Worth

The Walking Dead 8×15

Carl: 'I thought growing up was about getting a job and maybe a family, being an adult, but growing up is making yourself and the people you love safe... As safe as you can, because... things happen.'

Carl: '...if they won't end it, you have to. You have to give them a way out. You have to find peace with Negan, find a way forward somehow. We don't have to forget what happened, but you can make it so that it won't happen again, that nobody has to live this way, that every life is worth something...'

Simon: I'm Negan. And not in a collective, "We're all Negan" sense.

Gregory: No! I've achieved too much! I-I-I've suffered too much! I've survived too much for it to end like this! I've lashed myself to the bow, seen through the storm, and I have been reborn as a-a certified shit kicker! I make things happen! I've always made things happen. And it's not gonna end with me wandering off into the wilderness with my dick in my hand.

Simon: Second... do you make coffee?
Gregory: .... Best in the land.
Simon: We'll start with coffee and see where it goes.

Eugene: That sardine mac-and-cheese recipe I gave you was a staple from my college days when, as a cash-strapped student, I had to pad out the budget-minded goodness of M-and-powdered-C with the protein power of canned sardines... which provided a longer-lasting energy source than pure carbohydrates. The garlic sauté alleys what originated as a purely "oops" dish. Mmm... Takes me back.

Gabriel: I don't want to help you. But... I do fear death.

Negan: I'm gonna need you on your knees...

Negan: You gonna make a move, or is that it?
Simon: No move to make.
Negan: No. There isn't.

Eugene: I tried to resist. I tried to rise above my biological imperative, but that is not who I am.

Simon: You deliver or get shipped. He hasn't delivered, and that saddens me. But the time has come. Let us gather our like-minded individuals, draw strength from each other... and do what we need to do.

Aaron: What they did to you, what they turned you into... it's their fault. You hide. You don't trust. You don't live the life the way you want to because of them. They hurt you, and they're gonna keep on hurting you. Unless you do one thing! Fight.

Negan: Thank you, D. I'll take it from here.

Negan: You want to be the man, you got to beat the man. If you can do that... then, hell... you should be the man.

Negan: I thought about killing you, and then... I thought maybe that'd be too dignified for a... backstabbing, double-crossing dirtbag such as yourself.

Eugene: That's right. If Negan needs bullets to end this war, then, by ginger, he's gonna get 'em. All of 'em.

Eugene: Here we go. Time to do something useful with our pathetic lives.

Michonne: Just shut up and listen... "Negan, this is Carl...."

Carl: 'The way out is working together. It's forgiveness.'

Negan: No more talk.

Coco

Mariachi: Look, if you're too scared then, well, have fun making shoes.

Miguel: I don't know. I thought it might've been one of those made up things that adults tell kids. Like vitamins.
Tía Victoria: Miguel, vitamins are a real thing.
Miguel: Well, now I'm thinking maybe they could be.

Frida Kahlo: Yes! It is I. Frida Kahlo. Shall we skip the scanner? I'm on so many ofrendas it'll just overwhelm your blinky thingy.

Héctor: He's been forgotten. When there's no one left in the living world who remembers you... you disappear from this world. We call it the final death.
Miguel: Where did he go?
Héctor: No one knows.

Miguel: Are you kidding? A minute ago I thought I was related to a murderer. You're a total upgrade.

Miguel: You don't have to forgive him. But we shouldn't forget him.

Mamá Imelda: You have our blessing, Miguel. No conditions.

Young Sheldon 1×16

Young Sheldon: Fiddle-faddle!
Meemaw: The F word. He's real mad.

Young Sheldon: Poodle poop!
Meemaw: Okay. Somebody's got to teach this kid to swear, it's embarrassing.

Young Sheldon: In fact, I'm going as far away from science as possible. I plan to pursue the arts.
Mary: What kind of arts?
Young Sheldon: I've decided to become an actor.
Meemaw: Of course you have.

Young Sheldon: And where is the music coming from?
Missy: You're thinking about it too much!

George: Can you at least wear pants instead of a dress?
Young Sheldon: I'll give you a definite maybe.

Georgie: I don't want to see Sheldon's stupid play, it's humiliating.
Missy: That's why I want to see it.
Mary: We're going to support your brother. Not another word about it.
George: Can we at least sit in the back?
Mary: Not a word!

Mr. Lundy: Sheldon, come here. You... are a star, and that audience deserves to see you shine.

The Shape of Water

Giles: Oh, God, to be young and beautiful... If I could go back to when I was 18... I didn't know anything about anything, I'd give myself a bit of advice. I would say, "Take better care of your teeth... and fuck a lot more." ... Oh no, no, that's very good advice.

Zelda: Look. Some of the best minds in the country peeing all over the floor in this here facility. Mmm, mmm, mmm. There's pee freckles on the ceiling now. How'd they get it up there? Just how big a target do they need, you figure?

Strickland: Oh, no. No, a man washes his hands before or after tending to his needs. It tells you a lot about a man. He does it both times... points to a weakness in character... Ladies. It was very pleasant chatting with you both.

Zelda: I can handle pee. I can handle poo. But blood... Ugh. Blood just does something to me.

Strickland: You don't think that's what the Lord looks like, do you?
Zelda: I wouldn't know, sir, what the Lord looks like.
Strickland: Well, it's human, Zelda. He looks like a human, like me. Or even you... Maybe a little more like me, I guess.

Dr. Hoffstetler: This creature is intelligent... capable of language... of understanding emotions.
General Hoyt: So are the Soviets, the Gooks. And we still kill them, don't we?

Strickland: Russians hate the Jews, but they can't get enough of their gadgets.

Zelda: I'm not a good liar. Except to Brewster. It takes a lot of lies to keep a marriage going.

Giles: Have you always been alone? Did you ever have someone? Do you know what happened to you? Do you? Because I don't. I don't know what happened to me. I don't know. I look in the mirror and the only thing that I recognize are these eyes... in this old man's face. You know, sometimes I think I was either born too early or too late for my life... Maybe we're both just relics.

Zelda: How? How? Does he have a...? Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Oh! Never trust a man. Even when he looks flat down there.

General Hoyt: "Decent?" A man has the decency not to fuck up. Now that's one thing. That's real decent of him. But the other kind of decency? It doesn't really matter. We sell it, but it's an export. We sell it, because we don't use it.
36 hours from now... this entire episode will be over. And so will you. Our universe will have a hole in it with your outline. And you will have moved on to an alternate universe. A universe of shit. You'll be lost to civilization. And you will be unborn. Unmade. And undone.
So go get some real decency, son. And unfuck this mess.

Strickland: There he is. Doctor-fucking-shirtbird.

Strickland: Fuck. You are a god.

Bernadette: If we don't do anything, how long do you think they'll talk about Batman?
Penny: Well, I've know them for 11 years, so... 11 years.

Sheldon: You know what they say, fool me "N" times, where "N" equals the amount of times you've already fooled me, shame on you. Fool me "N" plus one times... shame on me.

The Company

Peaky Blinders 4×6

Alfie: Yeah, you're like me, Tommy, you can't bear to watch a fight which has got rules.

Alfie: Tommy, right, imagine... Imagine that you could not see... at all, you was born blind. Then one day you open up your eyes and you can see everything in the world. When before you could only touch it or smell it. There it is... The revelation. Innit? I've had one.

Alfie: The Americans are here now, aren't they? So, that's it. Yeah. It's been that way ever since the war, innit? The Americans... Big fucks small. Always, actually. Hmm?

Alfie: Right. Margate then. Blue skies, heaven. I will see you, Tommy. Might appear.

Lizzie: He said I'd get a weekly allowance.
Polly: Oh, he can be romantic.

Polly: It's a girl. Call her Ruby. Ruby Shelby. She'll be a star in a Hollywood movie.

Polly: Right, ladies, let's rejoin our gentlemen. And just remember, Linda... if they spit, just spit back.

Arthur: Let me do my fucking job!

Tommy: Go on, Finn! Take his eyes, Finn. Do it for Arthur.

Tommy: My brother is dead. You hear me! My brother is dead!

Michael: Tommy, I've been trying to think of words...
Polly: Don't. Words don't work.

Tommy: The vendetta is done.
Mrs. Changretta: We say the vendetta is won. We will take everything you have.

Tommy: ...And now he's coming to take control of Shelby Company Limited.
Lizzie: What are we going to do about that?
Tommy: We're gonna let him have it.

Luca: All that's left of the Peaky fucking Blinders...

Luca: I would've buried you all, but my mother, she, uh... She knows you. She said, it'll be worse for you if I let you live... and take away everything that you have.

Luca: Search them... Especially don't trust this bitch.

Tommy: A friend of mine once said... "Big fucks small." So I had to find someone bigger than you.

Polly: We also contacted a businessman in Chicago. He's also interested in moving into the liquor business in New York.
Tommy: His name is Alphonse Capone...

Arthur: Tell your boss what you saw here today. And tell him... You don't fuck with the Peaky Blinders.

Arthur: For the first time since me, my two kid brothers, Tommy and John, enlisted in the Warwickshire Yeomanry, we have peace. So...

Arthur: Time you took a holiday, Tom. Put your feet up. War's over. No one wants to kill us. To peace.

Tommy: I once told you, Alfie, that for business reasons or in bad blood, I would kill you.

Tommy: Alfie, stop talking!

Tommy: I know what this is... It's just myself talking to myself about myself.

Polly: Maybe it's in us. It's with Shelbys. It's in our Gypsy blood. We live somewhere between life and death, waiting to move on. And in the end, we accept it. We shake hands with devils and we walk past them.

Tommy: I've learned something, Frances... There's no rest for me in this world. Perhaps in the next.

Tommy: Went fishing, played golf.
Arthur: Golf's fucking boring.
Tommy: Boring and easy.
Arthur: Yeah, well, what's the plan?

Tommy: This will be the last job you'll do for me. You can go to Glasgow and be with your family. You're free.

Polly: So you shook hands with the devil?
Tommy: Yeah. And I walked past him.

Tommy: Poll... I've had an idea.
Polly: Oh, fuck.

Tommy: I've made up my mind, Jessie. Your cause is now my cause.

Tommy: If my cover is maintained, I can begin to shape the movement and organize it myself.
Arthur Bigge: And undermine it?
Tommy: Rise through the ranks of the wider Socialist movements.

Arthur Bigge: Of course you want something in return. What this time? A knighthood?

Tommy: My proposal. And my conditions.
Arthur Bigge: Mmm... For the attention of Winston Churchill?
Tommy: He holds me in very high regard.

Negan: What the shit? No, really, just tell me... What the shit?!

Negan: Look, whatever you're doing... you must not really want to do it.

Negan: So let's have a chat. Let the healing begin.

Morgan: We take that road, you know what we'll find.
Carol: But I don't. I decided... I decided what it would be. But I won't know unless I go... unless I try. And you can try, too.

Morgan: I can't. I... You save people. I watch 'em die.

Negan: My wife's name was Lucille. She got me through. I didn't give her shit, and she got me through. Just life. Regular life.

Negan: What the shit?

Jared: Things have changed. Delivering Rick the Prick to Negan is a win. We wiped our own asses on this one, and the Big Man is gonna recognize.

Morgan: I don't die. I don't. Nobody dies! 'Cause everybody turns! Hey! Everybody turns!

Morgan: Everybody turns.

Rick: Why'd you save me? Why?

Negan: The offer stands. I'll swing by again sometime. Who knows? Maybe you'll want to share.

Negan: Holy hell. If shit could shit, it still wouldn't look as shitty as you. Get in.

Carol: You know, I sit through the ice hockey game and you watch the whole opera!
Larry: I can't listen to that much Wagner. I start to get the urge to conquer Poland.

Larry: No, no, I forbid you. I forbid you to go. I'm forbidding... Is that what you do when I forbid you? If that's what you... I'm not gonna be forbidding you a lot, if you do...

Larry: I think it's a pretty fair assumption that if a person is dead, they don't suddenly turn up in the New York City transit system.

Larry: This is for all the times I call you to fix the faucet and you show up six months late.

Larry: Yeah, we may need some information while we're here, so... I'll take very good care of you if you play ball with us... What are you making a face for? He's the father of our country.

Larry: Oh, Jesus. Claustrophobia and a dead body. This is a neurotic's jackpot.

Larry: You were jealous of Ted. Yeah.
Carol: Ted? You've got to be kidding.
Larry: Take away his elevator shoes and his fake suntan and his capped teeth, and what do you have?

The Duel

Peaky Blinders 4×5

Luca: But remember... I fire the final shot!

Lizzie: Yes, it can only be yours... That day by the canal when you were fucking somebody else in your head. Except it wasn't her who got pregnant.

Tommy: All this death, Lizzie. Fuck, let's have some life, eh?

Polly: They don't even know where they'll be tomorrow. They follow the Patrin and the crows.

Polly: Tommy says it won't be long. Then we'll be free.

Polly: You might learn something... Tell them your grandmother was a Gypsy princess, name of Birdie Boswell! You're royalty up there, Michael.

Aberama: Your family were healers?
Polly: Yeah, a long time ago... Came back when I put my head in the noose. It's like putting your head through a window and seeing the whole world.

Polly: When you've put your head out of that window you can do anything you want, cos there are no rules... cos there are no risks.

Alfie: That's it. I'll tell you what, right? Here's a gift, it's free - a souvenir of your visit here. Goodbye, trot on. Down there is Bonnie Street.

Alfie: But also I want some cash... bung work. That's why I've broken it down here - a list of costs pertaining to the assassination of a dear friend, all right? Now, a normal dispatch, well, it's, you know, £500 cost. But you're going to have to add another 100 to that because Tommy Shelby, like me, is from an oppressed people, and I need you to put another tonne on top of that because his brother is a fucking animal and he will come after me. And then you will need to put another 100 on top of that because, well, you are a fucking wop, mate, hmmm? And you... And then we've got to deal with the ugly business, which I've been incredibly clear of before. I will need another £500, because, like I stated, Tommy Shelby is a very, very good friend of mine.

Alfie: Well, in order to qualify as my seconds they would first have to qualify as being Jewish. Yeah? And in order to do that, they would have to replace their natural Italian fucking arrogance with a Jewish air of absolute certainty.

Luca: These days, back in the old country, a lot of the, er, you know, the Jewish people, they, er... they are having to pass themselves off as Italian.
Alfie: Right, well, you will have to add another tonne on to your bill for being a cunt, mate. All right?

Luca: You will bring my men to Birmingham?
Alfie: And you will circumcise them. You will have to circumcise them because the Peakys will check. Yeah?

Alfie: Aye, you've just made a deal without negotiation, didn't you?... Yeah, Tommy Shelby was right about you, weren't he?

Ada: Your men watched.
Colonel Younger: Then they will be reprimanded.
Ada: They won't see Saturday.
Colonel Younger: A naked woman, alone, making threats against the entire British Army - a significant indicator of character...

Ada: I'm no longer a member of the Communist Party because I'm no longer a believer in the cause of socialism.
Colonel Younger: So, in the past, you were blinded by love...
Ada: No, blinded by faith. I believed people deserve justice. They don't.

Ada: And how is Tommy Shelby OBE going to stop a revolution?

Tommy: The British Army came to me, Ada. I said, "Why not?"
Ada: They'll put that on your grave, Tom... 'Tommy Shelby - "Why not?"'

Tommy: Jessie, this is my Uncle Charlie and my... whatever Curly is.

Tommy: I want an opinion. Try it...
Jessie Eden: I don't really drink gin.
Tommy: Then you're perfect. My gin is for women that don't really drink gin.
Jessie Eden: Your gin?

Tommy: Let's drink to something. You choose.
Jessie Eden: To the revolution.
Tommy: Why not?

Jessie Eden: What do you want to know about the cause?
Tommy: I'm approaching the current political crisis as I would approach a horse race... assessing the runners and the riders. Now, the favourite is, of course, the King's horse. But the King's horse was also the favorite in 1913, when Emily Davison threw herself in front of it.
Jessie Eden: You know the names of suffragettes. I'm impressed.
Tommy: Everyone laughed at them at first, but now look - women with serious faces everywhere.

Tommy: And then the other horse, the one who wants to beat the King's horse... Let's call her Dangerous, shall we? she's no form. That's what makes her so dangerous.
Jessie Eden: Russia. Isn't that form?
Tommy: No, the Russians aren't like the English. We're beer, they're petrol.

This Is Us 2×11

Toby: You know, when I was a kid, I was obsessed with Star Wars. I loved that it was this huge story, right, where a bunch of people come together to fight these giant wars. But when you break it down, it's really just about a few people on the inside who know what's up. Luke and Vader. Leia and Obi-Wan. They were on the inside. And they're having lightsaber battles on bridges, and they're talking about big stuff and everybody else is pretty much... Chewbacca.
Beth: So in this story the three of us are Chewbacca?
Toby: If the Chewie fits, Beth. ...
Miguel: I married my best friend's wife. Nobody talks about it, but everyone's always thinking it. I've been on the outside of this family since I entered it. I'm not even Chewbacca. I'm one of the fighter pilots who doesn't even have a name.

Small Town Crime

Mike Kendall: There's, uh, one other thing I'd like to mention.
Business Type: Sure, go ahead.
Mike Kendall: Well... I have a problem with alcohol.
Business Type: I see.
Mike Kendall: Most mornings, I'm about as worthless as a park bench in hell. I usually don't start thinking straight until I get a couple cold ones in me. After that, I wouldn't recommend me operating any heavy machinery... if you get where I'm going.
Business Type: Yeah.
Mike Kendall: But other than that, you know, I'm ready to go.

Randy: Look... all I have is a name. It's not something you put on a driver's license. But it's what everyone calls him. It's what he calls himself... Mood.

Leslie: Being a bartender, you see a lot of shit. You learn a lot of shit, too. Useless knowledge most of the time, but... once in a while, you get a gem. Let me give you an example...

Leslie: I bet you don't know... that our law enforcement holds a lot of pride... in the national bird. Now that makes sense... if you consider that the state's fowl... is the valley quail. Let me tell you, there's nothing tough about a quail... and you sure as hell wouldn't want to put that on your uniform. Now, you see... at the top of your badge... there's supposed to be an eagle. A bald eagle, the national bird. Now, what you got there... looks more like a hawk... which is a hell of a bird... but it ain't no bald eagle. So, I'm guessing that that badge was made in, uh, Tijuana by a counterfeiter... who didn't know the difference between a chicken and chicken shit.

Mood: So, y'all got a plan for this shit... or we just gonna jump into an old-fashioned dog fight?
Mike Kendall: Both.

Oliver: You drunk?
Mike Kendall: I'm comfortable.

Outlander 2×7

Claire: My sins are all I have left.

King Louis: We have no quarrel with the proper search for wisdom. But while much good may be found, so, too, may evil be discovered, and the search for wisdom be perverted into the desire for power and wealth for one's own depraved and immoral purpose.
Claire: Jesus H. Roosevelt Christ.

Claire: I see darkness in his soul... Also in his. But only the normal darkness that lives in the souls of... all men. Even a king's... For without darkness... there can be no light.

Claire: I closed my eyes... and thought of England.

Murder on the Orient Express

Hercule Poirot: Two perfect eggs this time, no?... I blame the chicken. Why do hens lay eggs of different sizes? It's not you, mon ami.

British Military Escort: How did you know it was him, sir? From just a tiny crack on the wall...
Hercule Poirot: I have the advantage... I can only see the world as it should be. And when it is not, the imperfection stands out... like the nose in the middle of a face. It makes most of life unbearable. But it is useful in the detection of crime.

Mary Debenham: You're the detective, Hercules Poirot?
Hercule Poirot: Hercule Poirot. I do not slay the lions.

Caroline Hubbard: One thing about train travel, you're always knocking into somebody.

Caroline Hubbard: Travel is fine for spicy food, mosques, meeting men. But eventually, you just miss your own bed.

Edward Ratchett: Dogs on the table. Most disgusting thing I've ever seen in my life.

Edward Ratchett: Are you insulted?
Caroline Hubbard: Hmm. Disappointed. Some men have a good look. All they have to do is... keep their mouth shut, and they can take home any prize they want. Still, the mouth opens.

Bouc: ...And yet, the best things on the train are not food. You know there's something about... a tangle of strangers pressed together for days on end, with nothing in common... but the need to go from one place to another... then never to see each other again. Boredom plus anonymity plus a... constant, gentle rocking.

Bouc: Are you still enjoying your Dickens?
Hercule Poirot: Very much, mon ami.
Bouc: You know, with your books and your capers, you are missing out on romance.
Hercule Poirot: Romance never goes unpunished.

Bouc: You are the only one who can bring justice!

Hercule Poirot: I have elected to take the case... and find for my friend, Monsieur Bouc, the criminal.
Gerhard Hardman: And why you?
Hercule Poirot: My name is Hercule Poirot... and I am probably the greatest detective in the world.

Hercule Poirot: You do not trust your god anymore... since your surprise?
Pilar Estravados: No, in case He is busy.
Hercule Poirot: God is always busy.

Hercule Poirot: If it were easy, I would not be famous.

Mary Debenham: To a man with a hammer, every problem is a nail. You live crime. You see evil every day.
Hercule Poirot: Not so. I see enough crime to know that the criminal act is the anomaly. I believe it takes a fracture of the soul... to murder another human being.

Hercule Poirot: You tell your lies... and you think no one will know. But there are two people who will know. Yes, two people. Your God... and Hercule Poirot. It is time to solve this case.

Caroline Hubbard: You're an awfully clever man.

Hercule Poirot: Yes. I am the detective. Could you please straighten your tie?
