The Many Mouths of Andrew Colville

Elementary 2×19

& Holmes: I’m not suggesting we be motivated by anything as vulgar as an enormous finder’s fee, but I just thought you might like to bid adieu to our 17th straight month of winter and join me in sunnier climes for a week.
Watson: That sounds fun. You should go.
Holmes: It’s only fun in the right company.

& Holmes: Anyway, your feelings are trivial ’cause we have a murderer to catch.

& Holmes: The bite mark, timeless expression of the frustration of impotence. And for us, a stroke of luck.

& Holmes: Just a few thousand more to go.
    Watson: 27,000.

& Holmes: Watson.
    Watson: Hmm?
    Holmes: Have you slept?

& Watson: Is that a giant prom dress?

& Watson: And in return, you’re going to...?
Holmes: I meant to record myself performing the songs from something called Frozen.
    Watson: Oh. Break a leg.

& Holmes: There will come a day when criminals realize that they shouldn’t use social media, but I just hope I don’t live to see it.

& Watson: I was standing over a dying patient and I was thinking about justice. A doctor’s not supposed to do that.
Holmes: That sounds more like a consulting detective.

& Underwood: If you need a punching bag, I will stand here and take the punches, as I have done time and time again, since I swore my oath. But I would much rather get back to work, as you’ve asked me to do.
President Walker: You are out of line, Frank!
Underwood: Dismiss me or keep swinging, Mr. President...
    President Walker: ... You’re dismissed.
    Underwood: Thank you, sir.

& President Walker: I try to soak it all in while I can. All the history.
Underwood: Presidents who obsess over history obsess about their place in it, instead of forging it.
    President Walker: Who said that?
    Underwood: I did... just now.

& President Walker: Let’s assume... in one of these chairs, staring at this wall, is where Truman decided to drop the bomb, and see if we feel anything..... Nothing. You?
    Underwood: ... No, nothing.

& Underwood: When the money’s coming your way, you don’t ask any questions.

& Claire: What should we serve the Walkers?
    Underwood: Cyanide.
Claire: Saving that for dessert. What about a main course?

& Mr. Feng: When you only talk business, you stop appreciating beauty.
Doug: I don’t have much time for beauty.
    Mr. Feng: That’s a shame.
Doug: For people like you to smell the flowers, some of us have to pull the weeds.

& Ayla: You’re hiding something, Seth.
Seth: I’m not hiding anything. I’m just a guy with low blood sugar.

Nymphomaniac: Vol. II

& Seligman: Wagner, Das Rheingold. The descent into Nibelheim... Was it that bad?
Joe: Try to imagine that in one fell swoop, you lost all desire to read and all your passion for books and letters.
Seligman: I don’t even know if I can imagine that.

& Seligman: There’s nothing sexual about me. It’s not as uncommon as you would think. And of course, I’ve read a lot about sexual subjects: Canterbury Tales, Decameron, Thousand and One Nights... You name it and I’ve read it with great interest and enjoyment, but only literary enjoyment. But I... But I think maybe it makes me a better listener to your story, and I have no preconceived notions or preferences. I’m actually the best judge you could give your story to. And when it comes to deciding whether you’re a bad human being or not, I’m... I’ve no problems with that. Because I don’t look at you through the glasses coloured by sexuality or sexual experience. I’m a virgin. I’m innocent.

& Seligman: You shouldn’t use that word. It’s not what you call politically correct.
Joe: ’Negro’... Well, excuse me, but in my circles, it’s always been a mark of honour to call a spade a spade. Each time a word becomes prohibited, you remove a stone from the democratic foundation. Society demonstrates its impotence in the face of a concrete problem by removing words from the language.
Seligman: I think society would claim that... that politically correctness is a very precise expression of democratic concern for minorities.
Joe: And I say that society is as cowardly as the people in it — who in my opinion are also too stupid for democracy.

& Joe: I have no doubt in the human qualities. The human qualities can be expressed in one word: hypocrisy. We elevate those who say right but mean wrong and mock those who say wrong but mean right.

& Joe: You don’t even know my name!
K: I’m not interested in your name. Here, your name is... Fido.

& Seligman: You know, I occupy myself mostly with texts, but sometimes the text can seem so... so empty, so unfathomably empty. It could be the best text by the most famous author. The solution might be to change your point of view.
    Joe: I don’t get that.
Seligman: Things hide when they become familiar. But if you look at it from another angle, they might take on a new meaning.

& Joe: Sexuality is the strongest force in human beings. To be born with a forbidden sexuality must be agonizing. The paedophile, who manages to get through life with the shame of his desire while never acting on it, deserves a bloody medal.

& Father: It’s actually the souls of the tress that we see in the winter.
Joe: I think they look like human souls.
Father: Yeah, you’re right. They do look like human souls. Twisted souls, regular souls, crazy souls, all depending on the kind of lives human beings lead.

& Joe: The question [is] whether jealousy is the fear of sharing or the fear of losing...

& Joe: It’s said to be difficult to take someone’s life. I would’ve said that it’s more difficult not to. For a human being, killing is the most natural thing in the world. We’re created for it.

& Emily: If you look in your heart, you know.
Alec: The heart is a feeble instrument. Easily fooled.

& Kellogg: I bet you had notes. How far did you get?
    Alec: First card.
Kellogg: Alec, did you really think they were gonna let you march in here and play Steve Jobs without a fight?

& Kellogg: You know what you do when you have a weak hand? You front. You bully. You do anything you need to to convince the other guy to fold. And stop buying suits off the rack.

& Kiera: The system protects the people, right?
    Carlos: It’s supposed to.
Kiera: Then in order to protect the people, we must protect the system.
Carlos: What about the truth? Where does that fit in?

& Sid Elcos: Look at the history of your profession...
Kiera: I’m not getting out of here without a lecture, am I?
Sid Elcos: London, 1829, Robert Peele forms the metropolitan police, the first modern force responsive to the people. The whole nineteenth century is a whole story of the police freeing themselves from the political machines. Only when they are independent are they free to ask the right questions.

& Kiera: I was taught to believe we all had a responsibility to protect the system, but I’m starting to think that’s the wrong way to look at it. Each of us has our own responsibility to the truth.

& Alec: Wow. This is very Marty McFly right now.

Nymphomaniac: Vol. I

& Joe: Maybe I know where to start. But if you’re to understand, I’ll... I’ll have to tell you the whole story. And it will be long.
    Seligman: Long... is good.
    Joe: And moral, I’m afraid.

& Joe: I never forgot those two humiliating numbers.
Seligman: Three and five? Those are Fibonacci numbers.
Joe: That may be. In any case, it hurt like hell.

& Seligman: Oh, little darling...
Joe: Don’t you ’little darling’ me!
Seligman: No. What I wanted to say was that... if you have wings, why not fly.

& Seligman: My parents gave me the name as a... as a sort of sentimental association to Judaism. But we’ve always been anti-Zionists. Which is not the same as being anti-Semitic, as certain political powers try to convince us.
Ω Why now is clear. Why here? Well, ’cause an artist uses that stage which he has, right?

& Seligman: Seligman means ’the happy one’.
Joe: So, are you happy, then?
Seligman: Well, I suppose I am. In my own way. Even if I’m the sort of person who cuts the nails of the right hand first.
    Joe: What does that mean?
Seligman: Well, I divide humanity into two groups: The people who cut the nails of the left hand first and the people who cut the nails of the right hand first. My theory is that the people who cut the nails of the left hand first, they... they... they’re more light-hearted. They have a tendency to enjoy life more because they go straight for the easiest task and save their difficulties for later... So what do you do?
Joe: Always the left hand first. I don’t think there’s a choice. Go for the pleasure first, always, and then once you’ve done the left hand, only the right hand remains, and that’s the easiest one left.
Seligman: I’ve never thought of it like that.

& B.: You think... you know everything about sex. The secret ingredient to sex... is love.

& Joe: For me, love was just lust with jealousy added. Everything else was total nonsense.

& Joe: For every hundred crimes committed in the name of love, only one is committed in the name of sex.

& Seligman: Love is blind.
Joe: No, no, no, it’s worse. Love distorts things. Or even worse, love is something you’ve never asked for.

& Joe: The erotic was something I asked for or even demanded of men. But this idiotic love... I felt humiliated by it and all the dishonesty that follows. The erotic is about saying yes. Love appeals to the lowest instincts, wrapped up in lies. How do you say yes when you mean no and vice versa?

& Seligman: It’s Bach. From his little organ book. ’Ich ruf’ zu dir, Herr Jesu Christ.’

& Seligman: Polyphony is... from the Middle Ages. It’s an entirely European phenomenon. It’s distinguished by... by the idea that every voice is its own melody but together in harmony.

& Seligman: The sum of the numeric values represented in Bach’s name is 14 (2+1+3+8), a number he often used in his compositions. The clever thing about Bach’s name is that the numeric value of the individual letters are all Fibonacci numbers.

& Seligman: This piece has three voices: A bass voice, the second voice played with the left hand, the first voice played with the right hand. That is called Cantus Firmus... And together, these three voices create the polyphony.

& Joe: When my busy life allowed a few breaks, I used them to take my walks. These repeated walks became a kind of metaphor for my life: monotonous and pointless. Yes, precisely like the movements of a caged animal. Basically, we’re all waiting for permission to die.

& Seligman: I don’t know if I can believe this...
Joe: Which way do you think you’d get the most out of my story? By believing in it or by not believing in it?
Seligman: You’re right. You might have a point with all this.

Podrick: Wild lemons on a purple field,

Prince Oberyn of Tyrell: Everyone who works for Littlefinger is an offer.

& Prince Oberyn of Tyrell: Do you know why all the world hates a Lannister?.. You think your gold and your lions and your gold lions make you better than everyone. May I tell you a secret?.. You’re not a golden lion. You’re just a pink little man who is far too slow on the draw.

Prince Oberyn of Tyrell: How did that come to pass?

Tyrion: My nephew the king wants to murder me. My wife hates me because my father murdered her family. Oberyn Martell wants to murder everyone whose last name is Lannister.

Maester Aemon: I grew up in King’s Landing.

& Brienne of Tarth: Please pardon me for interrupting. My name is Brienne of Tarth...
Lady Olenna: We know who you are. We’ve heard all about you. But hearing is one thing... Aren’t you just marvelous? Absolutely singular!

& Daario: If you want them to follow you, you have to become a part of their world. Strategy.

& Jaime: There’s a certain safety in death, wouldn’t you say?

& Jaime: Are you sure we’re not related? Ever since I’ve returned, every Lannister I’ve seen has been a miserable pain in my ass. Maybe you’re a Lannister, too. You’ve got the hair for it if not the looks.

& Clegane: I’m not a thief.
Arya: You’re fine with murdering little boys, but thieving is beneath you?
Clegane: A man’s got to have a code.

& Polliver: And where am I for all of it? Stuck with your brother. Meaning no offense.
    Clegane: None taken.
Polliver: He’s good, the Mountain is. Best at what he does. But torture, torture, torture, torture... You spend enough time putting the hammer to people, you start to feel like a carpenter making chairs.

Hello, Bandit

Dexter 5×2

& Agent FBI: We’re just looking for a reason why Arthur Mitchell might have targeted her.
Dexter: ’Because he’s a serial killer?’

& Cody: I like it here. It’s like camping.
    Dexter: Exactly. ’Boys are easier.’

& Dexter: It’s like when you get on a plane. They tell you if the oxygen masks come down to put yours on first before helping the kids. I have to take care of my own needs too. Otherwise, I risk spinning out of control. That’s not good for anyone.

& Masuka: Oh, fuck me. Why couldn’t he have just hanged himself, took some pills... Stuck his head in the oven? People are so rude.

& Dexter: ’So he takes his work home with him. No crime in that.’

& Quinn: All I’m saying... If a woman pissed me off enough, yeah, I’d wanna cut her head off.
Debra: Well, that’s great to hear.
Quinn: No, I’m not saying I would do it. But I understand the impulse.

Chapter 18

& Francis: But China could just do it. I mean, you know as well as I, you don’t require WTO ruling.
Mr. Feng: Appearances, as you say. It’s important that it looks like America forced us out, not that we gave in.

& Francis: In Gaffney, we had our own brand of diplomacy: shake with your right hand, but hold a rock in your left.

& Gavin: This is the FBI. It’s not a few street cops.
Lucas: You think you’re badass because you’re on some vigilante anarchy kick? At least I have the balls to put my name on the work I do.
Gavin: You’ve never faced a hundred years in prison, you self-righteous prick. Most of my friends are locked up and rotting away ’cause they poked the bear one too many times. Why? They wanted to expose government surveillance, the PRISM program, embezzlement, abuse, fucking torture, lies. You’re a journalist? Who gives a shit? We’re fucking soldiers!

& Francis: Now where are we with Mr. Goodwin?
Doug: Any day now. Thirty-five to life. Cyberterrorism. The penalties are stiff.
Francis: This needs to be clean, Doug... One fall of the axe.

& Gavin: You have keys?
Henslow: We own you. Yes, we have keys.

& Doug: We need to discuss something first.
    Francis: What’s wrong?

& Francis: I’d rather manage someone I don’t trust than someone who’s reckless.

& Francis: Do you know how Grant defeated Lee?.. He had more men. That’s all. And he was willing to let them die. It was butchery, not strategy, which won the war.

& Mr. Feng: Mr. Tusk and I have great resources at our disposal...
Francis: Add up all your billions together and you get the GDP of Slovakia. I have the federal government of the United States of America.

& Francis: ...And the butchery begins.

& Francis: Thank you... And God bless the United States of America.

& Veronica Mars: Words with friends?
Dick: Some people just call it texting.

& Walden: What’s going on?

    Berta: Herpes has a kid.

& Alan: A woman’s heart is a deep and mysterious place, almost impossible to reach. Much like the G-spot. Although at least we know the heart, in fact, exists. When that heart closes itself to a man— and in my experience, it inevitably does— the only way to reopen it is to allow time to pass. That way, the woman can reflect on how much she misses her man.

& Sheldon: I feel like I’ve got a fish tank in my pelvis.

Sheldon: Because I’m trying to decide between getting an Xbox One or a PS4. Oh, “pee.” Why’d I say that?

& Leonard: Forgive me for asking a stupid question, but why are you being stupid?

& Penny: ...Next time I get pulled over for a speeding ticket, here come the waterworks.
    Sheldon: Here come the waterworks!
Leonard: .... Aren’t you gonna ask?
Penny: What is this, my first day?

& Emily: If it makes you feel any better, you’re not the weirdest guy I’ve met off the Internet.
Raj: Well, give me a chance— you don’t even know me.
Emily: All right, here’s your chance...
Raj: Wha... Really?! Thank you! Fate has given me a rare second chance, and I swear to Vishnu I’m not gonna blow it. Or... normal words followed by a charming smile.

& Sheldon: So, first there was PlayStation— aka PS1— then PS2, PS3 and now PS4. And that makes sense. You’d think after Xbox, there’d be Xbox 2. But no, next came Xbox 360. Hmm? And now, after 360, comes Xbox One. Why “One”? Maybe that’s how many seconds of thought they put into naming it...

& Sheldon: ...I also was certain that HD DVD would win out over Blu-ray.
Amy: How old were you then?
Sheldon: Old enough to know better. You know, and now that I think about it, I stood in front of a case of iPods and I bought a Zune.
    Amy: What’s a Zune?
Sheldon: Yeah, exactly! It’s an MP3 player brought to us by the makers of Xbox.

& Sheldon: On the one hand, the Xbox One has a better camera... but the PS4 has a removable hard drive. Thoughts?

& Wil Wheaton: Penny?! We’re working together! Awesome!!!

The Wolf of Wall Street

& Jordan: See, money doesn’t just buy you a better life, better food, better cars, better pussy. It also makes you a better person. You can give generously to the church or political party of your choice. You can save the fucking spotted owl with money.

& Jordan: Mr. Hanna? You’re able to do drugs during the day and then still function, still do your job?
Hanna: How the fuck else would you do this job? Cocaine and hookers, my friend.

& Hanna: Number one rule of Wall Street. Nobody... I don’t care if you’re Warren Buffett or if you’re Jimmy Buffett. Nobody knows if a stock is gonna go up, down, sideways, or in fucking circles. Least of all stockbrokers, right? It’s all a fugazi. You know what a fugazi is?
    Jordan: Fugayzi. It’s a fake.
Hanna: Fugayzi, fugazi, it’s a whazy, it’s a woozy, it’s... Fairy dust. It doesn’t exist. It’s never landed. It is no matter. It’s not on the elemental chart. It’s not fucking real. Right?
    Jordan: Right.
Hanna: Stay with me. We don’t create shit. We don’t build anything.
    Jordan: No.
Hanna: So if you got a client who bought stock at eight and it now sits at 16, he’s all fucking happy. He wants to cash in, liquidate, take his fucking money and run home. You don’t let him do that.
    Jordan: Okay.
Hanna: ’Cause that would make it real.
    Jordan: Right.
Hanna: No. What do you do? You get another brilliant idea. A special idea. Another “situation.” Another stock to reinvest his earnings and then some. And he will, every single time. ’Cause they’re fucking addicted. And you just keep doing this, again and again and again. Meanwhile, he thinks he’s getting shit rich, which he is, on paper. But you and me, the brokers, we’re taking home cold hard cash via commission, motherfucker.

& Jordan: Wow. Let’s go run, huh? We gotta get out of here, buddy. We gotta get out of here. Let’s go fucking run. Let’s run like we’re fucking lions and tigers and bears! Let’s run! Let’s fucking run!

& Jordan: Gentlemen, welcome to Stratton Oakmont. You schnooks will now be targeting the wealthiest 1% of Americans. We’re talking about whales here. Moby fucking Dicks. And with this script, which is now your new harpoon, I’m gonna teach each and every one of you to be Captain fucking Ahab.

& Jordan: But, you know, every time someone rises up in this world, there’s always gonna be some asshole trying to drag him down.

& Jordan: This is our golden ticket to the fucking chocolate factory right here! And I wanna meet Willy fucking Wonka, okay? I wanna be with the fucking Oompa Loompas like this!

& Jordan: I’m gonna let you in on a little secret about these telephones. They’re not gonna dial themselves. Okay? Without you, they’re just worthless hunks of plastic. Like a loaded M16 without a trained Marine to pull the trigger. And in the case of the telephone, it’s up to each and every one of you, my highly-trained Strattonites. My killers! My killers, who will not take no for an answer! My fucking warriors, who will not hang up the phone until their client either buys or fucking dies!

& Jordan: Let me tell you something. There is no nobility in poverty. I have been a rich man and I have been a poor man. And I choose rich every fucking time. Because at least as a rich man, when I have to face my problems, I show up in the back of a limo, wearing a $2,000 suit and a $40,000 gold fucking watch!

& Jordan: And if anyone here thinks I’m superficial or materialistic, go get a job at fucking McDonald’s, ’cause that’s where you fucking belong!

& Naomi: Switzerland? What the fuck is in Switzerland?
Jordan: Swiss fucking banks, that’s what.

& Chantalle: Well, we don’t fucking work for you, man!
Donnie: Sweetheart, you have my money taped to your tits. Okay? Technically, you do work for me.

& Jordan: Fucking heart attack! Boom, snap, gone. Shuffled off her mortal coil.

& Jordan: I will not die sober! Get those fucking ludes!

& Jordan: The nice thing about getting rescued by Italians is that they feed you, make you drink red wine, then you get to dance.

Buck Wild

& Candy: I hate you!
Clyde: Yeah, well, that makes two of us.

& Clyde: What’s a chupacabra?
Tom: I think he said “chalupa.”
Jerry: He said “chupacabra.” It’s a legendary cryptid rumored to inhabit parts of the Americas. The infamous chupacabra, or “goat sucker,” drinks the blood of its victim. Some say they’re just rabid coyotes with mange. Others swear they’re pure evil.
Craig: How the hell do you know all that?
Jerry: Ah, I used to hook up with a Mexican farm girl.

& Clyde: Gather ’round and listen up. I’m only gonna say this once. Bed’s for sleepin’. Pool table’s for poolin’. TV’s for watchin’.

& Clyde: Table for eatin’... This is the kitchen.
    Craig: For cookin’?

& Clyde: If you’ll look out back, you’ll notice a barbecue pit for barbecuin’, a seatin’ area for seatin’, and a 4-by—

& Craig: This is gonna be one hell of a trip. I mean not as good as the one I had planned last year but a close second or third. Top 5— 10.

& Jerry: Nietzsche once said, “love is a state in which a man sees things most decidedly as they are not.”
    Clyde: Thanks.
Jerry: What that means is that women are crazy. You can’t allow them to twist your reality.

& Jerry: What? When nature calls, I say hello.

& Jerry: They’ll come for us.
    Clyde: What?!
    Jerry: Zombies.

& Jerry: I told you. You got to destroy the brain.

& Jerry: What are you doing?!
Tom: If I’m gonna die, I’m gonna do it in a pair of pants.

& Tom: I just killed a priest, man.
Jerry: You sure did. With a crucifix no less. That’s kind of poetic. Congrats.

& Jerry: Once more unto the breach, dear friends.
    Clyde: ????
    Jerry: Bill Shakespeare.

Us Against the World

Resurrection 1×4

& Caleb: You remember what we used to say?
Elaine: Mm-hmm. It’s us against the world.
Caleb: And it still is. Us against the world.

& Marty: Not to be funny, but how often do you wash a hammer?

& Fred: It’s over.
    Caleb: No. It’s just beginning.

House of Cards 2×3

Chapter 16

& Francis: There are two types of vice presidents: doormats and matadors. Which do you think I intend to be?
Ω Huh?

& Lucas: How do I know you’re not law enforcement?
Gavin: Sign the document or walk away.

& Gavin: I’m VPNing through Iran and 12 other countries, don’t worry. It’s secure.

& Gavin: Destroy the iPad, especially the serial number, and delete the e-mail after you’ve memorized it. Good luck.

& Curtis Haas: Maybe the country needs to see what disaster looks like...
Francis: The tea party is a strong voice, and you’re its bullhorn. Show your people that voice can translate into law, and not just add to the noise.

& Francis: Maybe we shouldn’t point fingers until there’s a problem.
President Walker: You wouldn’t call this a problem?
Francis: Not if it’s solved before it becomes one.

& Francis: I need to prove what the vice president is capable of.
Claire: Don’t prove it to them. Prove it to me.

& Francis: As for me, I used to be on the edge of the frame. Now, I’m only three feet away.

My Bad

Dexter 5×1

Ω Without Rita.

& Dexter: It was me.

& Masuka: I shouldn’t have told Dexter.
Quinn: What? What shouldn’t you have told him?
Masuka: About a significant exchange of saliva I witnessed at Thanksgiving... As in a kiss.

& Dexter: There are only a few things you really need once you decide to move on, what you’ll require wherever you land... a fine suit of clothing... The tools of your trade... And some token of your past, a reminder of who you really are. Everything else... You just don’t need.

& Harry: They’re not better off without you. You’re not better off without them.

People Who Love Peepholes

Two and a Half Men 9×2

& Berta: I could bite that ass like an apple.

& Walden: I don’t know if I can be happy anywhere without my wife.
Alan: Oh, come on, you’re young, you’re rich, and you’ve got a face that gives women an erection.

& Walden: I got to talk Bridget into taking me back.
Alan: Oh, no. No, no, bad idea. When a woman says she doesn’t want you, begging does not help. And I say this having spent more time on my knees than any straight man in America.

& Bridget: God, Walden, what is wrong with you?
Walden: Well, if loving you is wrong, then... I am wrong.

Better Living Through Chemistry

& Jane Fonda: You can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone.

& Doug: Hey, honey? You want to party?
    Kara: Doug, it’s a weekday.

& Jane Fonda: But if you asked him, Doug Varney would tell you sayings like these were fortune cookie horseshit.

& Elizabeth: God, I hope you’re flexible...

& Jane Fonda: Anyone can take a pill, but only a pharmacist knows how to make one.

& Jane Fonda: Percocet is nice, but when spliced with atomoxetine and hydrocodone, the party could go on for hours. Fentanyl blended with oxycodone made for a much more interesting day at work. And even more interesting lunch breaks.

& Elizabeth: Sometimes you need to know when to just shut up and give it to a girl.

& Doug: Janet, the DEA is here... Shouldn’t you be wearing a windbreaker, cool sunglasses, smashing down doors...
Agent Carp: Well, not necessarily. I’m not chasing Denzel or anything. I’m just a regular guy, you know? And what most people don’t realize, Mr. Varney, is that the misallocation of prescription medicine kills 29% more people than the so-called glamour drugs. 29%. That’s like a third.

& Jane Fonda: ...And he knew just how to make that happen. Using a base of Hypertropin growth hormone for quick recovery, cutting in magnesium hydroxide to stave off cramping, highly concentrated doses of Adderall for focus, oxycodone to numb his legs and 10 ccs of good old-fashioned methamphetamine for that extra kick in the end... It was most definitively a recipe for success.

& Kara: You don’t actually think you can compete in this thing, do you?
Doug: I’m not here to compete. I’m here to win.

& Kara: What are you doing?!
Doug: Sometimes you gotta know when to shut up and just give it to a girl... It’s called being a man.

& Doug: I wish I could have been a stronger man for you. I really do. But, damn, do I wish you had been a better woman.

& Agent Carp: Noah was a resourceful criminal, but he forgot the first rule of the drug game. Don’t get high on your own supply. It’s a shame.

& Doug: High blood pressure, acid reflux, chlamydia.
Walter Bishop: Never would have guessed.
    Doug: No one ever does.

& Jane Fonda: You can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone... And sometimes, that someone is yourself.
