’s all I can ask.

Cedar Rapids

& Tim Lippe: One of the reasons I love Brown Valley so much is that when you do business here, chances are good you know the person you’re dealing with. They’re a neighbor or a friend or a friend of a friend. And you can trust them because they’re part of a community. If there is a bad egg around, people find out pretty fast.

& Tim: Do you realize I used to just stare and stare at you when you were teaching us about the rainforests or whatever?.. And I would think, “I wonder what Mrs. V looks like with her clothes off.” And then, boom, we run into each other in line at True Value and, boom, here we are, making love... Like, once a week... It’s like it was fate or something. Did you ever used to look at me and think dirty things?
Macy Vanderhei (by Sigourney Weaver): ... You were 12.

& Tim: Oh, here we are. Mi casa. Junior suite. Hang on a second here. ... Figure out how this deal works... The key is like a stinking credit card...
    Macy: What is it? Tim?!
Tim: There’s an Afro-American man standing in my room!
    Macy: What’s he doing?
    Tim: He’s smiling at me.
Macy: Oh, no. Run for your life.

& Dean Ziegler: What? Why are you showing me a picture of your mom? She’s hot. No offense.
Tim: She’s not my mom. Okay? She’s my girlfriend, and we’re basically pre-engaged.
Dean Ziegler: Whoa, whoa. My bad. Beautiful woman, in any case. Wait a minute, what’s “pre-engaged”? ’Cause if I was “pre-engaged,” I will be pre-porking anything with a pulse.

& Ziegler: Who wants to get wasted?!

& Ziegler: You think you’re the Pope, Orin. And you’re not the fucking Pope. And ASMI is not a church. There is a separation between religion and insurance. It’s in the constitution!

& Ronald Wilkes: You gotta admire Ziegler’s style of debate: volume, proximity and repetition.

& Wilkes: What is wrong with you, Ziegler?
Ziegler: Shit! What isn’t wrong with me? I talk too much. I drink too much. I weigh too much. I piss people off.

& Ziegler: One, two, three, down your hole!

& Macy: Hey, Tim.
Tim: She’s not that pretty and she smokes!
    Macy: Tim?
Tim: I made love to a woman, Macy. Her name is Joan. She’s from Omaha, Nebraska and her mouth tastes like cigarettes.
    Macy: You slept with someone?
Tim: It was a mistake. You mean everything to me. Will you marry me?

& Macy: I was married for half my life. I’ve been divorced for all of six months. I wanna enjoy my freedom.
Tim: What?! Like, is there someone else?
Macy: Well, I wouldn’t put it that way. I mean, there’s no one person in particular, no.
Tim: What do you mean, “No one person”? There’s people? Like, plural, people?

& Macy: Bye-bye, little birdie Tim.

& Tim: I love you!
Bill: Yeah, you better love me if you’re gonna fuck me in the poop shoot the way you done.

& Ziegler: All right, listen. We look like a couple of homos out here. Let’s go in the room and discuss this like gentlemen, over Bloody Mary’s.

& Tim: I’m prepared to show you a little teat*. Will you dance with me, President Helgesson?

& Bree: I’m going to a party at my Uncle Ken’s house. You should come.
Tim: I don’t know, Bree. I did something today I don’t feel very good about.
Bree: I do that, like, every day.

& Tim: This would be marijuana, I take it?
Bree: It’ll make you feel better. Suck the glass dick, dude.
    Tim: It’s not...
Uncle Ken: Suck that fucking dick, man.

& Tim: Deanzie! I miss you. I miss your smile.
Ziegler: Yeah, yeah, I miss your smile, too. What are you doing?
    Tim: I’m high on drugs. I’m a 110% blotto*.

& Tim: You don’t have to do those things that you do with, like, strangers. You’re good, and you don’t need to do that.
Bree: You’re so sweet, Tim. But, you know, we’re all just selling something. A fuck, dope, insurance...

& Gary: Who’s this motherfucker?
Wilkes: I may look like some suit wearing businessman to y’all, truth is, I’m straight up gangster. And I always keep one in the chamber in case you pondering. So, I suggest for the time being, you let my nigger be, motherfucker.

& Tim: I sold my soul, Dean.
    Ziegler: I know, I know.

& Bill: Ziegler, Jesus. What the hell is this? Some kind of goddamn pajama party or something?
Ziegler: No, it’s a circle jerk, Bill. Drop your pants and grab some lube.

& Tim: I went into my one-on-one session with Orin in the Tiffany Suite, and we engaged in a filthy act of which I am totally ashamed... I let Orin inside of me, where he tainted the most sacred and special part of me... Of course, I’m talking about my integrity, which I thought was priceless, but turns out it’s only worth $1,500...

& Sherri: Oh, hey, you. Jeez, what happened?
Tim: Well, let’s see. I got beat up, and I got completely blotto on drugs and alcohol, and I befriended a prostitute... It was awesome.
Sherri: Well, I guess someone deserves two bags of honey roasted peanuts.
