David Paster: I'm David Paster.
Chrisjen: We have met. You're... Minister of the Interior?
David Paster: Transportation, actually.
Chrisjen: Oh.
David Paster: Uh... I'm the new acting secretary-general.
Chrisjen: Sir.

David Paster: My degree is in drone avionics. I spent my career designing package delivery systems. The only reason I got into Parliament is because I thought the person running the local transit authority was an idiot and I thought I could do a much better job, and I won his seat... We were only able to beat back the attack because of you. I'd like you to join my provisional cabinet. Please.
Chrisjen: Of course.
David Paster: Thank you, madam.

Marco Inaros: Space her.
Cyn: What?
Marco Inaros: You heard me. Stop apologizing, and correct your error and put her outside.

Clarissa: Schrodinger's parent.
Amos: Who?
Clarissa: A parent you never hear from exists in a quantum state, both dead and alive, until you check up on them and the act of observing makes one of the two states true.

Clarissa: I'm sure she's a really good person.
Amos: She lived like she was.
Clarissa: What does that mean?
Amos: There are ways that you can live a good life... without being a good person.
Clarissa: I like that.

Amos: The thing about civilization is, it keeps you civil. Get rid of one, you can't count on the other.

Amos: People are tribal. The more settled things are, the bigger the tribes can be. The churn comes, and the tribes get small again. Right now, you and I are a tribe of two.
Clarissa: That's better than one.

Marco Inaros: Add your strength, your reputation to ours.
Camina: Or else?
Marco Inaros: Or leave. And go in peace. But do not expect me to protect you.
Camina: The only reason we need protection is because of you. You have committed the entire Belt to war with the Inners and made peace impossible.
Marco Inaros: I committed us to a future of our own on our own terms. We were already at war. You just couldn't see it because they were killing us slow.

Clarissa: Did we win?

Clarissa: I wrote this little... I don't know... poem. Kind of took it on as a prayer.
Amos: How'd it go?
Clarissa: I have killed... but I'm not a killer, because a killer is a monster and monsters aren't afraid. I'm afraid all the time... of the things that I did, how right it felt when I was doing them, how certain I was...

Glengarry Glen Ross (1992)

Ricky Roma: They say it was so hot downtown this afternoon, grown men on the street corner were going up to cops begging the cops to shoot them.

Blake: Put that coffee down. Coffee's for closers only.

Blake: You think I'm fucking with you? I am not fucking with you. I'm here from downtown. I'm here from Mitch and Murray. And I'm here on a mission of mercy.

Blake: You call yourself a salesman, you son of a bitch?
Dave Moss: I don't got to listen to this shit.
Blake: You certainly don't, pal, 'cause the good news is you're fired. The bad news is you've got, all of you've got, just one week to regain your jobs, starting with tonight. Starting with tonight's sit. Oh, have I got your attention now? Good. 'Cause we're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac El dorado. Anybody want to see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired. Do you get the picture? Are you laughing now?

Blake: The leads are weak? The fuckin' leads are weak?! You're weak. I've been in this business 15 years.
Dave Moss: What's your name?
Blake: Fuck you, that's my name! You know why, mister? Because you drove a Hyundai to get here tonight, I drove an $80,000 BMW. That's my name. And your name is you're wanting. You can't play in the man's game? You can't close them? Then go home and tell your wife your troubles. Because only one thing counts in this life, get them to sign on the line which is dotted! You hear me, you fucking faggots?

Blake: A-B-C. A, Always, B, Be, C, Closing. Always Be Closing. A-I-D-A. Attention, Interest, Decision, Action. Attention. Do I have your attention? Interest. Are you interested? I know you are, because it's fuck or walk. You close or you hit the bricks. Decision. Have you made your decision for Christ? And Action. A-I-D-A.

Dave Moss: You're such a hero, you're so rich. How come you're here, waste your time with such a bunch of bums?
Blake: You see this watch?.. You see this watch?!
Dave Moss: Yeah.
Blake: That watch costs more than your car. I made $970,000 last year. How much you make?... You see, pal, that's who I am, and you're nothing... Nice guy? I don't give a shit. Good father? Fuck you, go home and play with your kids. You want to work here, close! You think this is abuse? You think this is abuse, you cocksucker?! You can't take this, how can you take the abuse you get on a sit? You don't like it, leave. I can go out there tonight, the materials you got, make myself $15,000. Tonight, in two hours! Can you? Can you?! Go and do likewise. A-I-D-A. Get mad, you son of a bitches. Get mad!

Blake: You know what it takes to sell real estate? It takes brass balls to sell real estate. Go and do likewise, gents. The money's out there, you pick it up, it's yours, you don't, I got no sympathy for you. You want to go out on those sits tonight and close, close, it's yours. Not, you're gonna be shining my shoes. And you know what you'll be saying. Bunch of losers sitting around in a bar, "Oh yeah, I used to be a salesman. It's a tough racket."

Blake: These are the new leads. These are the Glengarry leads. And to you, they're gold. And you don't get them. Why? Because to give them to you is just throwing them away. They're for closers. I'd wish you good luck, but you wouldn't know what to do with it if you got it. And to answer your question, pal, "Why am I here?" I came here because Mitch and Murray asked me to. They asked me for a favor. I said, "The real favor, follow my advice and fire your fucking ass, because a loser is a loser."

Ricky Roma: When you die, you're gonna regret the things you don't do. You think you're queer? I'm gonna tell you something. We're all queer. You think you're a thief? So what? You get befuddled by a middle-class morality? Get shut of it. Shut it out. You cheat on your wife, you did it. Live with it. You fuck little girls, so be it. There's an absolute morality? Maybe. And then what? If you think there is, go ahead, be that thing. Bad people go to hell? I don't think so. You think that, act that way. A hell exists on Earth? Yes. I won't live in it. That's me.

Ricky Roma: What I'm saying, what is our life? Our life is looking forward or it's looking back. That's it. That's our life. Where's the moment? And what is it we're so afraid of? Loss. What else? The bank closes, we get sick, my wife died on a plane? The stock market collapsed? What of these things happen? None of them. We worry anyway. Why?

Ricky Roma: You know, they say, "You don't buy it, you rent it." Huh? The thing. You really... What do you keep? I mean, you don't keep anything, really. No. Security. Things. You know? Mm-hmm. It's just, you try to stave off insecurity. You can't do it. No. No, that's what I'm telling you. Stocks, bonds, objects of art, real estate, what are they? An opportunity. To what? To make money? Perhaps. To lose money? Perhaps. To indulge and to learn about ourselves? Perhaps. So fucking what? What is it? They're an opportunity. That's all they are. They're an event.

George Aaronow: When I talk to police, I get nervous.
Ricky Roma: Yes, you know who doesn't?
George Aaronow: No, who?
Ricky Roma: Thieves.
George Aaronow: I don't know what I'm gonna tell 'em.
Ricky Roma: The truth, George, always tell 'em the truth. Easiest thing to remember.

Ricky Roma: You wanna learn the first rule you'd know if you ever spent a day in your life? You never open your mouth till you know what the shot is.

Kevin: Natasha is, like, um... She's, like, nanny royalty. Okay? Timberlake said that he and Jess... they wept when she left to go to another family. Now that's what my family deserves, does it not? A nanny that makes Timberlake weep? Like a little baby.

Kevin: Uh, th-that was, uh, just my agent. They, uh, they're moving the filming of the movie to Vancouver, 'cause it's safer. I guess there's less COVID, so...
Madison: And that's bad because...?
Kevin: Because it's two weeks of filming, right? Plus, two weeks quarantine, which means I'd have to leave L.A. tomorrow.
Madison: Oh.
Kevin: Yeah, so, I-I, you know, I can't do it.

Jae-won: You want privacy? I'll give you privacy.

Dr. Wolfe: So, let me tell you how this is gonna go. Uh, by Pennsylvania law, I'm required to ask you this list of questions before we can proceed any further... Are you absolutely sure of your decision to terminate this pregnancy?...

Toby: This guy has a Myspace page? Of all the things that you have told me about this guy, him having a Myspace page is the creepiest.

Dr. Vance: You're already in the journey, Randall. Why not be in in it?

Kevin: I know I'm leaving at the worst possible time. But when I come back, it will be with a heart that is committed...
Madison: Kevin. I am deeply aware that you come from a family of great speech-givers. I think you should use this time away to be real with yourself...

Randall: To see where my mother lived, and the things she loved? I would like that very much.

Everything Is Now

Dark 1×9

The Stranger: Man has always puzzled over his origin. His genesis.
Created by God? Or a product of evolution?
If we could see yesterday and tomorrow at the same time, the origin and the end, the entire universe in a single moment, we might finally find answers to the biggest questions of all.
What is man? Where does he come from? What drives him? What is his purpose?

Noah: We are all full of sin. No pure human being exists. But no matter what we do, we never fall any lower than into God's hands.
Helge Doppler 1986: And what if they aren't God's hands? What if they are the hands of the devil?
Noah: God sent me to you. Did he not? We don't meet the people we meet by accident. We touch the lives of others and are touched ourselves, and thus God's hands guide us to our true destiny. Let us pray.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil... for you are with me... your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Egon Tiedemann 1953: The two boys? That's impossible. They can't be there. I changed that.
Ulrich Nielsen: What did you change?
Egon Tiedemann 1953: The course of time.

Claudia Tiedemann 1986: Just what might have happened there?
Bernd Doppler 1986: Do you believe that Hannibal marched over the Alps with elephants? There are no truths, just stories. And the story of this city is now in your hands. Is our power plant safe? Can something like Chernobyl happen in our plant? You decide what story you want to tell.

Helge Doppler 1986: Why would God want any of this?
Noah: After looking into hell, as you have, it can never be forgotten. It becomes a part of you. And the idea of God, of Jesus the Savior, becomes a thread of hope you cling to. All of us who know the darkness long for the light, but... there is no God! God didn't make this hole among us. God doesn't have a plan. There is no plan at all. There's nothing but chaos out there. Pain... and chaos!

Noah: People are bad. Malicious, evil. Life is nothing but a spiral of pain. And the world is doomed to be destroyed. But this here... This is our ark. And I'm Noah. If we can harness this energy, we can change everything. Then we decide the world's fate, far removed from all the evil and from all pain. We'll create a time machine that reorders everything, the beginning and the end.

Claudia Tiedemann: I made lots of mistakes back then. Believe me, if I could turn back time, I would do lots of things differently.

Hannah Kahnwald: Why do some people have everything and some nothing? Why do you and Regina have a beautiful home and I can't even pay my electrical bill? Why does fate predestine a good life for some and not for others?

Pernille: Just a little piece. You get fat drinking coffee with you.
Rasmus: I know of an effective diet. You make a simple movement 10-15 times a day.
Pernille: What kind of movement?

Saga: A diet is what you eat, not what you don't eat.
Rasmus: It was a joke.
Saga: I understood that.
Rasmus: Then maybe you can smile.

Saga: Why should Jakob come?
Martin: He's your boyfriend.
Saga: Do we need to do everything together then?
Martin: Are you doing anything at all together?
Saga: We're having sex.
Martin: Yes, of course... If you bring Jacob I'll get a chance to know him.
Saga: I don't know Mette just because you're together with her. I can come.
Martin: It was a chance to get to know Jakob. It was just a suggestion.

Saga: That nothing belonged to you. Everything shared.

Saga: No, myself.

     Своим сопутствием для нас животворили,
     Не говори с тоской: их нет;
     Но с благодарностию: были.

Samuel Baker: You've thought this through...
Tom Dolan: It's important.
Samuel Baker: And what's so important about it?
Tom Dolan: I... I met a woman.

Tom Dolan: She's smart, caring, driven, funny. I adore every bit of her. I want to be with her for the rest of my days without feeling guilty about lying to her about my past indiscretions.
Samuel Baker: Well, she sounds like an incredible woman.
Tom Dolan: She is. And she means more to me than all the dollar bills in the world.

Samuel Baker: They must be from the "orders are optional" generation...

Tom Dolan: I can explain...

Sean Meyers: Don't you hate that? Ask a question, you get a question in return?

Annie Wilkins: Yeah, well, glamor's overrated. But knowing how to blow stuff up, that's... That's pretty cool.

Tom Dolan: That's the trouble with IEDs, especially homemade ones. You never know what's gonna set them off. A bump, change in temperature, humidity. Hell, with that one, a good sneeze could trigger it.

Sean Meyers: It's a lot of money... Must be one special woman.
Tom Dolan: She is.

The Limehouse Golem (2016)

Inspector Roberts: Gentlemen, gentlemen, please! I'd ask you to direct your requests to my colleague... Detective Inspector Kildare. He's taking over the case.
John Kildare: Taking over?
Inspector Roberts: I'm just stepping aside, not stepping down. The public seeks reassurance, Kildare. What better way than to give them new blood?

John Kildare: "He who observes... spills no less blood than he who inflicts the blow." Lactantius.
George Flood: Impressive, sir.
John Kildare: The truth has a habit of sticking in the mind.
George Flood: Truth?
John Kildare: Those who fail to prevent injustice are as guilty as the perpetrator.

George Flood: The Dan Leno?
Librarian: And the Karl Marx and George Gissing. If you're a follower of philosophy and literature.

Dan Leno: Finished already? That's the second this week.
Lizzie Cree: I think books might be my first love. And I've always heard it said that first love is insatiable.

Karl Marx: So... London declares that the Jew was murdered by a Jewish monster? And so absolves itself of all responsibility. Make no mistake, gentlemen... it is not Solomon Weil who's mutilated and murdered here. It is the Jew.
George Flood: None of the Golem's other victims were Hebrews, sir.
Karl Marx: But do you not see? This murderer strikes at the very symbols of the city... the Jew, the whore. They are the sacrificial tributes in this labyrinth of London. And so of course must be ritually butchered.

Lizzie Cree: Remember that book you lent me? Pope? In the temple of fame, some people's names are carved in stone and others in ice. We're clowns, Dan. We'll be forgotten.

Lizzie Cree: We used one another equally. Perhaps that's the best that can be said of any coupling.
John Kildare: That's a very dim view.
Lizzie Cree: If you seek a dim view, be sure to ask a comedian.

John Kildare: Do you think he was capable of ending a life? Literally, I mean.
Dan Leno: Who knows what any man is capable of? We all wear pantomime masks... do we not?

John Kildare: All you need to do is tell the truth.
Lizzie Cree: I have never told you anything but the truth, Kildare.

Lizzie Cree: Well, it seems the show must go on.

The Bridge #2.7

Bron/Broen 2×7

Martin: Now he's becoming invisible.
Saga: No one's invisible.
Martin: I didn't mean it literally.
Saga: No, but you mean we all leave traces.
Martin: That's what I meant.

Saga: What do you want?
Jeanette: I came to say goodbye. I'm going home today. It's been very... interesting to stay with you.
Saga: Many use the word interesting to describe something they don't like.
Jeanette: Really?
Saga: What did I do wrong?
Jeanette: Nothing. You're just a little bit too... outspoken for my taste. And you seem totally uninterested of everything outside your own sphere.
Saga: Then, why did you come here?

Jeanette: Saga, I would like to... ask you a personal thing. If you're thinking about the future...
Saga: I don't think about the future.
Jeanette: If you did... If you stay together, will you have kids?
Saga: Do you want to be a grandmother?

Saga: She wanted to know if I was in love with Jacob.
Martin: What did you say?
Saga: I didn't really answer.
Martin: Why didn't you just answer that you were in love?
Saga: If I was in love my brain would've released serotonin or dopamine. I would've experienced euphoria.
Martin: So it's all about chemistry for you?
Saga: For all people. There's research done on it.

Saga: Have you ever touched a silicone breast?
Martin: ... Yes.
Saga: How was it?
Martin: It was... okay. Why do you ask?
Saga: I just wondered. Does Mette have silicone breasts?
Martin: No. Why do you ask?
Saga: She's got such great breasts.
Martin: Yes... She does.

Martin: Tell her it was well done.
Saga: Wait. Martin says "great work".
Pernille: Thank you. Say hello to him.
Saga: You're welcome.

Force of Nature (2020)

John: Let's go.
Cruz: Where's Babie?
John: The old prune panicked. Babie was aborted.

Jess: Any advice?
Cardillo: About?
Jess: This precinct. The residents.
Cardillo: Oh. Don't trust 'em. But... that applies everywhere.

Jess: So how are we gonna play this?
Cardillo: Play what?
Jess: What if people refuse to leave?
Cardillo: Well, then they die horrible fucking deaths. But the good news is, is it ain't our fault. We're not picking anyone up.

Cardillo: ...you got a complaint.
Jess: Could be bullshit.
Cardillo: Doesn't matter. You wash your hands at the sink and you get splash back, it still looks like you pissed yourself.

Troy: So, two flights up and three units over.
Cardillo: Yeah.
Troy: Are you a good shot?
Cardillo: Yeah, why?
Troy: Do me a favor. If I fall, shoot me. I don't wanna wait four-and-a-half hours to die of a brain hemorrhage.
Cardillo: Yeah, what if I fall?
Troy: You're a hard-headed. You'll survive.

Jess: You mind if I ask you something?
Ray: I mind if you ask permission. You wanna ask something, just ask.

Jess: What's that?
Ray: Oxy-moron. It's good for the pain.

The One with the Ballroom Dancing

Friends 4×4

Monica: Rachel, you just put an empty carton back in the fridge.
Rachel: I know, but the garbage was full.
Monica: Have you ever taken out the trash?
Rachel: Well, I thought you liked doing it...
Monica: Third door on the left!

Joey: Whoa, whoa! Treeger made you cry?
Rachel: Yes. He said really mean things that were only partly true.

Ross: Is this a gym card?
Chandler: Oh, yeah, gym member. I try to go four times a week, but I've missed... the last 1200 times.
Ross: So why don't you quit?
Chandler: You don't think I've tried? You think I like having $50 a month taken from my account? They make you go all the way down there. They use all these phrases and peppiness to confuse you. And then they bring out Maria.
Ross: Who is Maria?
Chandler: Oh, Maria!... You can't say no to her. She's like this lycra, spandex-covered, gym treat.

Monica: What's the matter?
Phoebe: My first massage is this incredibly gorgeous guy. Every time I see him, I want to... do things to him I can't charge for.
Monica: So do them for free.
Phoebe: No, it is forbidden. No, no. Mrs. Potter fires people for messing around with clients. And it's against my oath as a masseuse.
Ross: They make you take one?
Phoebe: No, I made myself take one. No fooling around with clients... and, um, always be prepared. That one's from the Boy Scouts, but it just makes good sense.

Ross: Remember what we talked about. You got to be strong.
Chandler: Yes, yes!
Ross: Now one more time. Don't you want a washboard stomach... and rock-hard pecs?
Chandler: No, I want a flabby gut and saggy man-breasts.
Ross: Good. That's good.

Phoebe: Hey! So I had a great day. Rick and I hit it off. We were making out. Then my boss walked in and fired me for being a whore. ... It's so weird. I have never been fired from anything... I started walking around, not knowing what to do next. I started asking people on the street if they wanted massages. Then these policemen thought I was a whore too. It's really been a bad day, whore-wise.

Mr. Treeger: Hey, Duck. Is Chick here?
