Sherlock 1x3

The Great Game

& Bewick: Everyone says you’re the best. Without you... I’ll get hung for this.
Holmes: No, no, Mr. Bewick, not at all. ... Hanged, yes.

& Watson: Anything in? I’m starving. Oh, f... There’s a head. A severed head!
Holmes: Just tea for me, thanks.
Watson: No, there’s a head in the fridge.
    Holmes: Yes?
    Watson: A bloody head!
Holmes: Well, where else could I put it? You don’t mind, do you?

& Holmes: Look, it doesn’t matter to me who’s Prime Minister or... I know... who’s sleeping with who...
Watson: Whether the Earth goes round the sun.
Holmes: That again! It’s not important!
Watson: Not impor...?! It’s primary school stuff. How can you not know that?
Holmes: Well, if I ever did, I’ve deleted it.
    Watson: Deleted it?!
Holmes: Listen. This is my hard drive, and it only makes sense to put things in there that are useful. REALLY useful. Ordinary people fill their heads with all kinds of rubbish. That makes it hard to get at the stuff that matters. Do you see?
Watson: But it’s the solar system!
Holmes: Oh, hell! What does that matter?! So we go round the sun. If we went round the moon, or round and round the garden like a teddy bear, it wouldn’t make any difference! All that matters to me is the work! Without that, my brain rots! Put that in your blog! Or, better still, stop inflicting your opinions on the world!

& Holmes: Look at that, Mrs Hudson. Quiet. Calm. Peaceful. Isn’t it hateful?
Mrs. Hudson: Oh, I’m sure something will turn up, Sherlock. A nice murder. That’ll cheer you up.

& Holmes: Lestrade — I’ve been summoned. Coming?
Watson: If you want me to. Of course.
Holmes: I’d be lost without my blogger.

& Watson: But that... That’s the phone. The pink phone.
Lestrade: What, from The Study In Pink?
Holmes: Obviously, it’s not the same phone, but it’s supposed to look like... “Study In Pink”? You read his blog?
Lestrade: Of course. We all do. Do you REALLY not know that the Earth goes round the sun?

& Watson: Who was that? Why did you lie to her?
Holmes: People don’t like telling you things but they love to contradict you. Past tense, did you notice?
    Watson: What?!
Holmes: I referred to her husband in the past tense. She joined in. Bit premature. They’ve only just found the car.

& Holmes: Why are you doing this?
’Moriarty’: I like... to watch you... dance.

& Lestrade: Why is he doing this — the bomber? If this woman’s death was suspicious, why point it up?
    Holmes: Good Samaritan.
    Lestrade: Who press-gangs suicide bombers?
    Holmes: Bad Samaritan.

& Watson: There are lives at stake, Sherlock. Actual human lives! Just so I know, do you care about that at all?
Holmes: Will caring about them help save them?
    Watson: Nope.
Holmes: Then I’ll continue not to make that mistake.

& Holmes: Don’t make people into heroes, John. Heroes don’t exist, and if they did, I wouldn’t be one of them.

& Lestrade: Any ideas?
    Holmes: Seven, so far.

& Watson: Why have they got hold of an old master?
Holmes: Don’t know. Dangerous to jump to conclusions. Need data...

& Holmes: People have died.
    Moriarty: That’s what people do!

& Moriarty: If you don’t stop prying, I’ll burn you. I’ll burn the heart out of you.
Holmes: I have been reliably informed that I don’t have one.
Moriarty: But we both know that’s not quite true.

& Moriarty: Ciao, Sherlock Holmes.
    Holmes: Catch you... later.

End of Season One

&  «У них же нет души!» – эта фраза, словно луч яркого света, ослепила Илью. Люди живут, подобно животным, не понимая, что их жизнь конечна. Да, в этом все дело! Они живут так, словно бы им суждено жить вечно! Они открещиваются от смерти, делают вид будто бы не знают, что умрут. А ведь все они умрут, причем, очень скоро. {...}

House M.D. 4 ever

Brought by oskinpavel

Attack the Block

& Biggz: What the fuck was that?
Pest: Some orang-utan type thing, I’m not even lying, bruv.
Jerome: Hey, it’s breezin’, man. It looked like Dobby the house elf.
Dennis: Moses got shanked by a Dobby.

& Elderly neighbor: What did the police say?
Sam: Said it was one of the busiest nights of the year.
Neighbor: Bet they don’t even turn up. Only it’s not like the kids are scared of ’em no more. Walking around with knives, great big dogs, like they own the block. Excuse my French, but they’re fucking monsters, ain’t they?
    Sam: Yeah. Fucking monsters.

& Dennis: Ah, she’s a nurse. They don’t get paid nothing, fam. Oi, Moses. Why you always picking the poor people, man?

& Gavin-’Probs’: Moses, let us roll with you. We’re bad boys.
Jerome: Go away. This is big man business. You’re too tiny.
Pest: Yeah, get in touch when you get your first pube.
    Probs: Go suck your mum.

& Brewis: No idea. Not a bloody clue...
Ron: Maybe there was a party at the zoo and a monkey fucked a fish? ... Smells real though, don’t it? Smells like a shit did a shit.

& Ron: Oh, lovely fireworks.
Dennis: Nah, mate, it’s a alien invasion.
    Ron: Course it is.

& Biggz: We gotta take them all out. Gotta catch them all.
Pest: Calm down, Biggz, this ain’t Pokémon.

& Moses: Ain’t you gonna thank us for saving your life?
    Sam: My fucking hero.

& Moses: Yo, Hi-Hatz, it was a accident.
Pest: Nah, trust, bruv. There’s bare creatures chasing us. Big alien-gorilla-wolf motherfuckers. I swear.

& Jerome: This is too much madness to fit into one text!

& Sam: We should call the police.
Pest: You’d be better off calling the Ghostbusters, love.

& Ron: Even if it is an alien invasion, they’re four foot high, blind and got kicked to death by a bunch of kids. We got nothing to worry about.

& Sam: Whatever gang war you’re involved in, leave me out of it, please.
Dennis: Hey, this ain’t got nothin’ to do with gangs.
Pest: Or drugs. Or rap music. Or violence in video games.
Sam: This is the worst night of my life.
    Moses: Feeling’s mutual.

& Dennis: Moses. Ninja!
    Jerome: Tango neutralized.

& Pest: See? Is that a dog?
    Sam: No.
Pest: No, that is not a dog.
Jerome: That’s black. Too black to see.
Dennis: That’s the blackest black ever, fam. That’s blacker than my cousin Femi.

& Pest: This ain’t London-wide. This is localised.
Margaret: Yeah, localised in your head.
    Tia: Localized in your dreams.
Dimples: Drapsed by the feds? Yes. Big gorilla-alien-wolf monsters killing everyone? Uh-uh.
Jerome: Maybe they only fell on these ends.
Dimples: Please! What kind of alien, out of all the places in the whole wide world, would invade some shitty council estate in South London?

& Tia: How d’you know that woman?
    Moses: We met earlier.
    Sam: He mugged me.
Dimples: Whey! For real? That part I believe.
Tia: That true? You rob that woman?
Pest: Yeah. But afterwards she fixed my leg and we saved her from the monster. So... we’re mates now and it’s all sweet. We’re heroes, innit?
Sam: Heroes? Five of you and a knife against one woman? Fuck off!
    Pest: Raah. Cold.
Dennis: Nah, nah, nah, don’t build it up, luv. It weren’t all that. We never even touched you.
Jerome: The blade was to get it over with quick. We was as scared as you.

& Hi-Hatz: Better get the next one, blood.

& Sam: What’s Ron’s weed room?
Brewis: It’s a big room full of weed. And it’s Ron’s. It’s good. It’s like Fort fucking Knox up there.
    Pest: Plan.

& Hi-Hatz: This is my block! Get me?
    Moses: Not really.

& Pest: Bare weed and no skins. This is my worst nightmare.

& Pest: Have you got a boyfriend?
    Sam: Yeah.
Pest: Are you sure about him? Where is he? Cos he ain’t exactly looking after you tonight.
    Sam: He’s in Ghana.
Pest: You go out with an African man?
Sam: No, he’s helping children. He volunteers for the Red Cross.
Pest: Oh, is it? Why can’t he help the children of Britain? Not exotic enough, is it? Don’t get no nice suntan. Raah.

& ’Mayhem’: What if it jumps at us?
    Probs: Then throw the banger.
    Mayhem: What if I miss?
    Probs: Then we run.
Mayhem: What if it kills us?
Probs: No one is gonna ever call you Mayhem if you keep on acting like such a pussy.

& Sam: Good luck, Moses.
Pest: Moses versus the monsters. Kill ’em. Kill all them things.
    Moses: Allow it.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules

& Rodrick: This is a Greg thing. I don’t see why I had to come.
Mom: Because, Rodrick, this is a family event, and like it or not, you’re part of the Heffley family.
Dad: Yeah. That and we already paid for your ticket.

& Fregley: Hey, guys! Anyone for pizza? ... You know, I can’t believe people leave perfectly good food just lying around. I’ll save that for later.

& Rowley: Hey, I was thinking we should enter the talent show. I could do my magic act and you could be my assistant.
Greg: Assistant? No way. Doing magic tricks is bad enough. Assisting the guy doing the tricks? I’d never make it to eighth grade.

& Greg: Mom, from now on, I’ll be 100% honest. ... Well, that lasted about a week. Mom somehow didn’t appreciate the completely honest version of me.
    Mom: Happy birthday, Grandpa!
Grandpa: Next year, I want a chocolate cake.
Greg: That is, if you’re alive next year.
    Mom: Greg!
    Greg: Honesty, Mom!

& Greg: Don’t you understand? Rodrick isn’t beating me up anymore.
Rowley: But how are they not going to notice that the lock’s gone?
Greg: Please. They’re like 40. They can barely remember our names.

& Rodrick: It’s about time, little bro, that you learn the secrets to an easy life.
  • Rule number one, don’t be good at something you don’t want to do. ...
  • Rule number two, always lower Mom and Dad’s expectations.
  • Rule number three, never do something when someone else can do it for you.

& Greg: Grandpa doesn’t like TV. Instead, he prefers to watch the lobby on the security channel. ... Please, Grandpa. Please, can we watch a real TV show now?
Grandpa: TV is just a bunch of fakers. This is real life. It’s real life. You can’t beat it.

& Greg: How’s about we all go down to the games room?
Grandpa: You boys like games, don’t you?
Greg: The games room sounds fun... until you realize that all the games in there are from, like, the 1800s. My grandpa’s favorite is a really old board game called Gutbusters.
Grandpa: Now, remember, the object of the game is to read the joke card... and all the other players have to try not to laugh. Good luck! There is some real rib-ticklers in there!
    Rodrick: Yeah. You go first.
Greg: “Putting economic policy before fiscal responsibility... is like putting the cart before the horse”...
Rodrick: ... That is hilarious, Grandpa!

RoboCop 2

& — Are you Alex Murphy?
    RoboCop: No.
    — Are you human?
    RoboCop: No.
    — You are simply a machine.
    RoboCop: I am... a machine.
    — Nothing more.
    RoboCop: Nothing more.

& Lewis: Good eyes, Murphy.
RoboCop: Good as money can buy.

& Cain: You want me?
    RoboCop: Dead or alive.
Cain: Then one of us must die.
    RoboCop: Dead, then.

& Duffy: The cops didn’t give you trouble, did they? The usual shit from Reed. They’ll never prove anything. Hey, want some?
Hob: Hey, I’m a minor. Don’t want to break any laws.

& Dr. Juliette Faxx: You see, Robocop’s off warranty. Robocop’s command program... his set of directives... It determines his behavior. It’s time to update the program... and I would like to hear from each one of you.

& Lewis: Murph, wake up, will you?
    Patched RoboCop: Good morning.
Lewis: Come on, take him out.
Patched RoboCop: I think we should talk.

& Patched RoboCop: You are under arrest. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you... in a court of law.
    Lewis: He’s dead, Murphy!
Patched RoboCop: You have the right...
Lewis: You’re reading Miranda to a corpse!
    Patched RoboCop: I’m having trouble.

& Patched RoboCop: We should set an example, Anne. Your hair looks lovely that way.
Lewis: It’s OCP. They did something to you.
Patched RoboCop: I’m fine. Isn’t the moon wonderful tonight?
    Lewis: It’s still daytime.
Patched RoboCop: It’s the thought that counts.

& Patched RoboCop: Thank you for not smoking.

& Hob: Well, will 50 do it?
Mayor Kuzak: Fifty mil. That will do it. That’ll do it.
    — These people are criminals!
Mayor Kuzak: Why do you have to label people? I hate labels!

& Hob: Don’t leave me.
    RoboCop: I won’t leave you.

& Hob: I’m gonna die. You know what that’s like, don’t you?
    RoboCop: It really sucks.

& RoboCop: You’re coming with me, Cain.

& Lewis: That son of a bitch is getting away with it and we can't even touch him.
RoboCop: Patience, Lewis. We're only human.

Flu Shot

& Kenneth: Oh, Miss Lemon, how could you do that to your beautiful hands? With your flat, manly milking thumbs and your long, graceful knuckle hair...

& Jack: Now, have you ever had sushi?
Elisa: I once had a very undercooked fish sandwich at a parade.
    Jack: I guess that counts.

& Jack: I don’t know what to do about Elisa. She works all the time. You know she’s second generation Puerto Rican.

& Leo: Lemon, you don’t wanna get sick.
Liz: It’s not about that. It’s about fairness. I don’t want the shot.
Leo: When is modern science gonna find a cure for a woman’s mouth?..

& Tracy: He said it was a flu shot. But you know it’s really a truth serum.
Liz: It’s not a truth serum.
Tracy: Them why am I telling you you look like Tootsie today?

& Jack: Kenneth, I’m considering giving you one of the remaining flu shots.
Kenneth: No need, sir. It would be an honor to die at my post and be given the traditional burial of a Parcell man... wrapped in a Confederate flag, fried, and fed to dogs.

& Elisa: I live in the Big Apple, but I spend all my time with the Big Vegetable. Why can’t I have fun like an upper middle class person?

Sherlock 1x2

The Blind Banker

& DI Dimmock: We’re obviously looking at a suicide. It does seem the only explanation of all the facts.
Holmes: Wrong, it’s one possible explanation of some of the facts. You’ve got a solution that you like, but you are choosing to ignore anything you see that doesn’t comply with it.
    DI Dimmock: Like?
Holmes: Wound’s on the right side of his head.
    DI Dimmock: And?
Holmes: Van Coon was left-handed. Requires quite a bit of contortion.
    DI Dimmock: Left-handed?
Holmes: I’m amazed you didn’t notice. All you have to do is look around this flat. Coffee table on the left-hand side, coffee mug handle pointing to the left. Power sockets, habitually used the ones on the left. Pen and paper on the left of the phone. Picked up with his right, took messages with his left. D’you want me to go on?
Watson: No, I think you’ve covered it.
Holmes: I might as well, I’m almost at the bottom of the list. There’s a knife on the breadboard with butter on the right side of the blade because he used it with his left. It’s highly unlikely that a left-handed man would shoot himself in the right of his head. Conclusion, someone broke in here and murdered him. Only explanation of all of the facts.

& DI Dimmock: If his door was locked from the inside, how did the killer get in?
Holmes: Good, you’re finally asking the right questions.

& Holmes: I said, could you pass me a pen?
    Watson: What? When?
    Holmes: About an hour ago.
Watson: Didn’t notice I’d gone out then? I went to see about a job at that surgery.
    Holmes: How was it?
    Watson: Great. She’s great.
    Holmes: Who?
    Watson: The job.
    Holmes: She?
    Watson: It.

& Holmes: The world’s run on codes and ciphers, John. From the million-pound security system at the bank to the PIN machine you took exception to. Cryptography inhabits our every waking moment. But it’s all computer generated. Electronic codes, electronic ciphering methods. This is different. It’s an ancient device. Modern code-breaking methods won’t unravel it.

& DI Dimmock: Your friend...
Watson: Listen, whatever you say, I’m behind you one hundred per cent.
DI Dimmock: He’s an arrogant sod*.
Watson: Well, that was mild*. People say a lot worse than that.

& Holmes: John, concentrate. I need you to concentrate. Close your eyes.
Watson: What? Why? Why? What are you doing?
Holmes: I need you to maximise your visual memory. Try to picture what you saw. Can you picture it?
    Watson: Yeah.
    Holmes: Can you remember it?
    Watson: Yes, definitely.
Holmes: Can you remember the pattern?
    Watson: Yes.
Holmes: How much can you remember it?
    Watson: Look, don’t worry...
Holmes: Because the average human memory on visual matters is only 62% accurate.
Watson: Well, don’t worry, I remember all of it.
    Holmes: Really?
Watson: At least I would, if I could get to my pockets. I took a photograph.

& Holmes: Fancy a biscuit with that?

& Holmes: Careful! Some of those skulls are over 200,000 years old. Have a bit of respect. ... Thank you.

& Holmes: What are you thinking? Pork or pasta? ... I’d stick with the pasta. Don’t want to be doing roast pork, not if you’re slicing up cadavers.
    — What are you having?
Holmes: I don’t eat when I’m working. Digesting* slows me down.

& Sarah: So... what were you doing to keep you up so late?
Watson: I was attending a sort of book event.
Sarah: Oh. Oh, she likes books, does she, your girlfriend?

& Holmes: I need to get some air. We’re going out tonight.
Watson: Actually, I’ve got a date.
    Holmes: What?
Watson: Where two people who like each other go out and have fun?
Holmes: That’s what I was suggesting.
Watson: No, it wasn’t. At least, I hope not.

& Holmes: Where are you taking her?
    Watson: Er, cinema.
    Holmes: Dull, boring, predictable...

& Sarah: Is it just me or is anyone else starving?
    Holmes: Oh, God.

& Sarah: So this is what you do. You and John, you solve puzzles for a living.
    Holmes: Consulting detective.

& Holmes: How would you describe me, John? Resourceful? Dynamic? Enigmatic?
    Watson: Late?..

& Watson: Don’t worry. Next date won’t be like this.

& Holmes: I have high hopes for you, Inspector. A glittering career.
DI Dimmock: I go where you point me.
    Holmes: Exactly!

Sacrifice

Love is a willingness to sacrifice.
Michael Novak

& Ryan: I was going to get on Kindle, but then people couldn’t see how deep I am.

& Ryan: Until recently, uh, I was an attorney.
    Cinzia: Mm-hmm.
Ryan: High-profile litigation, corner office, expense account.
    Cinzia: Oh. Sounds awful.

& Ryan: You expect me to ditch a girl like that for dry-cleaning?
Wilfred: We all have to make sacrifices, Ryan. Like the story of Jesus Christ. I’m sure the Roman soldiers wanted to hang out at the Pantheon and stare at tits all day, but they knew they had a duty to kill Jesus.

& Wilfred: Face it. We both love Jenna. And we live to protect and serve her. I protect, you serve.

& Kristen: Here’s ten dollars. I’m buying the unopened food processor I gave you last Christmas. Okay?

& Jenna: Oh, God, Wilfred pooped on your lawn.
Wilfred: There’s symbolism in that poop, Ryan... And some grass... And half a slipper...

& Indian buyer: How much for this piece-of-shit flat-screen TV?
Wilfred: You’re selling the TV? That is the cornerstone of our friendship!

Doubt

“Doubt must be no more than vigilance,
otherwise it can become dangerous.”
George C. Lichtenberg

& Wilfred: Oh, Ryan, you have to experience this. Leathery, with subtle tones of menstruation. When this’s opens up, it’s gonna be beautiful.

& Wilfred: A date? With who?.. LoveMatchDating.com? Oh, my God. Please tell me that donkey-faced thing with the braces is not the chick you’re going out with.
    Ryan: She doesn’t have braces.
Wilfred: Yeah, you just can’t see them, ’cause they’re probably on her legs. How do you think she supports that massive donkey face?

& Ryan: She’s a partner at a marketing firm, she enjoys fitness, and she’s looking for a long-term relationship.
Wilfred: It’s way too soon for that. Let me find you a nice hit-it-and-quit-it chick. Gross... Out of your league... Lazy eye... Balding Asian grandmother... Gross! Ooh. Here we go. Angelique.

& Wilfred: I get it. You’re feeling better about things. You’re cleaning and yogaing and not smoking, and life seems like one big, fluffy, pink cloud.
    Ryan: Yeah? So?
    Wilfred: It’s not real.

& Ryan: No offense, but I think I know myself better than you do.
Wilfred: You’re right. What do I know?.. I’m just your neighbor’s dog who talks to you and doubles partner in Wii tennis. You’re totally fine.

& Bruce: Don’t you bullshit me, Ryan, you see him. We both know what I’m talking about.
    Ryan: Who are you?
    Wilfred: Ryan? Ryan!
Bruce: Shit, he’s coming. Do not tell Wilfred we talked. You... you call me when you’re ready to learn the truth.

& Bruce: One day, I stopped by my landlady’s to drop off the rent, and this guy answers the door. Now I can only assume, must be her mentally unstable son. It looks like he’s playing dress-up or something. But what I didn’t know was that other people didn’t see what I saw. Does this sound familiar?
Ryan: Yeah. I just never thought I’d hear this from someone else.
Bruce: Anyway, we smoke a joint. Tells me a couple funny stories. Next thing I know, I’m hanging out with him all the time. I’m his Goddamn best friend. Let me guess. He talked you out of getting a job, didn’t he? Keeps you smoking weed all the time. Hell, I bet he even got you to take a piss in some poor guy’s hat.
    Ryan: Not exactly.
Bruce: And then he convinced you to make out with your own father.
    Ryan: What?! No!
Bruce: Yeah. No. I mean... me, neither.

& Ryan: He’s... he’s my friend.
Bruce: Yeah, I thought so, too. One night we’re at this strip club. Wilfred slips me a condom. Shoves me in the V.I.P. room. Turns out, he poked a hole in the tip of that condom. Next thing I know, I’m the proud father of Cinnamon Sizzle’s first-born twins.

& Angelique: Ryan?
    Ryan: Um... yeah?
Angelique: It’s me... Angelique... Hey, just to warn you, I had a gin and Sprite... while I was getting ready. Okay, two.

& Wilfred: 23 inches, Ryan!
Ryan: What?! Why the hell am I on a date with Angelique and not the girl I picked?
Wilfred: Angelique is an alcoholic blow-job machine. And... you’re welcome.

& Ryan: Get rid of him? You mean kill him. What’s wrong with you?
Bruce: Oh, you don’t kill him! You take him out in the middle of nowhere and ditch him!
Ryan: But he’s not even my dog. I...
Bruce: Shh! He’s not your dog... but he’s your problem.

& Ryan: Bruce? What are you doing here?!
Wilfred: Who are you talking to, mate?
Ryan: Bruce. You don’t see him?
    Wilfred: See who?

& Ryan: You know... I really think I’m gonna be all right.
Wilfred: ’Course you are. I ain’t going anywhere.

& Wilfred: You want to know how I met Bruce? The truth is... I don’t remember.
Ryan: All right, well, at least that’s an honest answer.
Wilfred: There’s a lot of things I don’t remember: where I’m from, how I got here. There’s only one thing I do know. My name is... Jason Bourne.

Isolation

"Isolation is a delf-defeating dream."
Carlos Salinas de Gortari

& Ryan: What are you doing?
Wilfred: It was a simple plan. I boost Bear through the window, and Bear unlocks the door for me. But someone turned out to be a stupid ass! Oh, really?.. You twisted your ankle when you landed... Bullshit! Get up!.. Fine. Stay there, then. Whoops. Well, move!

& Wilfred: I’m a bit of a loner... it’s part of my charm... but first and foremost, I’m a pack animal. And so are you.

& HOBO: Damn rain!
    Ryan: Wilfred, stop!
Wilfred: Relax, Ryan. It’s Trash Face. I’m not being disrespectful; I’m marking him as part of their community. I’m also washing the schmutz off his face.

& Wilfred: Look around, Ryan. Do you know where you are?
    Ryan: Basement?
Wilfred: Rock bottom. Go upstairs before it’s too late. You’re playing with fire.

& Doug: Wine? Oh. Thank you. Wow. This is... this is good wine.
Ryan: It was... Fatty Arbuckle’s favorite.
Doug: Fatty Arbuckle... You’re all right, Ryan.
    Susie: I don’t get it.
    Doug: I’ll show you later.

& Ryan: Why would people assume that I’m the thief?
Wilfred: Really? You’re still not getting this? You’re the twitchy loner. The pasty neighborhood creep. And that’s not me talking, that’s Mrs. Patel.

& Wilfred: Now you have to go to that party.
Ryan: Are you insane? I can’t leave my house!
Wilfred: Don’t you see, Ryan? If you don’t go, then they’ll be even more suspicious! Next time it won’t be eggs on your window, it’ll be Mrs. Patel’s feces. And that’s not me talking, that’s still Mrs. Patel.

& Ryan: Okay. Fine. It’s nice to finally be a part of the community. But... but how can I enjoy it when it’s all at the expense of an innocent kid?
Wilfred: He’s not a kid, Ryan. It just takes the form of a kid. {...} You know what you should do? March on over to Mrs. Stevenson’s house and tell her the truth. Your neighbor’s dog masterminded multiple break-ins and planted evidence on her child.

& Wilfred: He got what he wanted.
Ryan: To be remembered as a dead, homeless junkie who stole their stuff?
    Wilfred: Exactly. To be remembered.

& Wilfred: Trash Face is probably smiling down on us from heaven right now. Hell, I bet he just found a fresh vein in one of his angel wings.

Sherlock 1x1

A Study in Pink

& Therapist: How’s your blog going?
    Watson: Yeah, good, very good.

& Holmes: How fresh?
    — Just in. 67, natural causes. Used to work here. I knew him, he was nice.
Holmes: Fine. We’ll start with the riding crop*.
    — So, bad day was it?
Holmes: I need to know what bruises form in the next 20 minutes. A man’s alibi depends on it.

& Watson: Is that what? We’ve only just met and we’re going to go and look at a flat?
    Holmes: Problem?
Watson: We don’t know a thing about each other. I don’t know where we’re meeting, I don’t even know your name.
Holmes: I know you’re an Army doctor and you’ve been invalided home from Afghanistan. You’ve got a brother worried about you but you won’t go to him for help because you don’t approve of him, possibly because he’s an alcoholic, more likely because he recently walked out on his wife. And I know that your therapist thinks your limp’s psychosomatic, quite correctly, I’m afraid. That’s enough to be going on with, don’t you think? The name’s Sherlock Holmes and the address is 221B Baker Street. Afternoon.

& Holmes: That’s a skull. Friend of mine.

& Mrs. Hudson: What do you think, then, Dr Watson? There’s another bedroom upstairs, if you’ll be needing two bedrooms.
Watson: Of course we’ll be needing two!
Mrs. Hudson: Oh, don’t worry, there’s all sorts round here. Mrs Turner next door’s got _married ones_.

& Watson: That... was amazing.
    Holmes: Do you think so?
Watson: Of course it was. It was extraordinary, it was quite extraordinary.
Holmes: That’s not what people normally say.
Watson: What do people normally say?
    Holmes: Piss off!

& Sgt Donovan: Freak’s here.
    Anderson: Bringing him in.

& Holmes: Shut up!
DI Lestrade: I didn’t say anything.
Holmes: You were thinking. It’s annoying.

& Watson: Well? What am I doing here?
Holmes: Helping me make a point.
Watson: I’m supposed to be helping you pay the rent.
    Holmes: This is more fun.
Watson: Fun?! There’s a woman lying dead.
Holmes: Perfectly sound analysis, but I WAS hoping you’d go deeper.

& Watson: What are you doing?
Holmes: Nicotine patch. Helps me think. Impossible to sustain a smoking habit in London these days. Bad news for brain work.
Watson: It’s good news for breathing.
    Holmes: Oh... Breathing! Breathing’s boring.
    Watson: Is that... three patches?
    Holmes: It’s a three-patch problem.

& Watson: Have you talked to the police?
Holmes: Four people are dead, there isn’t time.
Watson: So why are you talking to ME?
Holmes: Mrs Hudson took my skull.
Watson: So I’m basically filling in for your skull?
    Holmes: Relax, you’re doing fine.

& Angelo: Sherlock! Anything on the menu, whatever you want, free. On the house, for you and for your date.
Holmes: Do you want to eat?
    Watson: I’m not his date!

& Angelo: I’ll get a candle for the table. It’s more romantic.
    Watson: I’m not his date!

& Watson: You don’t have a girlfriend, then.
Holmes: Girlfriend? No, not really my area.
Watson: Mm. Oh, right. Do you have a... boyfriend? Which is fine, by the way.
    Holmes: I know it’s fine.
Watson: So you’ve got a boyfriend then.
    Holmes: No.
Watson: Right. OK. You’re unattached. Like me. Fine. Good.
Holmes: John, erm... I think you should know that I consider myself married to my work, and while I’m flattered, I’m really not looking for any...
Watson: No, I’m... not asking. No. I’m just saying, it’s all fine.

& Watson: That was ridiculous. That was the most ridiculous thing... I’ve ever done.
    Holmes: And you invaded Afghanistan.

& Anderson: According to SOMEONE, the murderer has the case, and we found it in the hands of our favourite psychopath.
Holmes: I’m not a psychopath, Anderson, I’m a high-functioning sociopath! Do your research.

& Holmes: If you were dying... If you’d been murdered — in your very last few seconds what would you say?
Watson: “Please, God, let me live.”
    Holmes: Use your imagination!

& Holmes: Don’t you see? Rachel! Oh... Look at you lot. You’re all so vacant*. Is it nice not being me? It must be so relaxing.

& Holmes: Anderson, don’t talk out loud. You lower the IQ of the whole street.

& Cabbie: One thing about being a cabbie — you always know a nice quiet spot for a murder.

& Cabbie: Well, what do you think?
    Holmes: It’s up to you.
Cabbie: You’re the one who’s going to die here.

& Cabbie: I want your best game.
    Holmes: It’s not a game, it’s chance.
Cabbie: I’ve played four times. I’m alive. It’s not chance, Mr Holmes, it’s chess. It’s a game of chess, with one move... and one survivor.

& Cabbie: I know how people think. I know how people think I think. I can see it all like a map inside my head. Everyone’s so stupid, even you. Or maybe God just loves me.
Holmes: Either way, you’re wasted as a cabbie.

& Cabbie: Aneurysm. Right in ’ere. Any breath could be my last.
Holmes: And because you’re dying, you’ve just murdered four people.
Cabbie: I’ve outlived four people. That’s the most fun you can have with an aneurysm.
Holmes: No... No, there’s something else. You didn’t just kill four people because you’re bitter. Bitterness is a paralytic. Love is a much more vicious motivator.

& Holmes: Who’d sponsor a serial killer?
Cabbie: You’re not the only one to enjoy a good murder.

& Cabbie: What do you think? Can you beat me? Are you clever enough... to bet your life? I bet you get bored, don’t you? I know you do. A man like you. So clever. But what’s the point of being clever if you can’t prove it? Still the addict. But this... this is what you’re really addicted to. You’ll do anything... anything at all, to stop being bored. You’re not bored now, are ya? Isn’t it good?

& Watson: You were going to take that damn pill, weren’t you?
Holmes: Course I wasn’t. Biding my time. Knew you’d turn up.
Watson: No, you didn’t. That’s how you get your kicks, isn’t it — you risk your life to prove you’re clever.
Holmes: Why would I do that?
    Watson: Because you’re an idiot.

& Holmes: End of Baker Street there’s a good Chinese. Stays open till two. You can tell a good Chinese by the bottom third of the door handle.

& Watson: What are you so happy about?
    Holmes: Moriarty.
    Watson: What’s Moriarty?
    Holmes: I’ve absolutely no idea.

Compassion

“Make no judgements where you have no compassion.”
Anne McCaffrey

& Catherine: Ryan! Oh! That’s my baby! My gorgeous boy! Pried from my womb. I had planned a vaginal birth, but Mr. Breach Bottom here had other plans, and so the doctor cut me open and pulled this beautiful miracle from my uterus like a rabbit from a hat.

& Catherine: You look like your father... minus the thin lips and the soulless eyes. Um... Sorry, sorry. I should not have said that. I don’t hold any animosity toward your father. It has taken me years of therapy, but now I can actually appreciate your father for what he is... the man who pays the bills.

& Catherine: Fish sticks and peanut butter tacos... your favorite breakfast.
Ryan: Thanks. But these days, I eat breakfast for breakfast.

& Wilfred: You know what this is?
Ryan: Let me guess. The length of my dick?
Wilfred: No, it’s the amount of compassion you’ve shown towards your mum... And the length of your dick. They happen to be equal in this case. Doesn’t happen often, but it’s pretty cool when this shit lines up. Like an eclipse.

& Ryan: The only thing I’m afraid of is what embarrassing thing my mother is going to do next... Oh, my God! What are you doing?!
Catherine: What does it look like I’m doing, silly? I’m making a statement about corporate greed and the death of selflessness through interpretative movement painting.
Ryan: This is already online, isn’t it?
Catherine: Come, join me, my child.
Wilfred: I thought you’d never ask.

& Catherine: I’m Ryan’s mom.
Jenna: Oh, it’s so nice to finally meet you, Mrs. Newman!
Catherine: Mrs. Newman is my slave name. You can call me Catherine.

& Catherine: ...And then when Ryan was eight, I walked in and found him with his little penis pressed up against the TV screen.
    Ryan: More rice?!
Catherine: No thank you, sweetheart. Turns out, he was trying to wanky-wanky to Mona from Who’s the Boss.
    Jenna: Adorable.

& Wilfred: Tell me something, Ryan, how old was Mum when she lost it? 20 years ago... that makes her... Well, just a bit older than you are now. So maybe you are like her. That’s the fear I’m smelling, isn’t it?
    Ryan: I’m not crazy!
Wilfred: ...Said the man to the dog.

& Ryan: You son of a bitch!
Wilfred: How is that an insult? I’ve never understood that.

& Ryan: This is all your fault! You backstabber! Eat shit! Eat shit!
Wilfred: Again, your tone says insult, but what I’m hearing is a tempting offer.

& Dr. Cahill: Ryan, how are we feeling today?
Ryan: Aside from the fact that I started smoking, I feel pretty good.
Dr. Cahill: Well, you’ve made a lot of progress over the last three days, and based on years of diagnostic experience and your lack of health insurance, it is my medical opinion that you are not a danger to yourself or to others, and I’m releasing you.

& Wilfred: Okay, now I want you to think of a card.
    Ryan: Got one.
    Wilfred: Good. Now forget it.
    Ryan: Okay.
    Wilfred: Think of another card.
    Ryan: Okay.
Wilfred: Perfect. Now forget that one, too. I want you to think of one more card.
    Ryan: Fine.
Wilfred: What card were you thinking of?
    Ryan: Four of clubs.
Wilfred: Turn over the top card.
    Ryan: Ten of hearts.
Wilfred: Keep going until you hit the four of clubs. Hey, come back! I’ll show you how it’s done.

& Darcy: I think that was legally your fault.

& Jane Foster: How’d you get inside that cloud?
Darcy: Also, how could you eat an entire box of Pop-Tarts and still be this hungry?

& Thor: I’ll tell you everything you wish to know.
    Jane: Everything?
Thor: Yes. All the answers you seek will be yours once I reclaim Mjolnir.
    Darcy: Myeu-muh? What’s Myeu-muh?

& Thor: I need a horse!

    Jane: Like an Einstein-Rosen Bridge?
Thor: More like a Rainbow Bridge.
Jane: God, I hope you’re not crazy.

& Thor: Once I have Mjolnir, I will return the items they’ve stolen from you. Deal?
Jane: No. Look what’s down there. You think you’re just gonna walk in, grab our stuff and walk out?
Thor: No. I’m going to fly out.

& Thor: I had it all wrong.
Erik Selvig: It’s not a bad thing finding out that you don’t have all the answers. You start asking the right questions.

& Jane: What happened?
Thor: We drank, we fought, he made his ancestors proud.

& Jane: I still don’t think you’re the God of Thunder. But you ought to be.

& Agent Garrett: Base, we’ve got Xena, Jackie Chan and Robin Hood.

& Agent Coulson: Hello! You are using unregistered weapons technology. Identify yourself.

& Jane: Oh. My. God.

& Thor: Know this, Son of Coul. You and I, we fight for the same cause, the protection of this world. From this day forward, you can count me as your ally if you return the items you have taken from Jane.
    Jane: Stolen.
    Agent Coulson: Borrowed.

RoboCop

& Clarence J. Boddicker: Can you fly, Bobby?

& Boddicker: You probably don’t think I’m a very nice guy. Do you?
Officer Alex J. Murphy: Buddy, I think you’re slime.
Boddicker: See, I got this problem. Cops don’t like me. So I don’t like cops.

& RoboCop: Thank you for your cooperation. Good night.

& Reporter: Robo, excuse me, Robo, any special message for all the kids watching at home?
    RoboCop: Stay out of trouble.

& Dick Jones: I remember when I was a young executive for this company... I used to call the Old Man funny names. “Iron butt.” “Boner.” Once I even called him... “asshole”. But there was always respect. I always knew where the line was drawn.

& Bob Morton: The Old Man thought it was pretty important... Dick.
Dick Jones: You know, he’s a sweet old man. And he means well. But he’s not gonna live forever. And I’m number two around here. Pretty simple math, huh, Bob? You just... fucked with the wrong guy.

& RoboCop: Excuse me, I have to go. Somewhere there is a crime happening.

& Officer Anne Lewis: I didn’t question him. I asked him his name. He didn’t know.
Bob Morton: Let me make it real clear for you. He doesn’t have a name. He’s got a program. He’s product.

& RoboCop: Drop it. Dead or alive, you are coming with me.

& RoboCop: Book him.
    Sgt. Reed: What’s the charge?
    RoboCop: He’s a cop killer.

& Lewis: Murphy... I’m a mess...
RoboCop: They’ll fix you. They fix everything.

Two and a Half Men 1x5

The Last Thing You Want Is to Wind Up with a Hump

& Gloria: How’s Jake doing?
Charlie: Jake’s fine. He’s 10. He’s got his whole life ahead of him. Me, on the other hand, I’m sitting in the hot sun, in rented pants listening to myself blink.

& Alan: Jake, for the last time, nobody got “creamed.” No one won, no one lost.
Jake: Yeah. Except for us. 12-2.
Charlie: It doesn’t matter if you win or lose. It’s whether or not you beat the spread*.

& Alan: Charlie, we are trying to teach the kids not to keep score.
Charlie: You should’ve thought of that before you taught them to count.

& Charlie: My brother, Alan, warned me not to go out with you tonight.
Kate: That’s funny. Everybody warned me not to go out with you.
Charlie: It worked for Romeo and Juliet... up until the poison and the stabbing.
Kate: Charlie, I have a confession. I haven’t been out with a man other than my husband in 12 years.
Charlie: That’s not a problem. A couple of things have changed, I can bring you up to date.
    Kate: Please do.
Charlie: All right, well, nowadays, women pay for dinner. And of course, sex is a given.
Kate: I’ll tell you one thing, I am not paying for dinner.

The Beaver

& Walter: Who are you?
Beaver: I’m the Beaver, Walter, and I’m here to save your goddamn life.

& Jerry Co employee: And who exactly are you supposed to be?
Beaver: Bollocks. Did I forget to introduce meself? You may simply call me the Beaver.

& Walter: Sometimes we reach a point where, in order to go on, we have to wipe the slate* clean. We start to see ourselves as a box that we’re trapped inside. And no matter how we try and escape, self-help, therapy, drugs, we just sink further and further down. The only way to truly break out of the box is just to get rid of it altogether. I mean, you built it in the first place. If the people around you are breaking your spirit, who needs them? Your wife who pretends to love you, your son who can’t even stand you. I mean, put them out of their misery. Starting over isn’t crazy. Crazy is being miserable and walking around half asleep, numb, day after day after day. Crazy is pretending to be happy. Pretending that the way things are is the way they have to be for the rest of your bleeding life. All the potential, hope, all that joy, feeling, all that passion that life has sucked out of you. Reach out, grab a hold of it and snatch it back from that blood-sucking rabble*.

& Walter: Hey, little fella. How are you?
    Henry: Good.
    Walter: What’s that?
Henry: It’s a brain. Mom says yours got broken.
Walter: This will come in handy.
    Henry: So, are you crazy?
Walter: Maybe. We’re working on it.

& Norah / Porter: Good afternoon, graduates, dead poets, painters, future Einsteins, and all those in between. Today I’m here to warn you that you are being lied to. Our parents, our teachers, our doctors have lied to us. And it’s the exact same lie. The same six words, “Everything is going to be okay.” But what if it isn’t?

& Norah / Porter: What if some of human experience is just something you inherit, like curly hair or blue eyes? What if pain is just in your DNA and tragedy is your birthright? Or what if... sometimes... right out of the blue, when you least expect it, shit just happens? “Shit just happens.”

& Norah: So what do I do with that? What do any of us do, besides lie? This is what I believe. ... While everything may not always be okay, one thing I know is true. You do not have to be alone.
